Peaceful and Relaxing

May 10, 2015

The house is located in a secluded neighborhood located on Coupon Bight. Key deer amble around with ease near and on the grounds. Key West is located 33 miles west and Marathon is 17 miles east. Big Pine has a Winn Dixie so you can get all your food provisions about 3 miles from the house. The house is older and not totally updated but the setting is great and the beds are very comfortable. Don't let this last statement stop you from booking because I would not hesitate to return. The tarpon fishing at Bahia Honda is great. We ate at The Island Fish Company in Marathon (recommend it), CoCo's for breakfast and to get a Cuban sandwich (recommend it), Springers (service was bad), Square Grouper in Cudjoe Key (awesome) and a few restaurants in Key West. We will be back.

Excellent week at a wonderful house!

June 9, 2014

My husband and I took my daughter her husband and our 3 grandchildren for a week. The house was perfect for our size group. Huge kitchen and great room, 3 big bedrooms and the best part 3 bathrooms! We used our boat everyday, getting out of the canal is really easy and there is a boat ramp right around the corner from the house. The tiki hut out back is awesome. And of course the Key deer are one of our favorite things about Big Pine and they just wander around the neighborhood. My grandchildren thought that was the coolest thing. We had a blast and would definitely rent this house again.

Owner's reply:

This has two bathrooms not three so this is not correct house for this review . This house is on open water of a bay and easy access to flats fishing or ocean fishing. Boat ramp is down the street or across the bay,

Great Stay

The pictures understate the beauty of the location: the view from the deck / house, the peaceful (away from all traffic) surroundings, the dear that visit. You can swim directly of the deck, canoe and bike.

Wonderful House & Location

April 20, 2014

I have a family of 5, and we all had an awesome vacation at this house! I spent many hours reviewing available homes before choosing this place, and this house, neighborhood, and unique location were all a big hit. Our kids are 8, 15, and 18. The house is comfortable and accommodating. We particularly enjoyed snorkeling & kayaking right off the dock, lounging, walking & biking on the quiet road, enjoying the view, wildlife, sunsets, and taking advantage of nearby attractions like Looe Key and Key West. Nearby activities abound, and all the gear you need can be rented nearby.

Long Beach Experience

July 6, 2012

What a fantastically rich area for wildlife viewing, hiking, biking and wonderful water experiences on a boat or kayak! The Key deer were curious and unafraid to visit (is that good?), the iguanas were frequently visible but much more timid, birding was excellent, snorkeling and viewing the underwater world was adventurous and easy. Big Pine Key offers so much outdoor opportunity. We found this house was very comfortable, spacious and private, clean with a well supplied kitchen. The dock was large enough to moor our boat and still fish/ swim/kayak. The entrance to the channel is a bit tricky but with some boating skills and attention to landmarks very do-able. We had a great week and would consider staying again.

We Didn't Want To Leave

April 2, 2012

Just look at the photos and you will see how beautiful this location is. Quiet, secluded and comfortable yet close to town. This is the third different house we rented in the Lower Keys area in as many years and our favorite by far. If you love nature this is the place for you. Key Deer in the yard, birds roosting every evening in the mangroves across the water, boating and fishing in the back yard and beautiful sunsets. We also appreciated the fact there were no stairs!!! The owner was very cooperative when we made a special request and communication with her during inital arrangements was easy and pleasant. We plan to return.
