About the area

Our area boasts the safest & warmest tidal waters of the Pacific Northwest as well as the largest sun baked tide flats. Birch Bay has been one of the state's few resort areas for over 100 years. Waterslides, go karts, mini golf & mini train rides are sone of the resort fun close by. Shops & restaurants are within easy walking distance, the beach always at your side. Venture further out from your cottage to the countryside with farms open to the public, small villages with their own themes and festivals. Try Lynden, a true Dutch Treat. And Bellingham's Fairhaven, museums, Mt Baker Theatre and aquarium should keep you busy for a while. Then try whale watching, salmon fishing or kayaking with the most experienced of guides. Then a day trip or two to beautiful Vancouver B.C., Victoria or south to bustling Seattle. And then back again to quaint Lora's where whispers of mellow age relax body & soul. C Shoppe - Old fashioned chocolates made on site. 1 block south of our cottages. Vonna's Purple Fin, CJ's, Shores

“Lora's Cottage”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2015

My children and I just spent a magical week together enjoying all of the seaside adventures Lora's Cottage and the Birch Bay Area has to offer. The cottage was bright, clean, welcoming, charming and very cozy. The owners Kelvin and Patti felt like family by the time we left. We were sad to say goodbye.... We found them to be exceptionally friendly, warm and gracious. We enjoyed our family time treasure hunting at the beach and exploring the surrounding area. Our evenings were spent watching the beautiful sunsets from Lora's front porch or giggling together playing games or curled up watching a flick. It was a wonderful week of making lasting memories. We highly recommend this quaint and very sweet cottage for your next getaway. It was certainly a highlight

Owner's reply: Thanks for your lovely comments about Lora's Cottage. It was such a pleasure meeting you and your family and we're so glad you enjoyed our hospitality and our area! Kelvin and Patti

“Cute Cottage, great service, great location.”

Reviewed 26 Nov 2012

This place was just lovely, very cute. It is a small place, but we had 6 people. Other than that, the host is wonderful and very attentive and responsive. They really show care and character. We had an amazing time. Thank you again for having us.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much, Mustanir, it was our pleasure to have you as our guests. One of my husband's favorite things to do for our guests is to build a fire in the woodstove for a cozy ambience in winter. Along with cinnamon rolls, what could be better? Yummm!!!!

“Family weekend”

Reviewed 13 Jun 2008

An enjoyable, relaxing weekend for all in a beautifully decorated and furnished cottage. The kitchen equipment was just like home. The proximity to the beach was so nice and we were able to enjoy a low tide experience with the delightful tide pools. We would like to stay at this cottage again in the future. The cinnamon rolls were great too!
