Description of the Berkeley vacation cottage rental
Our property is located in Temescal, a quickly growing neighborhood with fabulous restaurants and shopping on Telegraph Avenue, just walking distance away.

Featuring antique Danish modern furnishings, a private bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom, the property includes a private entrance through a calming courtyard in which you are invited to relax.

The bed is a brand-new Royal Pedic All-Cotton Mattress. Your own private kitchen includes basic cooking supplies and staples, and we will even stock your choice of local alcoholic or non-alchohlic beverages upon request.

Bluetooth speakers are available for you to connect to, providing you with relaxing tunes of your own. Or, browse our collection of DVDs offering cult classics and award-winning dramas--just be sure to bring your own laptop, as there is no television!

We use exclusively non-toxic cleaners and detergents.

We have a driveway which provides parking for up to two cars, or enjoy free on-street parking. Also, biking from our location is super easy!

Please see our personally-curated guidebook on the premises which includes insider's tips and maps to favorite dining, shopping and activities our city has to offer!

High speed internet, full-size washer and dryer with detergent. Gas stove, back yard, driveway with parking for up to two cars.

Hospital nearby in case of emergency.

Convenience and grocery stores within a short walking distance.

The kitchen has a low ceiling but comfortably accommodates anyone under 5'11' So if you're tall the kitchen ceiling may be an issue.

The property is walking distance to BART and one block off main bus lines, with easy access to Downtown Oakland, San Francisco, Berkeley and North Bay. Sometimes we are available to get you to or from the Oakland airport for a small fee of $20--less than the cost of taxi fare. Don't hesitate to ask; we'll help if we can!

Area Information
Like to hike: The Regional Parks in the Berkeley/Oakland Hills are spectacular destinations, or if you just want a light walk, the 3.5Mi/ 5K walk around the beautiful Lake Merritt in Oakland is easy to get to from our house and a great way to enjoy water birds who live or migrate through this area each year. You can rent boats at the Oakland Parks and Rec Sailboat House (sailing, canoes, kayaks, paddle boats) and get a different perspective on Oakland's downtown area. This lake is part of the Pacific Flyway for migrating birds and there are many different birds on the lake at different times of the year.

Like to tour unusual places? Hanger One Vodka, located near the Port of Oakland gives tours and tastings of their infused vodkas and gins. Located on the airstrip of an old Naval Air Station, the distillery offers incredible views of the San Francisco skyline. Next door is Rock Wall Winery with a cafe and tasting room as well. Have a meal and watch the sun go down behind the cityscape...a real treat!

First Friday of every month the Uptown area of Oakland host the Art Murmur party! Telegraph Avenue is closed off for several blocks and there are street bands, food trucks, specials in restaurants and all the art galleries are open to few local artists' work.

Farmer's Market every Sunday 9am-1pm, year 'round. Featuring locally sourced produce and food vendors, our favorite place to enjoy Blue Bottle coffee and a morning pastry. The Temescal Farmer's Market is literally across the street, making your stay feel like a home away from home!

We are walking distance to College Ave., Oakland & Berkeley's preeminent street for shopping, dining, browsing, relaxing for a cup of 'joe, or just people watching. College Avenue leads you directly into the hear of Berkeley, home of UC Berkeley.

Looking for additional entertainment? The historic art deco Paramount and Fox Theatres are nearby, often hosting local and international musicians and performers.

In the need for some art and culture? Oakland Museum of California is the place to go, featuring great curated arts and crafts on display. Every Friday night the museum hosts 20 local food trucks, music, and drinks. Head down to hear live music and half-price museum fares.

Wanna go a bit further? Access to the best of California's wine country is less than an hour away, where you can enjoy the best fruits from the vines of Napa and Sonoma counties.
