Description of the Charleston vacation townhouse rental

This 2 bedroom, 1 and 2- ½ baths Townhouse is located in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant. 1500+ sq.ft. means each room is spacious, at least 1/3 larger than most.

Located 1 mile to Sullivan's Island Beach, 6 miles to Historic Charleston, 12 miles to the airport, 2 miles to Shem Creeks famous seafood restaurants, 4 miles to the Yorktown at Patriots Point, and 1 mile to Pitt Street Bridge, this Townhouse offers one King size Bed in large master bedroom as well as a full size, all wood futon. One queen and a set of bunk beds in second bedroom, plus same futon along with new Simmon's sofa in LR. It is comfortably prepared for sleeping 4 adults and 2-4 children (+port-a-crib), or 5 MAX adults. The 2 Jack and Jill bathrooms uptairs share 1 shower/tub in the middle with seperate entrances from Master and hall baths. Then there is another 1/2 bath downstairs. We have 40" HDTV in LR, 32" flatscreen in each BR.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all but your groceries and the large dining room seats 7 comfortably. The living area is large and comfy, arranged for family fun. A full laundry room is off of the living room. That room opens onto the small back porch and small backyard with grill and hammock. There is a covered front porch as well. We keep a few beach chairs, a medium cooler, and a some beach toys ( as well as non-beach toys) for guests to use. I also have info for a service that will set you up with wood and canvas loungers and umbrellas each morn. 2 adult bikes plus 1 child bike. There are 2 parking spaces, private to our townhouse.

The charming vacation home is decorated in a tropical island/beach motif and is located on a quit cul-de-sac with no street traffic in one of Charlestons top communities.

Walk 1 mile to Sullivans islands gorgeous beach and fun pubs, or 1 mile the other direction to Old Pitt Street Bridge, a 1000-foot pier, is a favorite biking, walking, crabbing, fishing destination on the Intercoastal Waterway with incredible sunsets overlooking downtown Charleston. A full shopping center is less than 2 blocks walk. There are five top golf courses within 10 to 20 minutes drive and many more 30-45 minutes.

One of our best features is that we are located in a much lower traffic area than most of the Charleston Area. Mount Pleasants Old Village is accessible to downtown and beaches without entering the main traffic areas of Hwy 17 which have become a burden to our city. Directions will be direct and simple and involve few complicating factors. This can make a serious difference in your experience.

It was built in 1978, fully remodeled last in 1989, so it is somewhat "dated", but clean. At this time (7/2/15), we still choose to offer very low rates for the location and space, rather than upgrade 35k worth and raise the rates. The Village is the nicest area, but all the brand new places are miles up the HWY.

( We also have a 1BR (king bed)/1BA next door which is a more updated condo offering all wood flooring, and a King size Rice Bed in bedroom as well as a top line queen sleer in LR. The full bath with extra deep tub/shower is located thru BR. The living area is open concept with large comfy denim sleeper and wing back chair, plus 42' flat screen, small kitchen fully equipped, and dining table seats 4 comfortably. A stack washer/dryer is in hall closet. Please ask about the great rates and availability. We have another site for it on here, 76129, as well as our beachfront condo, 58106, and our familie's 6 BR beachfront home, 55476 : )

We split fees for PAYPAL, but do not feel comfortable having your credit card info in these crazy days of identity theft.

(We provide a lmited amount of start-up paper goods, soaps, etc.)

Loved the access to Sullivan island beach and little town. Very good value.

Owner's reply:

Thank you! Our location and size afor a great price are the deal. We regularly look into re-doing kitchen, baths, and floors, but would have to charge more. So for now, we stick with being a bargain : )
Do come back again,

Great location and comfy stay

May 4, 2014

The house is exactly like what's being described. It's a bit dated but comfortable with southern harms. The location is great, only 12 min to historical downtown and 5 min to trader joe's and wholefoods. Susan showed me the way to have best sunset view of Charleston which is 1.2 miles from the house on Pitt street, a hidden gem in Charleston to see the boat, fishing pier, boardwalk and sunset. Overall we had a great stay!

Susan Player

Owner's reply:

Thanks Qing! Hopefully you meant :Southern Charms" : ) We would love to have you back. We also yearly debate the option of a $30,000 renovation to update the place compared to the fantastic bargains we continue to offer if we don't spend that money. So far, our guests have voted for "bargain".

