Description of the Chocolate Hole vacation villa rental
Come and enjoy this one of a kind, palatial, Mediterranean-style retreat, perched on a beautifully landscaped bluff overlooking a secluded bay on the island paradise of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands.

A dream come true, this stunning villa welcomes you with gentle tropical breezes, warm and delicious sunlight to bathe in, sweet floral scents of the tropics and the soothing music of waves caressing the white-sand beach below. Villa St. John is one of only a few beachfront villas on this exclusive eight mile stretch of utopia.

Stunning, warm and welcoming, the grand villa is comprised of four bedroom suites and the honeymoon villa of two bedroom suites. Both the grand and honeymoon villas have their own living and dining room areas and newly renovated kitchens with rich mahogany cabinetry and graphite counter tops.

One of Villa St. John's most unique features is that all of the six bedrooms are 650 square foot master suites (the largest on the island), each with their own 2 person jacuzzi, walk-in closets, coffee maker, refrigerator, and balcony, offering panoramic views of Chocolate Bay, the Caribbean and a picturesque inlet that accommodates spectacular yachts, a pristine beach and the rhythmic sound of lapping waves of crystal clear water from the Caribbean.

Enjoy a dip in the warm, clear turquoise sea of the villa's private, white sand beach or swim in the crystal water of the villa's swimming pool, its deck splashed with casual outdoor furniture for sunbathing or entertaining. Enjoy the sunset over St. Thomas as you sit in the jacuzzi, have cocktails on the deck of the outdoor dining area, or relax on your room's private balcony, all of which provide the perfect setting to watch the sun sink below the horizon over the sparkling bay and the blue-green Caribbean, or rise to announce a spectacular new day in paradise at dawn.

The villa complex is ideal for weddings, reunions, family get-togethers, a romantic island escape, honeymoons or for simply relaxing island-style and is the perfect launch for island adventures such as kayaking, hiking, shopping in Cruz Bay, snorkeling, scuba diving or deep-sea fishing.

For those who simply are unable to leave their work at home, Villa St. John is equipped with high-speed wireless internet access, printer and fax.

Area Information

Civilizations lived on St. John long before the Europeans arrived to the region, as evidenced by the petroglyphs, or rock carvings left by the Taino people. These carvings are found especially on the Reef Bay hiking trail. These people were all but driven into extinction by Europeans in the 17th century seeking new territories as colonial properties.

Natural History

Much of the vegetation on the Island is second generation growth. Almost the entire Island was clear-cut to make way for sugar cane production during the colonial era. Some native species like the tyre palm remain, but much growth today are introduced species.

Submerged Lands

In 1962, Congress expanded the boundary of Virgin Islands National Park to include 5,650 acres of submerged lands to protect and preserve the beautiful coral gardens and seascapes. Today, the Park conducts research, and has developed policies and practices aimed at protecting the fragile coral reef systems.

Climate is temperate year-round ranging from low eighties during the winter months to the low - mid nineties in the summer.
