Welcome to SeaGlass Cottage, an incredible waterfront vacation rental in East Boothbay! Nestled between a steep hillside and the edge of the Linekin Bay, at SeaGlass you will be surrounded by stunning beauty and immersed in nature. Just to the north is Perch Cove which is renowned as a striped bass fishing hot spot. The cottage faces west and you will enjoy some of the most stunning sunsets that you will ever see right from your bay window. Look south and you will enjoy panoramic views of Linekin Bay with its abundance of lobster and sail boats, and you might even spot our Osprey, some loons or a seal or two.
There is an incredible 200' long deep water dock with a large sundeck and sitting area that has a swim ladder, and can accommodate anything from a kayak to a large boat. At low tide there is a large 250' private rocky beach area (this area is underwater at high please don't think white sandy beach), that is great for beach combing, digging for clams or catching crabs. Bring your water shoes!
The cottage itself loaded with charm and filled with nooks and crannies. It features an open floorplan with high pitched exposed beam ceilings, and is covered in wainscotting. Seaglass was professionally decorated and features high quality linens, towels and area rugs. There is also high speed internet, WIFI and a 32' HD TV. The main bedroom, on the second floor, is open to the first floor and is accessed by a small spiral staircase. It has beautiful pumpkin pine floors, a high pitched ceiling and great water views. The second bedroom is accessed by a ladder and is a small sleeping loft. It has a queen bed and two small dressers. There is also a screened-in porch which has a daybed, 4 cushioned chairs, a dining table and fantastic views. The bathroom is very small, has a small door and has a shower only. The shower is rather large but has a low ceiling. It might be uncomfortable for tall persons (those over 6'3") There is also an outdoor shower.
Area Information
This location provides a fantastic opportunity to get away from it all and relax, surrounded by some of the most beautiful views anywhere. But, if you are looking for more action, our gorgeous cottage is only 4 miles from Boothbay Harbor, which is home to many fine dining and casual restaurants, shops and galleries. It is only 3 miles to the popular Ocean Point where you can relax on the rocks and take in the breathtaking views. One of the areas most scenic hiking trails, The Linekin Preserve, is only 2/10ths of a mile away. Also nearby is the Boothbay Country Club, the Maine Botanical Gardens, and numerous boat excursions including whale watches, schooners tours and trips to Monhegan Island and Ram Island Light House. It is also a great home base for daytrips, with much of the mid-coast's favorite towns and attractions within an hour's drive such as Camden, Rockland, Rockport, Pemaquid Beach, Pemaquid Lighthouse and Popham Beach.

***IMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: Please note that our beautiful seasonal cottage is set near the edge of the Bay at the bottom of a 75 yard long hill. This unique location makes for a spectacular and very private setting, but does require a walk down the unpaved hill from the parking area up top. For this reason, access to the cottage for those with mobility issues would not be recommended.

The large dock, known locally as 'Daddy Long Legs' is also home to our personal small motor boat. Although, we will occasionally walk by the cottage for access, we consider the dock and the area surrounding the cottage to be your private space and spend no additional time there.

The setting would also be inappropriate for young children, due to some steep drop offs.

Parking is limited and there is no room for RV's large trucks or trailers.

Other Vacation Rental Amenities
We have a low-tide "beach" type area that is good for swimming, clamming and exploring. It is a typical Maine oceanfront area that has a lot of rocks and seaweed, but is not sandy or conducive for sunbathing. There is a large sundeck with lounge chairs for sunbathing.

Owner Supplied Testimonials

Been coming to Maine for years, best place ever!!! So cute, beautifully decorated, and everything you could need has been thought of. The location is perfect, just perfect and the owners are lovely! The only downside, is the day you leave!! Quiet and beautiful, yet close to the action in Boothbay Harbor, if you so desire.

Where the ocean meets the forest - a beautiful bungalow by the sea that comes equipped with everything you need to drop your bags and start "chillin." If you are looking for a cozy cottage for two and an escape from it all - you will love this place. Far enough out of town to feel like you are out of town but close enough to access it all in minutes. So many great local spots for sight seeing, hiking and kayaking. Doubt you would need anything but if so Pam and Kelly are happy to accommodate. We are so excited to return next year!

Seaglass Cottage was the perfect place for my husband and I to spend our 3rd anniversary. The property was very cozy with everything we needed for our stay on the Maine coast. Everything was clean and comfortable, right down to the awesome bed linens (the best linens we've ever had at a rental property!). Pam and Kelly were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. The view of the harbor is breathtaking, and there are lots of nice outdoor spots for you to enjoy it, including a huge dock and a nice table on the porch. If you have to be inside, there are tons of windows from which to enjoy the ocean and wildlife. We spent almost every night reading in the screen porch. The cottage is a short drive to Boothbay Harbor and is also convenient to lots of other great spots on the coast, including Portland, Freeport, and Bath. If you're looking for a wonderful place to get away, you won't be disappointed with this gorgeous spot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are kayaks available?
A: There is a local kayak rental company that will deliver kayaks right to our dock. We are in a protected area of the bay, so it is not as rough as the open ocean and is perfect for kayaking and boating. There is also a motor boat rental company in Boothbay Harbor. If you wish to bring your own, there is plenty of room to keep them on the float at the end of the dock. Guests typically put their kayaks in from the dock or via the low tide beach area.
Q: Can you further explain the property access?
A: The setting for the cottage is stunning and unique. It is literally built on a rocky ledge at the bottom of a steep cliff, and sits right beside the edge of the bay. There is no way to drive a car down to it. So guests park up by the owner's property and walk down a more gradual, grassy slope that goes around the steeper part of the hill. The total walk is about 75 yards long. We have a couple of carts to assist with luggage and supplies.
Q: How close is Boothbay Harbor?
A: It is about 4.5 miles and typically takes just under 10 minutes to get to town. (Although the drive is also quite beautiful so many folks will take it slow to enjoy the ride!)
Q: Is there swimming at SeaGlass?
A: Yes! We are in a protected area of the bay and the water tends to bit warmer than the open ocean. The water temperature usually peaks at around 70. Not too bad for the ocean in Maine!
