Are you looking for serenity, stunning mountain views, and a place of relaxation and inspiration? Then look no further than this beautiful cabin perched on 2 private acres above Boone near scenic Howard's Knob.
The main level features easy entry with a handicap-accessible ramp as well as stairs. The kitchen has granite counters, stainless steel appliances, and an old-fashioned deep bin porcelain sink, as well as a full assortment of cookware and dishes. The dining table, overlooking the deck and the mountain views, will seat 8 comfortably, and there are three stools at the kitchen island. In the living room, floor to ceiling windows afford every seat a spectacular view. There is a floor-to-ceiling stacked stone wood burning fireplace (bring your own firewood) and a Roku Smart TV with a DVD player.
Off the living room awaits the master suite. This room has a King bed, French doors leading to the deck with the hot tub right outside, a TV, and its own private bathroom with a stone tiled shower, a separate soaking tub, double granite vanities, and a crystal chandelier for the extra touch of elegance. Off the foyer is a full bath with a wheelchair accessible shower with a fold-down seat, and a bedroom with a King bed and a TV.
Upstairs there is a bedroom at each end, with a full bath with tub/shower in between them. Each room has a King bed with a TV.
On the extensive deck waits the sunken hot tub. Relax away your cares among the bubbles or rock them away in the rocking chairs as you soak in the breath-taking mountain views. For dinner, fire up the gas grill and barbeque up a feast for everyone. The large yard is completely fenced in with wood and chicken wire, making it safe for young children to enjoy. Off the parking area, there is a marked hiking trail into the woods, called Bruno's Path, which meanders through the forest and up to the ridge. At the entrance to the development, there is a small pavilion, fire pit, and a pond, perfect for an afternoon picnic.
Located just 15 minutes above Boone's shopping and dining and ASU in the peaceful Woodland Springs area near Howard's Knob, this wonderful cabin is less than 10 minutes from Howard's Knob Park, a great place for the young and the young at heart to run off excess energy while exploring stone cliffs overlooking the valley. The drive to Blowing Rock with Main Street's award-winning Shopping and Dining along with Appalachian Ski Resort and Tweetsie Railroad is just 25 minutes, and this cabin's location also makes it convenient to every other High Country attraction. You're sure to love coming to these mountains for Innspiration!
Please Note: The cabin is accessed via a one-lane gravel access road. 4WD or AWD vehicles are required Nov-April, and chains will also be necessary to access the home during inclement weather.
The Story Behind The Name
My husband and I first came to the mountains of Boone, North Carolina in 1984, and fell in love with the area. It became our dream to have a vacation cabin here one day. We looked for the perfect lot to build our cabin on for a number of years and when we saw the lot where our cabin now sits, it simply took our breath away. We knew this was the place. We were in awe of the amazing forever views, the views of the farming valley below, the abundant wildlife and the natural pristine beauty of the area.
Our cabin was completed in October 2004. I can remember the first morning waking up and gazing out at the boundless beauty that surrounded us. My husband and I both felt an undeniable sense of peace, splendor and inspiration. Every day we are here there is always something new to see or experience. It may be a doe with her fawn running through the woods, a brilliant Indigo Bunting feeding at our bird feeder, a beautiful wildflower we've never seen before or a breathtaking sunset. I remember watching the first sunset from our deck. As the glowing crimson sun melted into the mountains, the sky turned almost every color of the rainbow and I thought, "How could anyone be here to see the amazing beauty *** has created and not be incredibly grateful and inspired?"
When it came to naming our cabin it only seemed natural to call it Innspiration. Inn: A house in the country where people can eat, rest and sleep. Inspiration: Divine guidance or influence exerted directly on the mind and soul of humankind. Hence, the name Innspiration was born.
If you happen to decide to stay at our cabin, Innspiration, just be prepared to be significantly inspired. We sincerely hope that you enjoy our little slice of heaven. ~George & Charlene
