Area Information
Sweeping views of Muscongus Bay from this bright and sunny cottage on the shores of the Pemaquid Peninsula. Relax on the Oceanside deck and watch the crashing surf on distant ledges near New Harbor. The site has lawns and gardens in every direction and a path that leads down to the shore. While on the rocky shorefront you can collect sea glass and artifacts that have been tumbled by the surf. Walking south from the cottage you will come upon the "Rachael Carson Salt Pond" preserve. If you continue south 1/2 mile you will arrive at "Shaws Wharf" with the finest seafood meals in Maine in a casual dining atmosphere. If boating is your pleasure you can take a trip upon the "Hardy Boat" and cruise Muscongus Bay with a side trip to the Monhegan Island which lies 12 miles off shore. You can drive south 10 minutes to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse which was built in 1824 and is featured on the Maine State Quarter. The vista from the lighthouse are the most breath-taking views in Maine. Pemaquid Beach is a perfect place for a family swim and nature activities. Colonial Pemaquid is one of the earliest settlements of European occupation in North America. Archaeological excavations have unearthed many foundations from the 17th century many related to the historic Fort William Henry which is nearby. Enjoy your visit to New Harbor & Round Pond, fishing villages with fish houses that have piles of lobster traps and buoys. Many summer events to attend all season long.

Ken Gray's Bristol Cottage

October 21, 2014

I am a Maine native living in FL. I wanted to take my elderly Mom to Maine for one last visit. We rented Ken's cottage and had the greatest week of my life. The Ocean views were breath taking. The cottage was right off the ocean cove. The cottage itself was beautiful. The front consisted of large windows and at night I would fall to sleep listening to the ocean waves. I highly recommend this property. I would rent it again in a heart beat. . Thanks, Ken for a wonderful week with my Mom.

Owner's reply:

Jim, I am glad you had a great time at the cottage. it is a special location on the Pemaquid Peninsula and has a wonderful view of Muscongus Bay. Hopefully next year we will have a couple of kayaks at the beach which will allow renters to enjoy the ocean waves. thanks for takiing nice care of our cottage. Ken & Becca
