I traveled alone. It was so perfect for me. Quiet, very clean, comfortable. Very beautiful around it. Church in walking distance. Close to area attractions and very easily assessable. I will be back.
Our favorite part of the rental was the view and great porch to soak it in. The house was as described, clean, comfortable, and had great mountain decor. A couple things keeping it from a 5 star review... you have to purchase things like toilet paper and paper towels (just weird to do while you're on vacation if you ask me.) We also had to make an extra trip to the store to buy a lighter to start the grill as the starter was broken, not a huge deal, but read in the guest book that other guests had the same problem months ago, and it hadn't been rectified. Also, I wouldn't book this rental for the hot tub... we were there in August, so too hot for it anyways, but it wasn't working and was pretty gross looking. But all in all a great trip, and a great place to stay!!
“Great Getaway for 2”
Wife and I loved it, loved it, loved it. Even with the great brew pubs in the area, we had to get our own grub (there's a Food City supermarket with a great craft beer selection 10 minutes away) to cook in and enjoy looking at the river and Signal Mountain for one evening. Will go here again over a hotel anytime!
Owner's reply: You will want to come back in the fall, the spring, the winter.... Ok there just isn't a bad time of year to visit the Little House.... We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay.
“What a lovely view”
We needed a small place to sleep for the weekend and the requirements were A) on some water and B) pet-friendly. This place was all we needed and more. We are outdoors people so we comfortably slept 4 adults (there is a queen size bed in the loft but don't expect to hang out up there that space is for sleeping) and we are there all weekend. We fished, hiked, and enjoyed downtown Chattanooga (we got an uber to the pickle barrel for $17!!) If you're looking for a cozy place to feel like you're away from it all- this is it! Pleasant in every way :)
Owner's reply: Thank you! We love offering guests accommodations that suit their needs, is clean, comfortable and memorable as well as feeling a little like home. We look forward to seeing you again when your travels bring you to Chattanooga...
“Christmas in the Mountains”
Beautiful little cabin right on the river. You are close to town, but out in the country! Super clean cabin with cable and Wi-Fi. We were able to take our dogs, which is a big plus! Cabin is small, but with high ceilings, it did not feel that way at all. Did not use the private hot tub on deck, but is secluded and romantic. Owners came back to pick up trash on the second day and to see if there were any issues that needed to be addressed. We will be back
“Little House on the River”
The cabin is really nice; the price is good; the location fronting the Tennessee River is fantastic. Parking became rather crowded when the larger cabin next door (sleeping 12 people) held a Christmas/ family reunion. As another reviewer said, this cabin/ owner includes a lot of reminder messages to do this or do that. Maybe this is typical and I just haven't stayed in many cabins, but I found these signs, including some religious ones, unnecessary.
Owner's reply: So glad to hear that you enjoyed the location, the property and the beautiful Tennessee River and Mountains. There is plenty parking, but can seems a little confining when the larger home is full. As far as the signs, most people enjoy reading them. The religious ones are my personal preference and has no intent as far as any guests. Just a reflection of who I am! I wish you a very Happy , Healthy and Prosperous New Year! We hope your next stay in Chattanooga will be at the Little House!
“Great family vacation”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cabin. Our son loved fishing in the river every morning & afternoon. The cabin is nicely furnished & very conveniently located just a few minutes from everything.
35 states under our belts, 15 to go, and our 4th stay in Tennessee eclipsed the other Volunteer State visits combined. The comfort level...A...Interstate access...A...cleanliness...A.. owner...A. iIf you love comfort, beauty, nature, food and fun, you would be wise to stay here. The river view\sounds are amazing. Those of you who KNOW Tolkien (the books) will see Rivendell. Enjoy it while you can, we're going to see if our credit union lets us make an offer!
“beautiful and great location”
Escaped to Chattanooga for a 3 day get away with my boyfriend. The cabin was really nice and beer clean. It really is just a short ten minute drive to the tourist area of Chattanooga. We loved being right on the water and very secluded. A few things we weren't 100% happy with 1) there are two other very large cabins on the property. The first night we were the only ones and it was perfect. The second night a family of 12 moved in next door and it got a wee less quiet and romantic. 2) while they do provide dishes, towels and linens. There is no soap. No hand soap in the bathroom. Nothing in the kitchen to wash dishes with. If we'd known, we'd brought it with us. But since we didn't, we ended up having to make a Wal-Mart run late the first night. 3) the "on deck" hot tub is actually tucked on the side of the cabin down a flight of stairs and in a little hole. it's good for 2 people and clean, but You can't see the water from it and it's kind of claustrophobic down there. 4) finally, we were really turned off by the number and tone of rules and reminders posted around the cabin. A simple check out list and rule list is one thing. But it felt like everywhere you turned there was another rule posted and perhaps the owner thought they're tone was funny, but it just came across rude and snarky. Things like "if you choose not to wash the towels before you leave, you better leave $100 on the table".... really? $100? Well, with that said, we would actually go back here as the price is very good for what you get.
“Wonderful vacation home!”
This is a beautiful home for a quiet weekend away. My boyfriend and I spent Memorial Day weekend here and cannot wait to go back! The pictures do not do the home justice. Quiet, romantic, great fishing. We had a wonderful time. I definitely recommend staying here!
