Area Information
There are many major Black Hills Attractions close to Custer. A few miles to the east is Custer State Park, one of the most beautiful state parks in the nation, that features a wildlife loop, where buffalo, white tail deer, elk, antelope, prairie dogs, and donkeys may be seen. Many pictureque lakes are located in the park, also the erosion carved, majestic "needles" overlook the park.
Just outside the park near Sylvan Lake is Harney Peak, which has walking trails and horse trails to the top, when you reach the top you will be at the highest point between the Rocky Mountains and the Pyrenees in Spain.
A short drive to the north of Custer is Crazy Horse Mountain that is currently being carved. Mount Rushmore National monument is another short drive to the north and east of Crazy Horse. South of Custer is the Wild Horse Sanctuary where a large herd of horses live free and can be observed by visitors. Near the sanctuary in Hot Springs is the mammoth archeological site and dig.
We are located close to Hot Springs, Hills City and historical Keystone.
