Hale Lana...located at the Manini Beach section of Kealakekua Bay...a small,quiet,low key shoreline community. It is situated among a mix of local style and unique newer homes. It is an ideal retreat for couples or honeymooners. Only 459 steps to enter the crystal clear water at palm lined Manini beach,across from the Captain Cook monument,for the best snorkeling in the islands. The pristine bay is a protected marine preserve providing numerous water activities and spinner dolphin sightings [whales in winter]. Hale Lana is removed noise and traffic and is fully fenced and gated for added privacy. The home is a new pole and beam house showcasing natural woods,granite,new tropical furnishing and a ten jet Jacuzzi tub. There are large indoor and outdoor walk-in showers. The high open beam ceilings, the roof cupola,decking and louvred transoms are reminiscent of a boat or "Noah's Arc",thus the name "Hale Lana" [floating house]. This also allows the balmy breezes and scents of the surrounding plumeria trees to float through. There are ample lanais to relax in sun or shade and take in the sounds of the waves and the 360 views of the pali [mountain] and bay. It is easy to let yourself 'hang loose" at Hale Lana!
Grocery stores,shopping and numerous restaurants are a 15 minute drive away. There are many areas to explore on foot. Historic Place of Refuge [dating from the 1500's and featuring Hawaiian history and cultural displays,picnic tables,whale watching and unobstructed sunsets] is three miles south. Keei [a crescent shaded white sand surfing beach,home to many visable turtles] is a short drive or walk away. Hale Lana is conveniently located between"downtown" Kailua-Kona [for extensive shopping,dining and night-life] and the volcano and green and black sand beaches. This makes it an ideal "home base". Relax on the numerous beaches nearby or get on the road,for short or day trips,to easily explore all the Big Island has to offer!
