“Weekend of fun and relaxation!!”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2016

I stayed at the cabin for Labor Day weekend with my two friends and dog. The cabin is super homey and cozy. The lake was so close! An added touch. Everyone was super friendly. Jay and Barry were so helpful. Anything we needed they took care of right away. I will definitely be staying there again in the future.

“Very disappointing camp”

Reviewed 28 Feb 2016

This camp is not secluded. There were camps all around it. It is not located on the water. The wiring is unsafe. (There was overuse of extension cords to run appliances.) The water was discolored and not drinkable. The shower was dirty and the toilet was loose and banged the bedroom wall when used. It was a very cold weekend that we were there, and the heat was not adequate making our stay uncomfortably cold. We couldn't sleep in one bedroom because the heat did not work at all. We booked it for three nights but we left after the first night. The owner refunded us one night.

Owner's reply: I make it a point to put even the bad reviews of the cabin online. It's dishonest to put only the good ones. This guest did not like the house. I have tried, based on her suggestions, to improve things. I cannot control the weather however, but the house has electric heat baseboards and you can make it as warm as you like. I can only shrug my shoulders -- you cannot please everyone, but we do try. The cabin is always open and guests are encouraged to check it out anytime.

“Great cabins great price”

Reviewed 16 Feb 2016

Jay is a great vacation renter. Process for payment is quick and easy, and the cabin is nice and rustic, though quite comfortable for a small group. I've been recommending this site to my friends for years.

“Great Location for Southern Maine Exploration”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2015

House provided a great starting place for our exploration of the Southern Maine and New Hampshire areas. Clean, nicely appointed and a great price; we had the basic amenities that we needed for a very enjoyable trip. Extras such as canoe and fire pit were used and greatly appreciated. Owner and Manager Barry were great people to meet - very friendly and helpful.

Owner's reply: I'm glad they had a good time!

“Great place to get away”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2014

Loved the cottage it was warm and cozy. We enjoyed our stay even in a nor'easter with almost four inches of rain. We will definitely be back. Barry is a great guy talked to him on his morning walkes

Owner's reply: Thank you, I am glad you had a good time. Hope you will be back when the weather is better. Hope you got to Mt Washington. Jay

“AWESOME LOCATION”

Reviewed 18 Nov 2013

What a great location! Cute place right on the water. It included canoes and kayaks and was only a 5 minute walk to the public beach. Nice locationPerfect for families. The only negative feedback is that you could hear the traffic from the main road and when we stayed, the house could have used a good cleaning.

“Wonderful cabin for a simple getaway”

Reviewed 15 Feb 2013

We stayed in this accommodating cabin in early February 2013. Chips and wine were waiting for us as we entered the warm cabin. Barry, the neighbor across the street was a delight and took good care of us. The neighbours are very welcoming and thoughtful. The cabin is dog-friendly and ours felt right at home. North Conway is 30 mins west in NH and should be visited! Would consider going back in the summer time!

Owner's reply: Thank you for the nice review. I am sorry I did not get a chance to visit you, circumstances prevented me from coming up that week. I am glad you had a good time. Please feel free to visit again! Jay

“Great Cabin Great Hosts”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2013

What a great place to stay. We were greated upon arrival with a bottle of wine and some snacks... more than you would ever expect at any fancy hotel without paying an arm and a leg for it! The landlords are very nice, and knowledgeable of the surrounding areas. Answered all of our questions but did not intrude in the slightest! Plenty of books and movies to pass the time with. Fryeburg, right up the road, is a nice sleepy little village with pizza, hiking, and a bowling alley that looked fun. Cornish, down the road the opposite way, has some cozy restaurants and antique shops. No ATT&T or T-Mobile service at the cabin (there is full service for both carries about 3 miles up the road) BUT Verizon does receive at least 2 bars at the cabin all the time.

“Excellent weekend!”

Reviewed 21 Nov 2012

What an excellent cottage! Perfect privacy, rustic, comfortable. My boyfriend & I stayed 3 nights, there were great local places to hike, fryeburg is closeby for food & beer, the Back Burner right around the corner was awesome for a dinner date or afternoon beer. We enjoyed cooking some of our own meals in the cottage as well, and used the grill one night. Canoe ride around a perfectly calm pond, and watching shooting stars on the beach alone.....we'd go back in a heartbeat :)

“What a week!!!”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2012

Jay was a great host and had everything we would need except for food and clothes. The cottage was a perfect and the screenhouse definetly got used. The grill, with the full propane bottle, was used every day. The beach area was empty for most of the week so it was almost our own private beach. We had a wonderful week and would consider renting it again!!

Owner's reply: Thanks! Glad you had a good time!
