A magical getaway
February 18, 2014
My stay at the cottage was one of my favorite getaways ever. It's so cozy and colorful, you feel at home instantly. The porch looking out on the lake is gorgeous. You immediately feel peaceful and relaxed. The kitchen was a joy to cook in, very modern and well equipped. I slept so well too, the beds were super comfy!! The swimming was great, the water is so clean. Also it's so private in case you like skinny dipping... I do.

Lakeside retreat with privacy and comfort
February 7, 2014
The cottage at Saponic Lake is fabulous any time of year. We have visited many times and always return home feeling refreshed and renewed. The cottage is just a few steps from Saponic Lake and is furnished with soft beds, a well stocked kitchen, and comfortable furnishings. It's the perfect spot for swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, and occasional outings to the grocery store and specialty shops in nearby Lincoln. The dock is a great place to sit and listen to the loons, watch the sun go down, and just relax, relax, relax. We vacation here to spend quiet time in the Maine woods and swim in a pristine Maine lake. Highly recommended!
Saponac is all that and then some...we have watched eagles pluck fish out of the water and take off to feed in their nest nearby....the swimming is marvelous...we have especially enjoyed the refreshing water after a long hike in Gulf Hagas which is approximately a 45 minute drive to get to from the cottage. Maine's own Grand Canyon...
A weekend get-away
February 7, 2014
My husband and I have spent many weekends at this cozy cottage on Saponac. It is an ideal location to get away from the hubbub of work and busy schedules. Sitting out on the dock and taking in the beauty of the scenery is spectacular and very calming and soothing to the soul. Having a drink on the porch before and after dinner is very relaxing and enjoyable. To top off the evening, it is fun to watch one of the many, many movies that the owner has readily available before climbing into the comfy bed for a very restful, peaceful night of slumber. Enjoy!!!
One morning, my husband and I awoke to a gray mist over the water....our bed is on the screened in porch so we feel very much a part of the natural world around us...I thought I saw something unusual off the dock and when I looked closer I could plainly see that there were 18 loons in a mass staying very close to the dock. We had never witnessed anything like this. They stayed there for at least an hour and then dispersed and drifted off across the pond.....

We have stayed at this cottage numerous times over the last 10 years. It is a beautiful, peaceful spot. The cottage is decorated is a lovely, very comfortable way. The views from the screened in porch are stunning. We have spent a number of mornings, afternoon, and evenings on the shore enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the lovely lake. It is a truly special "get away" that we recommend without reservation.

Linda has created a fine nest. Comfortable furniture, beds, wood burning stove, cooking supplies and charm abound. The waterfront, steps away from the cottage is special in all ways. Wildlife, ever changing scenery and a dock to use for boating, sitting, fishing, reading and being lulled to sleep. We have been back many times over the past 10 years. We would highly recommend it.
