Hipster Bed-Stuy

Recent NY Times review of the neighborhood sums up the essence of this stunning, vibrant and constantly changing historical neighborhood. So many exciting restaurants and cafes opening up it's impossible to keep up with the changes. including famous Peaches and Saraghina pizza/bakery. Make sure to visit our local farmer's market!

Located in the historic district of Bedford-Stuyvesant; today a vibrant urban Caribbean/African American community (sandwiched in between the fascinating Hasidic areas of Crown Heights and Williamsburg), only 15 minutes from the Barclay Center, Prospect Park and Brooklyn Botanical Gardens/Zoo & Museum of Art.

Nowhere else can you find such luxurious, spacious living, in the heart of New York City and only a 20 minute subway ride to Greenwich Village. the neighborhood is quiet, neighbors are warm and very friendly and you will find an abundance of fresh fruit, seafood, meat and grocery stores -- New local restaurants and coffee shops are cropping up everyday and lines wrap around the block for famous new establishments, Peaches and (vegetarian) Saraghina. Fashionable Fort Greene and Williamsburg are only minutes away on foot, by bus or subway and home to some of today's best bars and restaurants in Brooklyn

Getting around

Excellent Subway and Bus services within a 5-7 minute walk. Subway ride to downtown Manhattan only 15 minutes Parking free, on the block

Getting here

The ride from JFK to our house is approximately 40 minutes. The city charge a flat rate from the airport to Brooklyn, which I believe is now $52 This would certainly be the easiest and most convenient way. Your best value would probably be the airtrain (free) to the subway (2.75 each) . but it would take over an hour and then another 5-7 minute walk from the subway to the house. Our closest subway is Kingston-Throop on the C line. You also have the option of supershuttle ($15 each) - but that would stop off at several destinations before you got to the house.

Interaction with guest

THE HOUSE Please note this is Edwardian Brownstone, built in 1901 is very spacious and full of charming character. Your living quarters are spread over three floors and include three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area, a study (off the living area separated by sliding doors), kitchen/dining area and laundry in the basement. There is one main entrance and one main staircase This house has 4 floors and the superintendent lives on the 4th floor. SHE HAS COMPLETELY SEPARATE FACILITIES AND DOES NOT SHARE ANY PART OF YOUR APARTMENT. The only part of the house she shares with you is the main entrance, the laundry facilities and the main staircase to her apartment. The super is very quiet, friendly & super helpful
