A Jewel in the Mountains

A perfect getaway situated on over eleven thousand acres of private property! The cabin is a real jewel in the Crazy Mountains. Only one word describes it: Awesome! The cabin is about a mile away from the Canyon Road, so there is no noise. The scenic views are breathtaking. The cabin is very clean, the furniture is beautiful, the comforters are very comfortable, and the private patio outside is a dream, perfect for meals, reading, or just enjoying the view. The 1.5 rooms are on one level, which makes it very convenient for senior guests as well. The cabin is very well insulated, it has curtains and blinds, which guarantees a very pleasant temperature even during the summer months. The same holds true for the garage right next door where we were able to park our car and had lots of additional storage space available. We enjoyed Barbara's wonderful flower garden around the cabin featuring beautiful sunflowers, hollyhocks and other plants. Thank you, Barbara and Lee, for inviting us to join you for most enjoyable potluck dinners on your patio! We will never forget them and cannot wait to come back next year. We highly recommend this very special cabin!

Crazy for the Crazy Mountains

November 9, 2011

This was a spur of the moment vacation and I could not think of anywhere else I would rather be than in the Crazy Mountains on the Hailstone Ranch. This was my 3rd vacation on the ranch. This time I was traveling alone. I decided to stay in the Crazy Mountain RanchCabin rather than in the Hideaway Cabin. I had seen the RanchCabin "in process" during my last stay & looked forward to staying there. It was wonderful.....even more than I had imagined. All the hand crafted log furniture and tasteful decorating....I was awestruck! I was extremely comfortable in the RanchCabin. Wonderful views of the mountains & the ranch. Being that I was by myself on this trip, it was nice that this cabin was close to the ranch house. And even so, I still had all the privacy that I had when staying at the other cabin. I would highly recommend the RanchCabin for the single traveler and for couples. Once again I had to return to Florida, with tears in my eyes.... I did not want to leave Montana. I fell in love with the Crazy Mountains on my first vacation on the ranch in 2008 and would love to make Big Timber & the Crazy Mountains my home. As always, I am looking forward to my next vacation in 2012!!

If your looking for breathtaking, scenic mountain views, hiking an array of great trails, abundant game to observe, true peace and quite and a night sky you won't ever forget, then the Langhus's mountain cabin is for you. Lee and Barbara are truly wonderful hosts with three generations of interesting history from the ranch. They make you feel comfortable and at home. Lee has handcrafted quite a bit of the unique, rustic furnishings in the cabin, which was a special treat. You will never taste better water, which comes straight out of a mountain spring. I organized a fall outing for a bunch of guys. Lee and Barbara exceeded my expectations in every way. We all want to take our wives out to experience the beauty, solitude and hospitality. A wonderful place and experience!

We had a fantastic stay at the Ranchcabin. A perfect getaway in a peaceful location with breathtaking views of the Crazy Mountains. The cabin itself is tastfully appointed with unique handcrafted furniture. The bedding is oustanding - starched sheets and downfeather comforters - what a treat! After a warm Welcome, the owners were available at all times to help with anything & this place will be a favorite of ours for years to come. Thank you Barbara and Lee for being the nicest hosts!
