As I have not used this website before, and I have not been to the Adirondacks , I did not know what to expect. Was I happily surprised! First, Wayne got back to me quickly with EVERY stupid question I had. The cabin was really clean had everything we needed! Was the most relaxing vacation ever.the town had a market that stocked everything we wanted for food, and Wayne was right , the best bakery EVER 'twas 5 minutes away! It really was a perfect spot. 1st day out, husband caught 3 fish, the lake is clean, quiet and beautiful .cabin was great! Hopefully, we will be back next year. Thanks Wayne!

Relaxing Retreat

September 12, 2014

I found this camp in it location on Chateaugay Lake very relaxing and quiet, except for boats passing by, birds singing and daily visits from the chipmunks. Those are noises I enjoy. The atmosphere was conducive to reading and writing, away from the high-tech world. Also, the camp was very clean and had all of the conveniences I desired. I enjoyed eating my meals on the deck overlooking the lake.

Like Coming Home

September 19, 2013

We decided to end our summer with a long weekend at Camp Wayno where we spent a week in July. It's nice coming into an environment that is familiar. Everything was in great shape. The big difference was the time of year. It gets pretty cool in mid-September, and we really thank Wayne for the portable heaters. They really did the trick. The camp suits us and our little dog Heidi perfectly. Once the Narrows Bridge reopens, it will be even more convenient. We had a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyabale time at Lake Chateaugay, and look forward to returning.

Great private location

September 8, 2012

Our recent vaction at Camp Wayno an overall great experience! Even before the communication with the owner was excellent. The cabin was very clean and tidy, and all the cleaning tools to keep it up all week.. The cabin had everything we needed for cooking and meals. There were many little extras that were unexpected, but greatly appreciated (such as the clothes hamper with a laundry bag included). We spent most of our time outdoors. The deck was a great place to have coffee, eat, or just relax and watch the boats go buy. The canoe and kayak were very fun. We spent many nights canoeing down the narrows to find one of the many great fishing spots. Overall a fantastic vacation!

Relaxing Getaway

August 19, 2012

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time here. The owner was very kind in the emails we exchanged and the cabin itself was extremely cozy and well kept. I didn't do any swimming myself, but we enjoyed the location right near the water. In addition, anyone who likes sightseeing will have plenty to do with Montreal only an hour and a half away!

More fun is not possible

August 5, 2012

I have been at Chateagay Lake for a few years now and am writing my first review for Wayne and Callies camp . We cannot list all the things that made us so comfortable. But I will try, Probably the comfortable deck relaxing with cocktails watching boats cruising by with dappled sunlight warming the deck. Fishing one morning I woke up saw a pileated woodpecker on the tree by the boat area paddled down the narrows saw 2 great blue herons, caught bass and believe it or not a bald eagle flew over me, circled checked me out then flew away. What a morning! My wife Mary and I rode bikes paddled a canoe and kayak, went to the sandbar and relaxed and met some locals that were there too. Kinda like the Jersey shore you drive your boat too. Oh yea, bring your boat this is a beautiful lake...... Stay home or go to the lake? I will always pick the lake. Thanks Wayne and Callie.

Dog friendly, A dream vacation

September 17, 2011

We pulled up into the driveway and spotted the cottage. We new our vacation was just beginning. This was just what we wanted! The cottage was cozy, tidy, comfortable, well supplied, and decorated. Our two dogs loved it! They enjoyed the long walks on the quiet country road, as well we did. We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of the pine tree wilderness, and sitting by the bomb fire, and hanging out on the deck! The dogs loved going for a dip in the lake! They enjoyed our trip to High falls park (very close by) as well as our trips to the town of Chateaugay. (15 minutes) ( Annie Ann's Antiques is a great shop to check out) The kerosene heater that's in the cabin kept us cozy and warm, on those cold nights! Lyon Mountain has a gas station that provides the kerosene. We had a relaxing and much needed vacation! Thank you Camp Wayno!

remote lake

Nice place on a beautiful lake. Althought he weather didn't hold up, you can't beat this place for the money. Fires by the water were great. Having my boat at the dock (though a bit shallow) all week was great. The lake is busy on the weekends, but during the week it is very quiet. This place is not for people looking for a tourist destination. It is out there, no cell coverage, & not much going on in the immediate area, but very peaceful! This lake is a gem & this place is worth checking out!
