Rented this cabin for my niece and her family. They were delighted: with the little cabin itself, the wonderful river views and the great river access. Enjoyed playing with the various water toys, esp. the swan raft. A bike and the dart board also were used. Only downsides were the train (a HUGE freight came through after midnight, which is unusual) and the fact that a flock of Canada geese had been visiting the beach. My niece and her family will be back!

perfect girls weekend

October 14, 2014

This cozy little house was perfect for our annual girls weekend! Vic met us at the house to turn over the keys and give us a run through on how everything worked which was very helpful. The road the house is on rarely has a car go by, so peaceful and quiet. The river was just as beautiful as the pictures depict, and the fall foliage this time of year was breathtaking! Callicoon is a happening little town, local grocery/liquor store and tons of cute shops, not to mention how good the food is everywhere! Would definitely recommend this place for the perfect getaway!

The cabin was nice and clean and well stocked with everything our party of four needed. The view is breathtaking, easily the best on the river, and the fire pit proved a welcome spot for prepping meals, roasting s'mores, and swapping stories well into the night. The town of Callicoon proved a charming, quiet spot for our labor day weekend getaway...the Sunday farmer's market is a MUST for all visitors, as is the Callicoon brewery and the small Bahn Mi shop tucked away in an alley between two lovely antique shops. I also strongly suggest a quick trip to nearby Narrowsburg's main street. Vic was a pleasure to do business with. We are already planning our next stay.

great place for float trips on the mainstem

June 1, 2014

Had a great stay at this place. The location is amazing, with the front lawn right on the water. The house is adequately furnished and is great for fishermen. It lacks all the bells and whistles of the upscale clubs upriver, but is perfect for float trips as you can pull out in front of the house with canoes or just downstream with a drift boat. Lots of rainbows upstream, along with Shad, Bass and various other types. We also had a great fire in the fire pit at night. Good time.

Pure relaxation

August 28, 2013

We stayed 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean, quiet, and bug-free. We departed feeling re-energized after a few days of canoeing, fishing, BBQing, sitting by the fire pit, and relaxing by the river.

Great Family fun!

August 2, 2013

Thank you Vic for renting your home on such short notice and for being so accommodating. Our kids had an amazing time playing all day in the river. Whether it was fishing with their dad, swimming or just simply throwing rocks in the water.

Lovely weekend

May 29, 2013

We spent 3 days and came home really relaxed. The first day was chilly and it was raining most of the time. The owners turned the heating on and it was warm inside. The house has a lot of big windows with magnificent views on the river and mountains, so even though we had to stay inside on the first day, it was not annoying. The house is well-equipped with full kitchen and utensils. High speed internet is available. The area outside is huge with wide access to the river. You can admire outstanding views or swim in the river. Moreover, the house is located in a quiet neighborhood, so if you want to leave it all behind it is the place for you. Thank you for a gorgeous stay!

beautiful spot, very restful

July 31, 2010

The location is amazing. The proximity to the river and the surrounding nature was very restful. On morning jogs it was common to see 3-5 deer. My wife and I brought our 2 daughters (9 and 6) and they had a blast. Lots of fun in the water swimming, fishing, and on the canoe. It is indeed a quiet place, the only exception was 3-4 times during the stay a train came by 100yrds away (but only for 90sec). Bed situation was a little uncomfortable for a week long stay, but we made due just fine. Callicoon is a surprisingly hip town. Great 1 screen movie theater and cute shops downtown (2mi down the road). We were looking for a nice house that we could afford with a fire pit, body of water nearby, and a boat or canoe. We felt like we were rolling the dice as we are first time family vacation-ers. This was a huge success for us and came back well rested and centered. We would go again. Victor was very kind and easy to communicate with.

Victor's Cabin

October 26, 2007

Victor's cabin was great. My husband & I spent our 19th anniversary there and had a wonderful time. The wildlife was amazing! We brought our kayaks up and were on the river every morning and every evening. The fishing was great; I caught an 8 pound small mouth bass (among several smaller ones). We watched an immature bald eagle eat a fish from the charming breakfast nook, and there were deer everywhere. Great photo ops. A very serene setting. I hope to come back again soon! Thank you, Victor, for a fantastic getaway!

week on the deleware

February 11, 2006

My family and I stayed at victor Kask,s cabin last summer. The cabin was very clean and had all the comforts of home. I have two boys who enjoyed their time completey. We went fishing, swimming, and boating and even eeling at night. My wife and I enjoyed the amazing setting that can not be matched. We loved just relaxing on the river. The location of the cabin has to be one of the best in New york.
