Description of the Canyon Lake vacation home rental
A vacation at our "Travis" lakefront property is a vacation you will remember for a lifetime. Canyon Lake is a unique community among rolling hills in the midst of lake and river waters. Water activities are easily accessible since we are located directly on the water, and you will be able to conveniently enjoy all the lake has to offer. Head down our private trail which leads to the cove to swim, fish or try out one of the kayaks. Or just hang out on the waters edge and take in the beauty and the warmth of the sun as you enjoy a cool beverage by the lake.

You will find the home to be very accommodating with plenty of space for friends and family gatherings (we have other properties available on the same street for larger groups). The home has been newly remodeled and feels brand new with many modern day conveniences including: a fully equipped kitchen with tiled counters, an entertainment center, cable TV and computer with internet access. There is a ping-pong table, Wii game console and a variety of board games to be enjoyed by the kids or young at heart.

The master suite has a private bathroom with shower and two of the guest bedrooms have water views and outside access to the decks. There are two sets of bunk beds and a baby crib provided for our youngest guests.

Area Information
The Guadalupe River feeds Canyon Lake and has some of the best tubing, rafting and kayaking in Texas. It's located only minutes from the home. Gruene Hall, Texas's oldest dance hall, is located on the banks of the Guadalupe River with its famous live music and is only a short 15 minute scenic drive away. Gruene also offers great restaurants, shops and spas.

While visiting, you may also want to take a day trip to New Braunfels, a quick 25-minute drive away. It is home to the world's largest water park, Schlitterbahn, which is situated on the banks of the crystal clear Comal River. Tubing is also very popular on the Comal River.

Situated between Austin and San Antonio, there are unlimited tourist attractions in the area. If your vacation plans include a trip to San Antonio to visit Sea World, Fiesta Texas, the Riverwalk, Natural Bridge Caverns, or the Alamo, we are only short drive to US 281 or IH-35 to take you quickly into San Antonio. Austin, known for its live music and numerous exquisite restaurants is only an hour drive away and is well worth a day trip or a night out on the town. And don't forgot to visit San Marcos with its famous Tanger outlet malls or the Power Olympic Whitewater Kayaking Center located on the San Marcos River.

Day trips to heritage-rich central Texas towns, such as Fredericksburg, Kerrville, Johnson City and Bandera, Wimberley, Boerne, Blanco, San Marcos make us a top location for lodging. Here you can see for yourself what small town Hill Country living is all about. Many of these small communities have yearly festivals that are enjoyable to attend. For the shopaholics, Prime and Tanger outlet malls (which are the most visited attractions in Texas) are only a 45 minute drive away.

We have created "day trip" itineraries to these destinations with our recommended activities, sights and dining suggestions. Please let us know if you are interested in this information and we will email you.

Whatever your preference, you are within easy reach of a number of activities and destinations including: both wineries and breweries, Market Days, golf courses, shopping, and the numerous water sports and recreation possibilities provided by Canyon Lake and the surrounding Guadalupe and Comal Rivers.

Labor Day Stay 2009

September 9, 2009

The home was nice but unfortunately many of the items that attracted us to the area and home were not there. For example, fishing was not good, no way to really swim in the cove, and the people in the neighborhood were not nice. This was disappointing. The property owner was very nice and the transaction and stay were good; just disappointed with the home attractions.

Owner Supplied Testimonials

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Canyon Lake. You all have done an outstanding job with the home and property. Your attention to detail, with everything we could want in the home was wonderful. The location, view and amenities were very impressive. Thanks again!

Wow! What a fabulous home! We couldn't have asked for a better place on Canyon Lake. The views from house and decks are just amazaing and the home was well cleaned and ready for our arrival. We can't wait to stay there again. We will tell our friends about you.
