Description of the Cayo vacation cabin rental
Located in Carmelita Gardens, Santa Familia in the Cayo district, the Tortuga cabin is uniquely situated to provide you with a relaxing and fun-filled vacation. Carmelita Gardens is the only fully self-sustainable, totally off-grid community in Belize. The Tortuga is solar powered and uses rain water (which is treated) for its water source.

Within Carmelita Gardens, you have the opportunity to fish the Belize River, bird watch, see actual Mayan ruins on the property and relax as never before. You are close to San Ignacio, the heart of Cayo, where you can catch tours of local attractions, visit the largest farmers market in Belize and enjoy the Belizean culture.

Translated from Spanish, the name Tortuga means turtle, or tortoise, which it reflects with its interior decorating. The name was chosen as a nod to the Mayan culture as one of the animals depicting within the Mayan calendar.

The Tortuga is a beautiful river-side home, situated atop stilts. Its gorgeous deck provides you with an incredible view of the Belize River and Carmelita Gardens.

At the Tortuga, you can feel at home with friends and family in this two-bedroom, one bath cottage that can sleep up to 6 people.

The Tortuga is equipped with air conditioning, as well as fans and cool breezes, to keep you comfortable.

Tortuga is a quiet, relaxing location for you to begin your Cayo adventure.
