Description of the Carmel Valley vacation cabin rental
Congratulations! You have just discovered a secret, historic treasure, off the beaten path, and tucked away in picturesque Carmel Valley,(just 1 mile away from Bernardus) This creekside property, built in 1930, was established by our great grandparents Grace and Paul Veeder, as their idyllic vacation retreat from their foggy home in Pebble Beach.

Lovingly preserved and freshly restored by our family, this rustic beauty sparkles anew! Architecture is reminiscent of Yosemite's Ahwahnee Hotel, with cathedral ceilings, stripped redwood beams, and 4 river rock fireplaces.

Cherished by our 5 family generations, as a private hideaway home, The Ranch House is now offered as an exclusive, executive family retreat that today's multiple generations can share as they enjoy precious time together.

Exquisite kitchen, 2 quaint bathrooms (pedestal tub/shower in the guest suite and a candlelit fireplace shower in the master suite) with custom furnishings throughout. Careful preservation and upgrades adorn this historic gem.

Just 15 minutes from Carmel, and its coastal fog, The Ranch House at Garzas Creek soaks in Carmel Valley sunshine most of the year. Minutes away to golf, horseback riding, shopping, fine dining, and wine tasting.

Our 3 bedroom / 2 bath rustic Ranch House comfortably accommodates 6 - 8 people (2 queens and 2 bunk beds) with Sheraton Sweet Sleeper mattresses, and luxury linens for the most discriminating travelers. The Ranch House offers the best of yesterday with the luxuries of today. If your group is larger than 8, we have additional accommodations including a comfortable LazyBoy queen sofa sleeper with air mattress topper, and trundle single - to sleep up to 11. (extra charge over 8 people)y

We invite you to come experience this exceptional hideaway, in a secluded canyon on 50+ acres, (1/4 mile off a quiet residential road). Features include: custom kitchen with radiant-heat tiled floors, tiled counters, custom redwood cabinets, spacious great room with majestic river rock fireplace, original wide plank redwood floors, original "twig furniture," Native American and early Californian art, 8' pool table, massive outdoor stone fireplace on terrace, new private hot tub, seasonal creek, and plenty of land to hike on and explore with exclusive, private trailhead access to Garland Regional Park.

Equestrians, bring your horses on vacation, and stable up to 3 horses steps away from The Ranch House in our covered shed row, with 12 x 24' stalls. Ideal for trail riders and show horses. Trail riders will enjoy private access to 4500 acres of rugged mountain terrain, mountain streams and hidden Redwood Canyon in Garland Park.

Horse show participants will have peace of mind, knowing your equine friend is under your watchful eye - away from the bustle of show grounds. You both will relax in comfort, quiet, and convenience. Show venues are nearby. The Carmel Valley Trail and Saddle Club is a hack away. Pebble Beach Stables are 25 minutes away. Monterey County Fairgrounds are 30 minutes away.

Reserve your time at the newest...yet oldest...vacation bed and barn in Carmel Valley! As you relax in the creekside hot tub under a brilliant canopy of stars, The Ranch House at Garzas Creek will become YOUR favorite vacation spot!

The "perfect" place

September 28, 2011

Our family recently stayed for 7days and we wish we could have stayed for a month more. The home is situated in Carmel Valley in close proximity to the shops of Carmel and Monterey. The home itself provided every convenience you can think of from a hot tub, great kitchen, tv, pool table, and fabulous fireplaces. Upon arrival you are treated by a groundskeeper who gives you the grand tour...and the entire home is spotlessly clean. We've stayed in many places and this is the absolute can tell the family takes great pride in their historic home. Another huge plus was we could bring our best furry friends with us. ..the yard is manicured and fully fenced in. Children can feed the chickens and ducks and pet "Tank" the tortoise...swing from a tire swing, and roast marshmallows in the fireplace...Adults can relax in chairs situated all around the property and enjoy the peace and quiet. Great wineries to visit nearby as well as multiple nurseries, and the Barnyard shopping Center...There is a Safeway close by if you need something. Overall the best, next to Disneyland, "the happiest place on earth"

Owner Supplied Testimonials

3/16/2009, Ben Pearson, UI Foundry, Burlingame, CA: "This place is simply amazing and trumped all of my expectations. Our small company had a corporate retreat and took full advantage of the entertainment, giant outdoor fireplace, hot tub, and even had a few brave souls dip in the chilly creek which runs just steps away from the house. Inside and out the home is brimming with charm, history, and luxury.

We look forward to our next visit!"

1/1/2009 LoraLee, CA: "We greatly enjoyed your special Ranch House! It was such a treat to get away to a spectacular spot for rest and relaxation! The big fireplace and beautiful dining room table made our evenings memorable. The Bedrooms were charming with Robes in the closet waiting for us upon arrival. Our dogs loved the big fenced yard and treasured moments playing together outside under the big oak trees.

Colleen did an excellent job restoring the Cabin with antiques and pictures from the past. The Cabin has everything you could ever need while on a weekend adventure! It features a rustic and romantic setting with candles and heated floors throughout. We felt blessed to have the opportunity to share quality time with our friends at such an incredible Cabin! Thank you for making that possible. We look forward to returning someday soon!"

1/5/2009 The Hughes Family, Oakland & Santa Clara, CA, and
Portland, OR: "This beautiful and lovingly restored home is a truly unique treasure. It is the perfect mix of old world charm and modern amenities. We adventured, played board games by the fire, visited the horses, hiked in the hills, cooked great meals and ate them at the gorgeous dining table, and most of all, we created lasting memories that we will treasure always. Thank you for sharing such a special place with us. We would love to stay again!"

1/3/2009, Daniella M., Los Angeles, CA: "The Ranch House is truly the ideal of picturesque cozy comfort and hospitality. Every detail is perfect, every desire anticipated. Every moment is a decision on what part to enjoy next. Is it cooking a meal in the amply tooled chef's kitchen? A game in front of the huge river rock indoor fireplace? Basking by the outdoor fireplace? A round of pool? Curling up to watch a movie in granny's coop? Stargazing in the spa? The fairytale trails through redwoods and oaks dusted with Spanish Moss in Garzas park? A soak in the deep porcealin tub - to step onto the heated tile floor? And the hospitality! The spa was warmed and fire ready upon arrival-- wood supplied. There was an answer to every question and a special guided trip to feed the beautiful ranch horses. I only wish we could have stayed longer."
