Peaceful stay close to Ch'Ville
July 16, 2015
My husband, three daughters, dog and I spent 2 nights here. What a find! Beautiful views, and nice tidy cottage with everything we needed. Our girls loved the pool- a treat to come back up after long days sightseeing- and our dog loved the pond and trails! We didn't see a soul other than a friendly neighbor who happened to come by with his dog and give us some tips on what to see in the area. Great place!!!
UVA GRADUATION WEEKEND
June 1, 2015
Our stay at Cabin Creekwood was perfect. We had 8 in our group and several family members came for dinner. The accomodations were more than adequate. The cabin was immaculate/clean. We would definately visit there again in the future.
A little piece of heaven

This is the second time we have flown from Scotland to stay in this delightful cottage. The first time was in August 2011 when we delivered our daughter to UVA where she was to be a student for 4 years. This time was to attend her graduation. We loved the entire experience. The house is comfortable and spacious, the pool an absolute delight and the location pure bliss. Cannot recommend this property highly enough. It's one of Charlottesville's best kept secrets. We hope to return one day.

What a nice get-away!

Beautiful views! We enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal here with our dogs and all had a very nice time. We enjoyed walking the property. Well stocked linens and kitchen supplies. My only recommendation is for the ktichen cabinets to have a spring cleaning. Definitely plan on returning!

We just spent three days at this cottage. The scenery was beautiful and so restful. The cottage had everything we needed. Previous reviews stated the couch was an issue but that has been solved with a comfortable new sofa and loveseat. Suggest that it would be helpful to leave written instructions on operating the TV. We found it to be challenging. Definitely plan to come again.

Our stay at the cottage was wonderful. The property is breath-taking and the cottage is comfortable and set up with everything you need. The couch has been replaced so if you read complaints about the furniture disregard them ... everything is quite nice! It is hard to believe that such a serene property can be so close to all the "modern conveniences."

Great place to relax
October 20, 2013
We had a wonderful time! While we were at the cottage, we were absolutely undisturbed. We had time to walk around the grounds, swim, and enjoy family! We were within driving distance from Charlottesville and from Shenandoah National Park. Easy distance from grocery and cottage was well equipped for what we needed.

Beautiful get away spot

We were thrilled to find a place where our dogs could stay with us! That was definitely the deciding factor on us choosing this location. Once we arrived, we were amazed by the beautiful view. Everything we needed was there for us including linens and towels. It was a welcoming situation, all the way around. Very nice to be near Charlottesville but also far enough from town to enjoy the rural feel of this location. We found it very relaxing and can't wait to return!

We were in Charlottesville for a wedding. Instead of staying in a hotel we rented this cottage that allowed us to bring our dogs. It was absolutely lovely! Only thing people need to know is the cottage is physically attached to a retreat center so if there is an event going on during your stay you will hear people coming and going. I wouldn't let that stop you from staying. In the summer there is a pool to enjoy and there is also an outdoor firepit. The views are amazing.

We couldn't have been happier with the cottage. It is comfortable and spacious on the inside, but the real appeal is the scenery outside. It is located on acres of beautiful land, and we enjoyed going on long walks with our dog. And it's just an easy 20-minute drive from Charlottesville.

A perfect getaway!

We had wonderful stay at this property, It is ideally located and nicely done; The surroundings are scenic, and there is a nice trail around the lake which pleasantly surprised us! On the downside, the couch was somewhat uncomfortable and the TV hardly offered anything worth watching. I would give it a 8/10 and will be more than happy to return.

My husband and I, along with our energetic labrador, enjoyed a 2 night stay at the cottage and absolutely loved it. The scenery is spectacular and the endless field and pond were peaceful and just what the Dr. ordered. As expected, we didn't spend much time at the cottage, and found the accomodations to be exactly as described. Yes, the decor is out-dated, so if you are planning to stay in the rooms most of the time during your visit..look someplace else. Otherwise, the cottage is a gem and we will return! PS: Our dog Tripp is begging to return. I'm positive it's a close second to doggy heaven :)
peaceful and relaxing

My husband and I were looking for a cabin in the mountains for our 10 yr anniversity. This cabin was great. Everything was a little outdated, but for the price it was well worth it. Cabin sits on 80 acres, and is pet friendly, my dogs loved it, and so did we . I would recommend this quiet getaway for a couple or a family.
Great cottage and location!
September 7, 2011
We enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the spring/summer. The cottage was clean and has everything you need. The couch should be replaced, as it is falling apart and very uncomfortable. The views and property are beautiful. We enjoyed the private pool and hiking trails.

