A great place to stay for corporate travel!

September 30, 2014

A group of employees from our company stayed in Unit 1 for a week while attending a trade show downtown. The owner was very accommodating to our needs and flexible with their time frame. The neighborhood is quiet and bike friendly. We were all impressed by how many restaurants and coffee shops were just within walking distance. When we arrived at the house, we were greeted by an inviting and well-kept space. The unit was exactly as the pictures had shown. The bedding was all comfortable and we appreciated the lightly stocked kitchen and pantry. After longs days on our feet at a trade show, it was relaxing to return to an actual living space like this unit as compared to a hotel room. We had no problems with any of the appliances or electronics. Since we did have 5 people staying in the unit, it was difficult at times to share just one bathroom. But other than that, we have not one complaint. Now that our stay is over, I would say the rental price for this unit is a great deal. Staying in this rental unit made our stay in Chicago extremely enjoyable. We would stay again!

Owner's reply:

I am so glad you had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We hope to see you another time. You were great guests and very respectful of the place.

China Doll House #1

August 23, 2011

Loved our stay with China Doll House. It was just as described and in the perfect location. We needed to call the owners a few times during our 8 day stay and they were very prompt and helpful. We plan on staying there the next time we are in town.

Apartment in Chicago

May 19, 2011

We had 7 women from the ages of 9 to 59 stay here and it was great. The kitchen was fabulous for making breakfast and coming home at night was a welcome rest after a busy day. The apartment is quiet, close to the L and the beach.

Much better than a hotel for a family

August 4, 2010

We stayed in unit 1 and briefly in unit 3, and it was extremely comfortable for our family of 4. The building was comfortable and very quiet and in a very residential neighborhood. Our toddler very much enjoyed the Chicago Park District park which was one house away, with its playground equipment for kids 2-12, a sandbox and swings. The apartment was 4 blocks from the subway, ie, "The El," and 3 blocks from the Fullerton Ave. bus. Parking was easily obtained right in front of the house. When we were looking for a place to stay for 10 days in Chicago, we found this apartment was comparably priced to one-room hotel room downtown, but this was far more comfortable and actually less expensive since we cooked some of our own food in the well-stocked kitchen.

Lincoln Park Rental

We were a group of six and stayed in 2 of the upper units while in town for a conference; a great property in a great location for a great price; quick walk to subway will get you anywhere quickly; highly recommended.

Great Place

December 5, 2009

Only two shortcomings: working light in the rear bedroom; and 2.dishwasher unlevel, causingtrays to slide out unless door is latched ... this can be easily fixed by placing a shim under each of the front feet.

Excellent Lincoln Park Location

October 14, 2009

We rented the first floor of this property for the long weekend surrounding the 2009 Chicago Marathon. It's a great location (in the middle of Lincoln Park, near but not too close to the El, on a very quiet street, within walking distance of a great many bars and restaurants) and a perfect setup for a small group (six, in our case) for a long weekend. We did have one small problem (the water heater pilot went out so we didn't have hot water), but the host had it fixed within an hour or two. All in all, it's a fine place in a very good location. We'll certainly keep it on our list of options for the next time we visit Chicago.

Great place and a great value

August 11, 2009

I had family in town and my place is way to small for them to stay with me. The condo was big, clean, and had all the amenities everyone needed. Everyone had a great time, and saved a lot of money over staying at a hotel and eating out for every meal. It was a great experience.