Great Trip - too short of a stay.

Wanted a few days away while my husband worked Charleston Area. We stayed at Myrtle Court with my brother and his wife and son. Susan was great to work with. Loved the closeness of the beaches and Charleston. Hope to stay again soon.

Great Location/Accomodations

April 16, 2013

This condo was perfect for us! It was roomy and comfortable. Having the washer and dryer there was really helpful so we could immediately take care of sandy beach clothes. We loved the proximity to Publix also as we tried to balance eating out at the restaurants with eating in. The location was quiet, but perfect because it was really convenient to a public beach and downtown Charleston. The only negative I can think of is that the house has a musty odor which could cause a problem for people with allergies.

Susan Player

Owner's reply:

Thanks and I hope you return. The place is 38 years old, and very close to the water, so a bit musty yes, but clean : )

We were totally blown away by how beautiful this was! The place was really, really clean, furniture so comfy and welcoming! I just wish we had stayed longer! I saw the pictures on the website, but they did not do justice to the real thing!! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! Next time we will stay at least a week or more!

Absolutely wonderful!

Extremely convenient to everywhere we wanted to go! We walked in and were so pleased with the townhouse, the little touches that made it so welcoming and homey and the roominess the notebook with all the information was a great idea, we used it the first night! You must add POE's on Sullivan Island that was great and the best fish tacos! Susan you were great to work with and it was a pleasure doing the business end of it with you! Thank you for letting us bring our little Dooley with us, he enjoyed his visit also. Would LOVE to plan a trip next year with the grandkids! Thank you for your helpfulness and we had a great vacation, your area is lovely and we loved it. Thanks for the hospitality that you showed and we look forward to another visit!

The house is a sweet town house in a perfect location - close to everything. Equipped well for children. We didn't even take out the games and books we brought with us from home. Everything is made with good taste. The owner is also very helpful. We have been there during Christmas vacation, and found out the place is great to spend winter vacation too. Highly recommended!

Susan, Our stay at Myrtle Court was very accomodating. The distribution of beds was wonderful and there was even a pack and play for the little one! We enjoyed eating our meals on the large family table and found the kitchen to be fully equiped. The location is great! I especially appreciated the cleanliness of the home. It is definitely a "home away from home". It was so welcoming when we arrived. We appreciated the special care taken in preparing the home for us. Music was playing, the fans and AC were on and even lights were on to add a welcome. Thanks again for opening up your home to us. It was a blessing to our family. We only wish that we could remain in the warm, balmy weather! Ken and Lorie

Susan,I wanted to email you and let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your unit during the bridge run weekend. You have thought of everything and we appreciate the special touches. It turned out to be the perfect spot for a Bridge Run weekend. We walked to the start line from the unit and found out we had plenty of time to spare (enough to sleep in a good bit longer as compared to staying somewhere downtown). We caught the bus afterwards and they dropped us off not too far from where we started from. Perfect spot. I will make sure to call you first for next year's run. We hope to get back down in the near future and will keep your info to check on availability. Thanks again for offering such a great unit.Michele From Susan to Michele:Can I post your comment on our site with 1st name only and no other info?Come back anytime. It's always a slice of heaven here. Susan Sure, you can post my comment. Yes, it was hard leaving that little slice of heaven. I had lived downtown for about two years while in school years ago and worked in Mt. Pleasant while there. For some reason, I had never explored the ‘old village' area of Mt. Pleasant until this weekend. I had no idea it was so neat and that neighborhood is an awesome place to explore by foot or bike. Such a nice surprise and it was all so close the beaches too. Thanks. Thank You Michele,

Hi Susan; We got home Monday afternoon and immediately wished we were back on the shore watching dolphins instead of looking at ice and snow on our lawn. We had a great time even when the wind was a little chilly. The sun was great and the only time it rained was a couple of times after supper when we were in for the night. Hope your new tenants enjoy it as much as we did. Ralph

Staying at this vacation rental last month really helped to make our trip memorable. It is in a great location - a short drive to downtown and an even shorter drive to the beach. The home was very clean and comfortable and allowed us to feel relaxed on our trip. The owner is very accommodating and the amenities suited our needs perfectly. We would definitely stay here again if we visit Charleston again. Enjoy your stay!
