Description from manager

A beautifully converted, Grade II listed former miner's cottage, situated by the River Rheidol near Capel Bangor, with two bedrooms accommodating four people.Penlon is a beautifully restored miner's cottage, now Grade II listed, near the River Rheidol in Mid Wales, two miles from the village of Capel Bangor. The cottage has two bedrooms; a twin room and a room with bunk beds on the ground floor. There is also a shower room, a kitchen, a dining room and a sitting room with a woodburner and a sofa bed. Outside, the garden is lawned with furniture and across the road at the front of the cottage runs the River Rheidol, across which lies a paddock where sheep are occasionally kept. In a wonderful position for walking and cycling, and exploring this beautiful, diverse region, Penlon is a charming holiday base for friends and families alike.

Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 2 cars. Patio with furniture. One well-behaved dog welcome (to be kept on lead when sheep are in the paddock). Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 2 miles. Note: River and paddock across the road from property, paddock may be occupied by sheep. Note: River fishing rights included, please contact the owners for more details.

Region: Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Town: The university town of Aberystwyth lies on the west coast of Wales and is a thriving metropolis of shops, restaurants, pubs and tea-rooms. This vibrant location also has museums to explore, excellent cinema and is home to the National Library of Wales. A typically Victorian promenade lines the seafront and the cliff-top ruins of Aberystwyth castle dominate the entire town. A wealth of attractions are designed to entertain and inspire visitors to explore further afield. The scenic 20-mile cycle route and footpath on the Ystwyth Trail follows a wonderful woodland and river path and links Aberystwyth to Tregaron. A trip on the Steam Railway from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge is a great way to visit the falls. The seaside resort of Borth is seven miles away with three miles of sandy beach and the 'Animalarium' to keep all ages amused. With so many attractions, the castle, Welsh craft centres and stunning countryside to explore, this is a perfect base for a family holiday.
