Description of the Bodega Bay vacation home rental
'Pacific View' is a 3-bed/2-bath (sleeps 2-8) 2000 sq.ft. private home on Gull Drive in the Bodega Harbor subdivision of Bodega Bay. It backs up to the 1st Tee of the Bodega Harbor Golf course and has gorgeous views of Bodega Head, Doran Beach and the Pacific Ocean. The house is well-laid out with vaulted ceilings in all rooms, beautiful wood molding, skylights and tall picture windows. There are 2 beach access trails off of Gull Drive so you are literally minutes from the water.

Layout of House: All bedrooms/kitchen/bathrooms/dining room are located on the main-level. The living room is on the upper level-up about 6 carpeted steps with a railing. 2-car garage. There are 2 low-level cement steps and 2 wooden steps prior to front door. As you enter the front door on the main floor the Master Bedroom is to your right & sits facing the front of the home with ocean views from all its windows. This a large room with a King size bed, TV/Cable/DVD/VHS. There is also a separate full bath with double vanity/toilet closet in this room. Room is large with a trundle bed in it as well (2-twins...great for kids). The beds have reading lamps for all guests.

The Dining rm/Kitchen is on the main floor as well. The kitchen is fully-equipped and the dining table sits next to it and seats 8 guests. We keep the pantry stocked with various seasonings, teas, coffee, foil, saran wrap...etc. There are two decks off these rooms. A deck to the back facing the golf course with 2-lounge chairs and an enclosed deck to the side with the hot-tub. The hot-tub deck is enclosed with a 4.5 foot fence with a barked in area behind it. Here sits a Weber propane barbecue as well.

Bedrooms 2 & 3 are in the back wing of the house. Quite often we hear that guests love the 'quiet' layout of the home. Both these rooms are spacious with vaulted ceilings , Queen beds/TV/DVD. Both have reading lamps for all guests. All King and Queen beds have memory foam Pure Comfort Mattress Topper's on them making for a comfortable night's sleep!

The 2nd full bath is along this same hallway and houses the laundry closet (washer/dryer). These back rooms have a view of the golf course. The 3rd bedroom has a water view from its front facing windows.

The Living Room upstairs has wonderful views out 4 very large picture windows. There are two vacant lots across from us which add to the open view. Beautiful sunsets and a great view of Doran Beach, Bodega Head and Pacific Ocean beyond. Lrg. 55" HDTV w/Blu ray/DVD, stero-cd player, bookcase with a lrg. assortment of books & magazines, and a lrg. assortment of Video's. Leather couches/chair and a fireplace in this spacious room make it a wonderfully relaxing area to spend with family/friends.

Families: For guests with kids we have located in closets: hi-chair, swing, infant seat, playpen, toy box, jogging stroller (garage). Closet full of games & Nintendo Video games.
Beach items: Beach blankets, chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, ice chests, sand toys located in garage. We even keep a beach pass for families wanting to drive to the State Beach at Doran entrance with all their 'stuff' saving you the $6 parking fee.

What do we/guests love most about the home? The house has a very open uncluttered feel with all the sunlight from skylights/windows and vaulted ceilings. Love being able to walk out the front door and hit the beach in 2-3 min. The Master Bdrm in the front and the Guests Bdrms in the back wing of the home give a measure of privacy to couples/families with kids. We clean the home ourselves so know it's clean, functioning and is always well stocked with soap/paper products/supplies. Extra pillows/blankets in all rooms. Free long-distance calling to USA/Canada as well. A home away from home without all the 3C's: chores, clutter & chaos.

Q: What is the best way to get in touch?
A: We work in/out of the Harbor and live only 15 minutes from our Bodega Bay homes and are available 24/7 when a guest is in our homes. You'll have our home #'s and cell numbers. In addition we keep binders in the home with guidlelines to the home and surrounding community. We welcome the opportunity to answer your questions.
Q: What if something breaks?
A: Although we can't predict when something will break we often catch things before a guest will simply because we 'manage' our own properties and are so familiar with the home. In addition, Dave has licensing in Plumbing, Heating, and Electrical and runs Acrat Plumbing & Heating. Therefore we not only have the experience and the manpower to 'fix' a problem, we have the supplies in our shop as well.
Q: What time is check-in/check-out?
A: Check-in time is 4pm; check-out time is 11am. That is the STANDARD in the harbor. I'm usually much more flexible and almost always have keys & homes available earlier. I'll let you know exactly in welcome packet.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Reservations cancelled 45-days prior to reserved stay (non-holiday periods; holiday periods are 60 days) are refunded in full minus $35.00 service charge. Reservations cancelled less than 45-days prior to reserved stay are non-refundable unless we are able to re-rent that time period. Holiday rentals require minimum 60-day cancellation notice prior to reserved stay. Cancellations must be made in writing.
Q: Can we have an extra person who will sleep on the floor or on an airbed?
A: Our homes allow for a stated maximum number of guests. The Bodega Harbour Homeowners Association as well as Fire Marshal dictates how many can sleep in our home. I'm STRICT on occupancy! No more then the maximum is allowed in any of our homes. No additional day guests are allowed. If you are staying over on a holiday and wish to have extra guests in the home for a holiday meal, I'm really flexible BUT you must clear it with me first in writing AT TIME OF BOOKING. If our onsite manager calls and the home is over-occupied, you will be in violation of occupancy limits which will result in forfeiture of all monies and immediate termination of occupancy.
Q: How close to the beach are you?
A: Our homes are on Gull Drive. We have a map on our site indicating where the home is in the Bodega Harbour community. It's in easy walking distance even for a 5 year-old. Pacific View is located 10 driveways or so up from the beach access trail. Yes...you can see the surf, smell the salt and hear the waves crashing from the home. Gull Harbour is across the street from the beach trail. We also keep a parking pass to Doran Beach State Park in each home for guests to use. It's helpful for families who have a lot of 'stuff' to take and want to make a day of it.
Q: What are some of the things you recommend doing on your Bodega Bay vacation?
A: Depends on season & weather. I love the beach on a sunny day. Armstrong Woods are fabulous for great Redwood hikes (about 45 min drive -scenic coastline some) but worth it. Sonoma Canopy Tours in Occidental...incredible zipling FUN! Nicholas Green Memorial/Bodega Head/hiking. Visit Sonoma Coast Visitors Center located IN Bodega Bay a mile down road from homes. GREAT access to everything going on in the area with a slew of brochures on restaurants, wineries, beaches, etc.
