Area Information
Calafell's monumental heritage it is worth highlighting the medieval castle, the Romanesque church of Santa Creu, from the Lombardic age -11th century- and with remains of mural paintings in the apse. The house is located next to the church and castle.

Also worth visiting the Iberian village of Les Toixoneres (5th to 2nd centuries BC), which is currently known as the Iberian Citadel of Calafell and which has been rebuilt and the atmosphere reconstructed so that visitors can conjure up the civilization which inhabited the area 2,500 years ago.

In 2006 Calafell won the Family Holiday Destination award created by the Catalan Tourist Board.
This award recognize Calafell as a tourist town in resources and offering quality services especially for families.

And for nature lovers and sports, Tourism Calafell has created a guide to hiking and mountain biking

WORTH VISITING outside Calafell
The Penedés region has been making waves not only for its famed cava production (Spanish sparkling wine), but also for its rich variety in white and red wines. The landscape in the Penedés is warm and gentle, bathed in a golden Mediterranean light, and marked by the many civilizations that passed through or settled the area. Thus, the region is also a place of fascinating historical wealth, traceable through the architectural landmarks left behind by ancient Romans, medieval monks and modernist masters.

Tarragona 'the Balcony of the Mediterranean' is, owing to the Romans, arguably the most elegant city of the Iberian peninsula.
The Roman ruins of Tarragona have been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

In Vendrell (Sant Salvador de Comarruga, 10 minutes by car) you could visit the Pau Casals Auditorium where there're concerts of classis music, jazz, etc., and where you could visit the Museum of the great artist from Catalonia.

Amusement Parks Port Aventura & Aqualeon.

Barcelona well must be seen

Sitges Recognized as one of the most charming and lovely towns and prestige of the Catalan coast.
Sitges is known for the International Film Festival, Sitges Carnival, local Festivities, Theatre Festival, Vintage, Gay Pride, concerts ... Its cultural and artistic, its extensive and varied range of activities throughout the year and its intense nightlife, justify a visit, which promises to be unforgettable.

Montserrat located near the city of Barcelona
"Montserrat" literally means "jagged (serrated) mountain" in Catalan. It describes its peculiar aspect with multitude of rock formations, which are visible from a great distance. It is well known as the site of the Benedictine abbey, Santa Maria de Montserrat, which hosts the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary and which is identified by some [2] with the location of the Holy Grail in Arthurian myth.

All in all it is a great place to have holidays.
