This estate is still unbelievably below any rental property fees within the UVA vicinity. Within the two calendar months, the price is $165 for weekend nights with a two-night minimum and $85 per night for weekday nights, no minimum.

The football stadium and John Paul Jones Arena are both within walking distance and Dunlodge is convenient to the area's wineries, breweries and many historical sites. Located on a secluded 5-acre wooded property, the house is a unique showplace of log siding, sloped roofs, step down rooms, rose bud flooring, indoor fireplaces, wood beam ceilings, a large sunroom and a formal dining room. Dunlodge is completely modernized with full kitchen appliances, central heating and air conditioning, 4 bedrooms and 2 ½ baths. Outdoors the landscaped gardens feature a large outdoor slate patio with a rock fireplace, a horse barn and a trail tying into the UVA Observatory Hill trail system and to the Rivanna Greenbelt Trail that circles the entire city of Charlottesville.

Nice little house, good location

October 8, 2013

We had a nice stay at the Dunlodge. It was surprisingly well equipped (every kitchen tool you could want) and while it felt like we were in the middle of nature, it was a few minute drive to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Could use more lighting/lighter wall colors to make it brighter, and mattress covers (they were pretty gross looking...) but it was all in all a great stay.

Owner's reply:

Thank you Brianna for your comment. This house is really nice and the location is perfect for show goers and UVA families. I'll make sure the cabin overseer is aware of the issues you stated. Best regards to you and your guests. Patricia Fankhauser

Rustic home....most everything is old, but works.....basic accommodations in a beautiful setting. I don't think you could find a more desirable and private location within walking distance of anything on UVA campus. (2 acres) You provide your own maid service and bring your own towels, washer and dryer included. We would go back.

Owner's reply:

Thank you Douglas for your review. Your "most everything is old, but works" statement is exactly how I feel about myself sometimes. Dunlodge is definitely a special place. We would love to have you stay again real soon.

Guys weekend

November 16, 2011

We stayed at this amazing house for a guys weekend in November. The house had tons Of space including a sunroom, 4 bedrooms, patio and outdoor fire place. It's a 10 minute walk goths football stadium and a 30 minute walk to The Corner, which has tons of restaurants and bars. If you want to be within walking distance of UVA but without the Pain of neighbors, this is the place for you

Owner Supplied Testimonials

Last summer, 2011, Ian Leake, from Troop 765 in Charlottesville planned the production and implemented a 30' x 24' slate patio at Dunlodge. Ian did a tremendous job, as well as his crew of fellow scouts and PATC members. This project is Ian's Eagle Scout Project 2011. We at PATC thank all who worked with him on this beautiful patio that will enhance the renter's experience at Dunlodge. We feel confident that Ian's pledge, planning, and follow-through with this project will without a doubt earn him his Eagle Scout status. Good Luck Ian.
