GROUND FLOOR: This spacious apartment has a very large living/dining room. Three couches are in front of a lovely travertine fireplace, which is the central focus of the living room area. One part of the room serves as the dining area, with an elegant table that accommodates up to ten people. The large eat-in kitchen, has a cozy area with a table seating six people that can also serve as a working area for the cooks. Wood beams contribute to giving the kitchen a rustic feel. The kitchen is well equipped with a fireplace with modern appliances and pizza oven. Adjacent to the kitchen is a utility room, which has a tall refrigerator/freezer, washing machine and a sink. The three bedrooms all face the garden and the extensive agricultural fields beyond. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and is en suite to a bathroom with a large Jacuzzi tub with a hand shower. The middle twin bedroom in the row has two four-poster beds made of wrought iron. This bedroom is en suite to a bathroom with a shower with wrought iron accessories. The third bedroom has a king-size bed; the adjacent bathroom with a shower is in the hall.
A charming country house between Tuscany and Umbria
Casoro is located in a beautiful rural setting between two lakes: the Lake Chiusi, which can be seen from the house, and the larger Lake Trasimeno, which is just a short drive away.
The estate was originally a unique building lived by the peasants' families, then it was divided into two independent sections belonging now to two different owners. The here offered Casoro house has its private garden and its own pool. It is seperated by a an iron fence with winding jasmine hedges from the other house. A stone paved patio flank the entrance door and has been furnished for al fresco meals. Beyond is the garden with the private pool set amongst herbs bushes and olive trees, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside.
The house has been fully restored. The interiour is an atmospheric ambience designed with loving care for details. The layout and the decoration were a project of the property owner Benedetta. She invested a lot of time and love in choosing the right marble, tiles and light fixtures for the kitchen and the bathrooms, and in finding the right material for the sofas and armchairs as well as having a few choice pieces of antique family furniture restored.
The ground floor of Casoro measures 170 square metres and comfortably sleeps 6 people. The upper floor, which is reached by an external staircase, measures 120 square metres and sleeps 4 more guests. Therefore, this is the perfect place for two families traveling together: as each floor has its own kitchen and living room, you can divide up your group easily. The outdoor dining area is large enough to seat 10 people around a table.
You can choose if renting the entire house for 10 people or just the ground floor for 6 people. If renting only the ground floor the upper floor will be closed (and not rented to anyone else).
Chiusi, Sarteano and Chianciano are visible from the garden area, as well as Monte Amiata and Monte Cetona, two of the highest peaks in Tuscany. The country lane that passes by Casoro is lightly trafficked and it offers quick access to the two small villages Vaiano and Gioiella, both 2 minutes away from Casoro, each one with stores for basic shopping. The town of Chiusi with supermarkets, shops, restaurants and train station is only 5 miles away.
Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza, Cortona, Orvieto, Perugia, Assisi, Lake Trasimeno and Todi are within an easy distance. But we also highly recommend a visit to the small medieval “borghi” in the area, full of hidden treasures such as Chiusi, Paciano, Castiglione del Lago, Città della Pieve. Rome and Florence are 2 hours by car and in approx. 1 hour by train.
