Description of the Cambridge vacation home rental
Eastern shore waterfront farm. New, clean, comfortable, spacious, well-equipped, charming, accommodating, private, unique, light, airy, bright, cheerful, fishing and crabbing, dock, boat ramp.

Make your way to Fishing Creek Retreat down the long, private quarter-of-a-mile driveway where you'll be greeted by a one hundred year old Sycamore tree, weeping willows and the sun bouncing off the creek.

Fishing Creek Retreat is a large stone Cape Cod home lovingly rebuilt from the ground up in 2004 with all modern conveniences. Step inside to the clean, cheerful, spacious yet cozy home with a lodge-like feel complete with stone fireplace and heated tile flooring. Drop your bag, grab a cool beverage and sink into large nautical blue sectional sofa to take in the view from the full wall of windows looking onto the creek. Once you catch your breath, take a tour of your home away from home.

Upstairs you'll find wonderful cherry wood floors as you make your way to the large Master Suites 1 and 2 complete with full baths and walk-in closets. These bedrooms are very private from each other. Full laundry is upstairs as well.

Downstairs there are two bedrooms. The Chesapeake Room has a double bed and large walk-in closet and is great for the parents of kids in the Bunk Room right next door. Kids love our Bunk Room because of the two twin-over-double bunk beds! Parents love the Bunk Room because it gives the kids private play area with a DVD player/TV so the adults enjoy the great room within ear shot.

The kitchen has all modern appliances, stainless steel fridge with ice-maker, gas stovetop, oven and warming drawer. We've provided all you need to keep your family and friends well-fed and well- hydrated during your stay including a blender and our favorite, the electric griddle for large pancake breakfasts, plus a 12-cup thermal coffee maker!

The main living area/great room has 9ft ceilings and large windows everywhere. The screened porch with its vaulted, wood ceiling and comfy seating provides serenity while you sip your coffee in the morning and take in the unbelievable glassy water, the sound of birds and the occasional visit from the river otters. Stay up late and enjoy a bug free evening with the sounds of crickets and owls.

Outside a new large dock and boat ramp let you enjoy the water. Play horseshoes right next to the water under the giant trees. Bring your boat or use ours; we've provided a paddle boat, kayaks, and canoe. We hope you'll enjoy this home as much as we do. Over the years, as we've entertained friends and family, here's what they've had to say:

"We never left the property even though Cambridge is just a few minutes away. We just spent our time reading, eating, strolling the farm, sunbathing on the dock, kayaking, and having happy-hours on the screen porch --this home had all we needed to decompress." Thea H., family friend

"Can I have the king bed? It's so comfortable I didn't want to get out of it!" -- Patty Smith, family friend

"The kids got such a kick out of crabbing from the dock each night. This place must be magical to get the kids to put down their gameboys and not ask for them all weekend!" -- Marlene Z., family friend
