The Villa at Waters Edge near Charlotte NC
|Per night||$190 - $260|
|Per week||$1,200 - $1,350|
The Villa stands watch over a secluded cove on the shores of Lake Wylie. Relax on the veranda to watch recreation watercraft pass by, identify waterfowl and maybe even catch a peaceful glimpse of a deer. Large picture windows with floor to ceiling views bring the magnificence of the outdoors right into the spacious gathering room to enjoy a fireplace and panoramic vistas sunrise and sunset.

This is a beautiful lakeside home a very short drive from the Charlotte Douglas Airport and downtown Charlotte. The proprietor (Melanie) was wonderful to work with. She exemplified southern hospitality to me and my group of friends from the Midwest.
The home is very elegantly decorated and quite comfortable. There was lake access and a canoe and paddle boat at our disposal. One room had a built in projector and we enjoyed a movie projected onto the wall with surround sound.
We had some issues with the air conditioning but when we phoned Melanie, she sent out a technician the same day and the issue was resolved and we were nice and cool again. Great customer service!
The site has photos of the house but you really have to see it for yourself to appreciate how nice it is. It's tucked away on a back road but amazingly came right up on our GPS.
If you are planning a stay in the Charlotte area, you can stay here for a very reasonable rate. You won't regret your choice.
Oh, we almost forgot, there 's one more thing you might consider doing---absolutely nothing! Because the opportunity to just hang around, kick back, relax and enjoy the renewing experience is unparalleled.

We loved our stay. The house is secluded (down a dirt road!) and the neighbors are quiet and friendly, including Jack the neighborhood dog. The house is laid out very efficiently for a large family to have both privacy and gathering areas. The only way we could be happier with the place is if we could have stayed longer. We'll be back.

Our favorite vacation home for now on!!!

My name is Tom and I live in Raleigh, NC. It's been 33 days since my visit to The Villa at Waters Edge and there has not been a day that neither I nor my family hasn't thought of The Villa. We have stayed at the Waldorf Astoria, 4 star hotels in NC, etc. and still, we would pick the Villa to stay at hands down. Our favorite anniversary spot in Wrightsville Beach has been changed to the Villa at the Water's Edge. Everything in the house was clean; I would feel safe to eat off the floor if I needed too. The beds, the entertainment room, the bathrooms, the living room, the front/back yards, the dining room were all beautifully set up and extremely comfortable to be a part of. My favorite was the KITCHEN. Everything I needed to cook a surprise dinner for my wife's birthday was provided in the kitchen, top notch mixer for bread, great oven and all the utensils needed even for the barbeque in the backyard were provided (the grill was foiled and ready to be used). My 2 year old daughter saw the pictures we took of the Villa last night and right away she asked if we can go back. I plan to grant my daughter's wish very soon. Melanie is one of the best people to work with in planning any occasion, which made doing business with The Villa at Waters Edge that much more pleasant. We're looking forward to our next stay as soon as possible.

You do get the whole upper house:2br, 2bath, kitchen, living room.(the down stairs is a converted reception hall for large events.and is locked off) Great communication with the owner! There is so much room the house sounds as if it were an empty house with the echo effect.

Villa at Waters Edge on Lake Wylie is just what the pictures suggest! Beautiful! Melanie (the owner) goes out of her way to make sure your every need is attended to. Superb! The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms divine especially the master suite. The Villa gives you the feel of being totally away "from it all" and yet you are only 6 minutes away from the town of Belmont, 10 minutes away from the airport and 12 minutes away from Charlotte. This was our first visit but it will not be our last!
Fantastic Condo on the lake!!

Nice Villa on Lake Wylie
March 14, 2010
This was a very nice Villa on Lake Wylie and looks every bit like the photos and more because there is a media room not shown in any of the photos. We never actually met Melanie but after I lost the key the first day there, she quickly replaced it for us the next day and asked if we needed anything. The biggest problem we had was the lack of storage in the master suite (Royal Monarch Room). The armoir is going to be sent out for repair and is unusable and there is no dresser so we had to use bathrobe hooks for hanging stuff and leave the rest in our suitcases. The turret shower is unique but because the shower head must be American with a water limiter, it was difficult to get enough water to easily rinse off. The Ambasador shower has an opaque shower curtain that makes the shower very dark without an overhead light. Some basic amenities are missing such as a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, cutting board, Kleenex, a working ice cream scoop, and a dish rag. I suspect that most of the items are very easy to correct and will be except perhaps for the lack of a dresser. We had no trouble finding the place using our GPS but the last half a mile is a one-lane sometimes gravel road that fortunately we never met anyone coming from the other direction. The lower level and garage are both closed off but the top floor is quite expansive. It would probably be excellent for entertaining.

This is a very special place. Photographs do not do justice to the quality and size of the property. My family and I spent a wonderful few days and would like to keep this gem as our secret hideaway but it is only fair to let others in on such a fantastic property.

spacious home away from home

We rented the Villa on Lake Wylie the week of Christmas. Melanie was so thoughtful in decorating the house for the holidays. Melanie also baby-proofed the house for us since we have a toddler. The house was spacious and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was wonderful. The lake views were lovely and the area fairly quiet. The location was fairly convenient to many local attractions. I would recommend this property to visitors seeking a home-like environment for an extended stay in the area.

The Villa on Lake Wylie is an excellent vacation spot to get away from the city, work, or just relax. The house is amazing and it is enhanced by the decor. Melanie was a pleasure to work with and went out of her way to make sure our stay was pleasant. My only regret is that I can't keep this little treasure to myself.
After living here for a short time I began to think how fortunate we are to live on the lake. "Everyone should experience the sunrise, the birds, the fog burning off the cove in the morning at least once"
