Bugs and Missing Lights

October 11, 2014

There were several problems with this cabin. Furniture needs to be updated. We had problems with bugs (crickets, millipedes, massive ants). Several key light sockets did not work in both bathrooms and kitchen. Essential lights would work in upstairs bedroom and over the washer and dryer. Either light bulbs were missing or lamp switches were broken. Would not recommend.

Love the location and amenities

January 4, 2011

We stayed with 3 of our friends at Hemlock Bluff Cabin. It was a beautiful cabin, remotely located, and offered some fun amenities like the fireplace on the deck...loved it! We also enjoyed the game room downstairs as well as the hot tub and enormous deck area. The TVs could use updating. We were there for New Year's and for watching the bowl games. Large panel TVs are not that expensive anymore but they make a big difference in your viewing. Also, the email stated that the first bundle of firewood was include and additional bundles were $10. The cabin states that EACH bundle is $5. Not sure which instructions to follow. We brought extra with us which we left some for the next person. Hope that was okay. Thanks!!

Lots of fun at Turkey Scratch

November 3, 2009

Turkey Scratch cabin is in a beautiful setting - nothing but tall trees as far as you can see. We had six adults and two dogs and loved the huge wraparound porch and the hot tub. The bedrooms and bathrooms were great and the kitchen and living room were cozy - but a little small for six people (the table only sat four). But it wouldn't keep us from coming back - if you like to hike or horseback, you could explore this area for weeks!

Great place to relax and hang out and enjoy being away from the everyday mad rush of modern life. We rafted the Big South Fork (excellent), and we made good use of the hot tub. Nothing better than the hot tub under the stars.

This is a perfect location to get away from it all, but still able to get to a store or see the sights. The Jacuzzi bathtub is FANTASTIC! Thanks for leaving seed for the bird feeder. Also saw a flying squirrel on the feeder at 1:00 a.m.
