Area Information
The big horns are one of the best kept secrets and we hope you won't pass on your discovery indiscriminately. If history is your passion this area abounds with everything from prehistoric sites including dinosaur tracks ,Indian petroglyphs and famous medicine wheel, to the Bozeman trail and related military forts and Indian war sites. outdoor recreation is terrific with world class fly fishing, hiking, horseback riding, skiing , snowmobiling, snow shoeing and wildlife. If you don't see wildlife your not looking. You can see deer, wild turkeys, antelope and bald eagles everywhere. You may see elk, moose, coyotes, bear, mountain lions and even wolverines. Bird watching is spectacular due to the clean and pristine nature of the area. The cloud peak wilderness is just a hike away. Local museums include the famous King saddle museum, the Bradford Briton ranch, and buffalo bills hang out the Sheridan Inn. Great restaurants and shopping in near by Sheridan. A bit further afield is the Custer Battlefield, Cody's Buffalo Bill museum, Thermopolis hot springs, and yellowstone is half a day drive. Events include sheridan rodeo, crow agency pow wow, bighorn Mtn blue grass festival and bighorn Mtn run. Too many things to list and too little time to do it all in one visit.
