“Cozy cabin in the woods.”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2017

The house is set off in a quiet, wooded area but only about 10 minutes to Main St. and shopping. There are 2 bedrooms w/queen sized beds and one of the bedrooms has a bunk bed--which we knew about, so the kids (9 of them) just brought extra comforters and all slept upstairs in another bunk bedroom and loft area so the 4 adults could have the queen bedrooms and they could be together. Pool table room was used allot by the kids and we had a small fire in the pit with s'mores. The owner was quick to help when we lost internet access (homework and papers were needing to get done). The only thing you'd need to bring is garbage bags, laundry detergent, toilet paper, measuring cups and a large fry pan or griddle if you want to cook up a large breakfast for the whole crowd. We had 13. Just a wonderful place to get away for a while.

“Great experience”

We rented this house for a weekend getaway for 10 ppl. The property was beautiful and very private. The house was stocked with everything you would need! We had a great time by the campfire and playing yard games. The property is very close to golf courses and a beautiful lake. Steve was great at communicating. I would love to stay here again.

Owner's reply: Glad you enjoyed come back again

Great place to spend new years _ we Skied at SundayRiver one day (40 minute drive) and Shawnee Peak the next day (10min drive) - the house was beautiful.

“Great place! Better than expected”

This house is the perfect getaway and is not lacking anything. We stayed in a different home last year and this house was worth every penny. Highland Lake is a gem and is a 2 minute ride away.

“In the woods”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2013

My family enjoyed staying in this lovely log home in Bridgton, ME. There is plenty of room to spread out, with 3 levels of living space. There are many of the essential amenities (fully applianced kitchen, nice dining & living room space, full bath and additional bathroom with shower). It's located about 1.3 miles from Highland Lake, which is lovely, but it was a bit cold to enjoy the water on this trip! We were close to Fryeburg, so were able to attend the fair, and also enjoyed the many businesses and restaurants in the neighboring towns. Be sure to go to the movie theatre in Bridgton and also have a meal at Beth's Cafe in Bridgton....yummy!

“Rent This House!”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2013

Beautiful log cabin, well decorated, open floor plan set up well for spending time together. We spent our annual girls weekend here. The house was warm & welcoming. The basement had a pool table & each floor has a deck to enjoy the beautiful woods. There is also an area outside for a campfire w/ rustic benches to enjoy the fire comfortably & a horseshoe pit right behind the house. The owners put a lot of thought & effort to make this an entertaining & comfortable home in which to stay any time of the year. I will be back.

“The perfect escape!!”

Hodge Podge Lodge...what a great place! As soon as you step into this beautiful, spacious log home, you are surrounded by a warm and comfortable feeling. This place offers more than most vacation homes. Plenty of space for a large family and lots of extras! The lake is beautiful! We enjoyed a week of swimming and boating and fishing..truly a getaway from the everyday grind. Thank you Hodgetts Family! We will be back!

“Best Christmas Ever!”

Reviewed 9 May 2012

My family had a beautiful white Christmas at your cabin. When we arrived the lights were on and the fireplaces were lit,it was nice and cozy. I couldn't have asked for a nicer place to spend my holiday. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Downstairs was perfect for the kids to play video games and the adults to shoot some pool. Super cool table and chairs downstairs!! The shower on the main floor had a feel of taking a shower outdoors because of all the wood. The only thing i would complain about is that the mattress on the main floor bedroom was uncomfortable and sunk in and the mattress on the bottom bunk in the same room was very hard. Overall this was the best vacation ever. We did not want to leave the cabin the entire time we were there. We will be calling to book another trip very soon. Thanks Steve!

“Best family vacation in years”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2011

Just wanted to say Thank you to Steve for allowing the Roxbury and the Tyler's a place to stay and have one of the best family vacations in years. This beautiful large log cabin had plenty of space for all 9 of us. Close to the lake for water fun. Close enough drive for a dip in the ocean, nature trails and such. We will be back!

“Great vacation week”

Reviewed 10 Jan 2011

We rented the house with 12 people and the house worked out great. Kids used the room downstairs to play games and pool. We enjoyed the wrap around deck, cable tv, and wireless internet. We might try the place out again in the warmer weather to get some use out of the nearby lake.
