Description from owner

Our winter special - book 2 nights and get a 3rd consecutive night free!

Only 2 hours North of Seattle and 45 minutes south of Vancouver B.C., Lora's cottage invites with a white picket fence, painted shutters and a covered front porch. Step inside our vintage Lora's Cottage and you'll find warm fir floors & a tiled woodstove along with original art work on the walls and just the right touches of cottage decor. Plenty of lace adorns old fashioned wood windows that let in Birch Bay sunshine and partial views of the bay that's little more than a stone's throw from the cottage. A modern full kitchen boasts everything you'll need, whether fixing snacks & coffee or a full dinner for your sweetie, close friends or small family. We've added a darling tea cupboard Tea and a china tea set for four. Wi-Fi, bring your laptop if you must combine work with vacation.

Come nightfall retreat to two bedrooms, one with quality queen memory foam mattress & LCD TV/DVD/VCR above a rattan dresser, the other with quality rattan full bed, done in cottage white with lavender roses. The bath is complete with extra deep soaking tub, shower and our own custom soaps, shampoo & lotion. Lora's will sleep 6 in a pinch-there's a queen sofa bed in the living room.

Lora's has excellent beach access, a couple miles of unobstructed beach-walking/bicycling in Old Birch Bay - the fun part - plus there's private beach via gated footbridge. You'll have to heed the nesting sandpiper's shrill warning as you choose your driftwood log for sitting in the sun and catching the gentle breeze out on the private spit. We also get those wonderful winter storms! Eagles fly and perch within easy sight and sound of the cottage and the Bay. A great place to play, a great place to unwind. 50mbs Wi-Fi if you must stay connected. The map on this site is almost right, we're a lot closer to the beach than it shows.

“Lora's Cottage”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2015

My children and I just spent a magical week together enjoying all of the seaside adventures Lora's Cottage and the Birch Bay Area has to offer. The cottage was bright, clean, welcoming, charming and very cozy. The owners Kelvin and Patti felt like family by the time we left. We were sad to say goodbye.... We found them to be exceptionally friendly, warm and gracious. We enjoyed our family time treasure hunting at the beach and exploring the surrounding area. Our evenings were spent watching the beautiful sunsets from Lora's front porch or giggling together playing games or curled up watching a flick. It was a wonderful week of making lasting memories. We highly recommend this quaint and very sweet cottage for your next getaway. It was certainly a highlight

Owner's reply: Thanks for your lovely comments about Lora's Cottage. It was such a pleasure meeting you and your family and we're so glad you enjoyed our hospitality and our area! Kelvin and Patti

“Cute Cottage, great service, great location.”

This place was just lovely, very cute. It is a small place, but we had 6 people. Other than that, the host is wonderful and very attentive and responsive. They really show care and character. We had an amazing time. Thank you again for having us.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much, Mustanir, it was our pleasure to have you as our guests. One of my husband's favorite things to do for our guests is to build a fire in the woodstove for a cozy ambience in winter. Along with cinnamon rolls, what could be better? Yummm!!!!

“Family weekend”

Reviewed 13 Jun 2008

An enjoyable, relaxing weekend for all in a beautifully decorated and furnished cottage. The kitchen equipment was just like home. The proximity to the beach was so nice and we were able to enjoy a low tide experience with the delightful tide pools. We would like to stay at this cottage again in the future. The cinnamon rolls were great too!