Beautiful and tranquil setting...pets welcome, too! We'll be back as often as schedule permits. Far enough to be secluded yet close enough to conveniences...the perfect get-away spot! On a scale of 1 - 10, a 12!

Nice cottage set in a peaceful location. Panoramic view of the Blue Ridge with an easy drive into Charlottesville. Plenty of privacy without being too remote.

We rented the cottage for a girls' weekend -- just needed to get away from it all. The cottage is delightful and the view is just fantastic. It was so peaceful we didn't want to leave! Can't wait to go back again!
Great experience - serene property
March 16, 2011
We visited for a four-day weekend and brought our dog along. He was in heaven, getting to run around the property and swim in the pond. The grounds were sprawling, and we felt like we had a pretty good amount of privacy. The space itself was very clean, the TV worked, the kitchen was fully stocked with silverware/plates/glasses/cookware, and the bed was comfortable. It wasn't glamorous (and the couch was pretty uncomfortable), but it suited our needs perfectly. We drove to Charlottesville each day for dinner or other activities. Truthfully, if spending time in Charlottesville (e.g., UVA campus) is the main intention of your visit, you might consider staying somewhere closer. It was about a 30-minute drive from the cottage to the heart of Charlottesville. That said, we enjoyed having all the space for our dog to run around and not worry about him. It was worth the hour-long round trip to/from C'Ville each night for dinner. It's pretty close to wineries and a neat park with short/easy hiking trails and an amazing dog park. We'd recommend this cottage, especially if you're a dog owner.

We loved the cottage. Everything we needed was there, except a toaster. We enjoyed our few days there very much. The scenery was beautiful. Peaceful and relaxing.
Quaint, Scenic Cottage

The cabin was in a beautiful location-- close to C'ville, but it felt isolated. It was a great stay, and the cabin was perfect for our needs except in one respect. The cabin advertises Sattelite TV, which it does have. In effect, however, you only get basic cable since the sattelite is not authorized for any extra channels. It was only an issue for us because we wanted to watch a particular college football game, but that was our only disappointment. In general, I completely recommend.

I can not tell anyone how beautiful and peaceful it was there. Our puppies enjoyed the freedom. Everything was perfect. Returning next year.
September 12, 2010
This is a very nice cottage on a beautiful property and we enjoyed our stay very much. Everything was stellar, except the checkout. Folks rushed us out in order to clean, well before the agreed upon check-out time because someone else had booked the cottage right after us. A phone call would have been nice instead of a few people just showing up at the door and rushing us out. Other than that, it was clean, lovely and loads of fun - we will definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to others.

Private and Peaceful
August 18, 2010
Five of us stayed here for a long weekend and hosted a family reunion for 25 people. The place far exceeded our expectations. The property is so beautiful, quiet, and private. The children loved the outdoor space to run and play, we all enjoyed the pool and the fellows fished in the pond. We sat on the deck and watched the beauty of the mountains while chatting after a wonderful meal in the multipurpose room at the retreat. A perfect weekend. We will definitely come again. What a wonderful place to de-stress!! Thank you for sharing your treasure with us.

This little place has a lot to offer. If you are looking for a quaint cottage with easy access to everything look no further. The privacy of the pool was wonderful for my girls the fishing at the pond was great and the relaxing evenings watching the sunset and fixing smores at the fire pit was true serenity. Thanks for a great getaway look forward to future visits.

The view out the window was beautiful with the lake and trees turning colors. The fields and hiking trails were great for our golden retriever to run and he was in doggie heaven. The cottage was clean and enjoyable. The overall experience was very pleaseant and we have already recommended it to others.
Don't overlook this little gem
August 5, 2009
We stayed at this cottage for 8 nights this summer. We chose it because it was centrally located close to Shenandoah National Park and Charlottesville. We only looked at cottages that allowed pets as we have an older dog on arthritis meds and she can't stay at a concrete floored kennel. The house is nice. There is a huge kitchen, good sized living room area, three small bedrooms, full bath with laundry. The view from the living room looks over the large pond and into the mountain ranges. The property is absolutely beautiful. The cottage is connected by a large entry-way to a two story retreat. Even when there are people at the retreat, it is totally quiet in the cottage. This is not the Hilton, it is furnished with older furniture and linoleum floors in the main areas. However, it is very clean, comfortable, spacious, quiet, and the property is beautiful. We also had use of the good sized swimming pool. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
