Description of the Belmopan vacation home rental
Right off the scenic Hummingbird Highway, this house is perfectly located for exploring Belize. The 2.5 bedroom home sits on 100 acres of lush jungle a short drive from both Belize's capital, Belmopan and the Caribbean sea. Enjoy the sound of rippling water while taking in the beauty of the Mayan Mountains, without giving up modern luxuries such as a flush-able toilet, dishwasher, washer/dryer, etc. There is a crystal clear creek just a few steps away from your door, with multiple swimming holes and waterfalls. The property is always populated and contains 10 acres organic fruit trees and 90 acres of jungle.

On the 200 sq ft balcony, you can spot all kinds of birds including toucans, hummingbirds and parrots. Activities in the area include cave tubing and exploring, waterfall hikes, bird watching and jungle yoga! The bus stop is a 3-5 min walk away and the nearby village is just a 5 min drive, including a small grocery store, bakery and most importantly, an organic creamery selling yogurt, raw milk and ice cream.

Off-grid house features include well water, rain water collection, solar panels with battery backup and biodigester blackwater system. The entire house is tiled and most rooms have a ceiling fan. The first bedroom has a king bed. The second bedroom has 2 twins that can be pushed together to form a king, The huge bathroom features a sink, toilet and bathtub/shower. Upstairs there is a kitchen with fridge/freezer, oven/stove, sink, coffee press, toaster and blender. The dining table seats 7-8. There is a half bedroom upstairs with a twin bed and 1 blow-up queen mattress and large 3D LED TV plus cinema surround system.

Area Information
A wide range of tours are available in the area, guided by some of Belize's foremost tour guides. These include private tours offering birding, caving, repelling, river excursions, medicinal and interpretive trails, overnight remote camping, and miles of trail systems for hiking. If you send us an email in advance telling us what you would like to do, that will help ensure we can get things set up for you by the time you get here.

Blue Hole National Park This is a clear, sapphire pool surrounded by sheer rock walls, hardwood trees and tangled vines, emerging from a collapsed karst sinkhole 25 feet deep. It is part of a spectacular cave system with miles of huge caverns that are adorned with crystalline formations, and there are several cave tours offered. Nature trails run through the park, where many Mayan relics have been found.

Five Blues Lake National Park The park is a 10-acre natural wonder of earth and water surrounded by over 4000 acres of limestone hills and tropical forests. Trails crisscross the park, leading to the many caves and sinkholes. You can swim the lake and dive the deeper areas, or take a tour of the park with one of the knowledgeable local guides.

Scenic Beaches A favorite beach area is found at the quaint little town of Hopkins, about 45 minutes from the house.

Barton Creek Cave For spelunkers, this is a great place to visit, and there are many other caves in Belize you might enjoy exploring.

Our creek is just amazing for swimming with its crystal clear water and it is just a few steps from your door! Additionally, the local village has a store, restaurant and dairy farm selling ice cream and raw milke.
