Branson Fun, Shopping and Shows

Silver Dollar City, the granddaddy of Branson theme parks, this spring unveiled its newest thriller, The Giant Swing, a $6 million ride that launches riders more than 70 feet in the air at speeds approaching 45 miles per hour. The Great Barn housing the attraction features interactive games and other activities to entertain riders waiting in line.

White Water's newest attraction, Kalani Towers, offers top-speed body sliding. This mega water ride launches thrill seekers down 300-foot slides from a starting height of 75-feet. Four-lane speed racing is also featured. The family oriented water park has 12 rides and other water park attractions, including the popular Little Squirts' Waterworks.

With the addition of Branson Landing's 500,000 square feet of new retail space last year,

Branson is indisputably one of the top shopping destinations in the country. Anchored by Bass Pro Shops, the 65,000 square foot Branson Mill Craft Village and Belk Department Store, the $420 million, 95-acre development integrates over 100 shops, galleries and specialty stores with luxury lodging, dining, marinas, river walk and nightlife to create a dynamic waterfront setting on Lake Taneycomo.

Three unique factory outlet malls, Factory Merchants Branson (aka Red Roof Mall), Tanger Outlet Center and The Shoppes at Branson Meadows combine to make Branson the Midwest's premiere hot spot for bargain hunters. Over 200 name brand retailers offer 25 to 65-percent savings every day on housewares, clothing, shoes, luggage, jewelry, outdoor gear, specialty items and much more.

Historic Downtown Branson is also a shopper's delight. An old-fashioned dime store, boutiques, specialty stores and hometown eateries make the quaint downtown area uniquely appealing.

Branson is loaded with accomplished musicians, so you know when a new act creates a major buzz within the entertainment community, it's got to be something special. Such is the case with SIX, aka Barry, Curtis, Jak, Kevin, Lynn and Owen Knudsen, now performing at the Hughes Brothers Celebrity Theatre. New to Branson, the six brothers have thrilled audiences on four continents with their intense, high-energy vocals and powerhouse stage presence. Using only their voices, SIX creates percussion, instruments and complex harmonies to create the truly amazing entertainment experience now taking Branson by storm.

The matinee show at Dick Clark's American Bandstand Theater celebrates 50 Years of Cool Cars & Rock Stars with a special production commemorating 50 years of American Bandstand. A revolving line-up of stars includes The Comets, Gary Lewis & the Playboys, Bill Medley, Paul Revere and others. '57 Heaven, the world's largest collection of 1957 automobiles and memorabilia, has also been expanded for the 2007 season.

A long-standing Branson attraction is offering a new twist to its land-and-water sightseeing tours. Now you can Ride The Ducks! with a variety of musical themes to choose from, including Elvis! Utilizing USCG-approved vehicles that travel Table Rock Lake or Branson's scenic mountain roads with equal ease, Ride The Ducks tours offer a unique view of the Ozark's landscape.

Wonderful, very comfortable, having two master suites was great. We cooked Thanksgivig dinner with ease. Our only complaint would be; at first we were intimadated by the mountain drive. If you want a wonderful homey get away this place is great.

Fall in Branson

October 18, 2009

We arrived with clouds and a cold misty rain and left with the same. We had about 4 hours of sunshine the entire week we were there. That said, we enjoyed our visit. The property is located outside of Branson in Reeds Springs. A beautiful setting and secluded area. We were unable to use the fireplace, since there was no propane in the tank. On our first phone call, we were told that it would be taken care of and it wasn't. Subsequent calls were not returned. Since this was the major reason for renting this property and not a condo, we were very disappointed. The cold dreary weather did not help with this situation. It was furnished very nicely and had comfortable bedding. TV's in both bedrooms and living room were a plus. The pots and pans could be upgraded - everything stuck to the bottom, no matter what we were cooking. A great property for two couples, since both bedrooms have the same amenities.
