About the area

The Chickamauga National Battlefield is the largest federal civil war battlefield in the nation. It boasts over 5200 acres. Hike in the mountains and see waterfalls and beautiful vistas with a few thousand foot drops. If you time it right, you will be able to go to one of the many festivals that are either right here in Chickamauga, or in neighboring small towns. And of course there is Chattanooga. Known for its very very family friendly down town complete with parks that have waterfalls and streams that the kids can jump right into on a hot day and have a great time, and so far everything that I have mentioned is FREE.

“Mountain Relaxing”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2016

We enjoyed a week of relaxing in the Ga. Look Out Mountains. This two story was great with plenty of room for TN and FL families. The first floor is nice clean and cozy. Two nice bedrooms with two couch pull outs. Bath has a washer and dryer. Plenty of room for a queen blow up one bedroom and living room. In front we enjoyed late night visiting after a good B-B-Q dinner. The kids loved doing Smores over the fire pit, after they enjoyed their day in the large swinning pool. There is even a diving board, you don't see those any more. The adults loved relaxing in the hot tub while we enjoyed a nice glass of wine. The second floor is really nice, two bedrooms and two baths with front and back porch. We had lots of room for blow up beds for the kids. It was so relaxing in rooms or sitting on the front porch. The home is located on a dead end road. Has a great yard for the kids to play. Kids enjoyed watching the horse and having him come to the fence to visit. We had 13 from Florida for the week, 5 from AL for the week, and 9 came from TN on Sunday for BBQ and swinning. If you want a great place for family to visit, relax then site see. This is so much better than hotel rooms... Then you need to book now......

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your kind words. We really enjoyed having a bunch come and stay and enjoy the place. We find that large groups with family get-togethers or softball teams seem to really enjoy the place. We are also not working on heating the pool so that we can have an extended season for those who would enjoy swimming in the cooler weather.. Thanks for your review.

“Family Reunion”

We truly enjoyed our stay here. Beds were clean and comfy, plenty of towels for the pool and hot tub and a fully stocked kitchen with pots n pans and whatever gadget you might need. The kids enjoyed the board games and foosball table and also petting that beautiful horse named Boomer. Duane and his wife were wonderful hosts making sure we had everything we needed. If we ever get up that way again we would surly be repeat customers.. Thanks for a great stay!!

Owner's reply: Donna and her family were a joy to have. Thank you so much and I look forward to your next visit.

“Home Away from Home”

Reviewed 29 Nov 2015

Our families are from Ohio, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee and wanted to meet in Chattanooga for Thanksgiving. Even though this place is about 20 minutes from Chattanooga, it is a beautiful farm property in the country. The house was plenty of space for the 12 of us that slept there and had room for a couple of more. I brought some of my favorite kitchen utensils because we were doing a lot of home cooking and wasn't exactly sure that kitchen tools were there but found it to be well stocked for our needs. There were more than enough board games for family time. The fuze ball kept the grandkids busy enough to stay out of our hair while we prepared our Thanksgiving meal. The beds for SO comfortable also. We all enjoyed going for walks on the property to take pictures with the horse named Boomer and also enjoyed looking at the cows. I think my favorite moment was sitting around the fire pit sharing memories, and the firewood was provided for us. Duane is an awesome host. He quickly returns emails/texts. Whatever we needed, he made sure he supplied it. He initially met us on the property and showed us around. It was truly our home away from home.

“16U Nationals Softball Group”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2015

It was a nice place to stay, perect for our needs. The entire upstairs was dedicated to the softball girls with plenty sleeping room and two bathrooms, while the downstairs was occupied by the adults. The pool and hot tub was conveinant to have. The location was also perfect to travel to the tournaments.

Owner's reply: It was great to have this Softball Team group here. In addition to enjoying the tournament they seemed to enjoy their time in the pool and took advantage of the diving board and deep end as well as the hot tub. They were a joy to have and were no trouble at all. We enjoy seeing small groups like this enjoy our little country getaway. Thanks!
