Tommy Bahama

September 4, 2014

We stayed at the Blue Whale Hotel in the Tommy Bahama Suit and it was amazing!! 1 block away from the beach and walking distance from everything else. Everyone was very friendly and so helpful. The glass shower in this suit was so pretty. Had air conditioning in the living and bedroom, so that was GREAT! They had bikes for you to use, beach towels, ironing board, etc. I recommend this place for sure.

Not a good experience at all

July 30, 2014

Got to the condo at 10:30 p.m. to find the AC off & 82 degrees inside, took over a day to cool down, but even then the unit does not appear to draw in fresh air, so the air inside was stale & heavy. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, mattress is shot. There are no ceiling fans, or any type of fan at all, considering the small AC unit , sleeping was a severe challenge the entire time. Sleeping at the foot of the bed was a must, the room was hot even when the temp was down to 68 degrees! Balcony off the bedroom overlooks a very busy street corner, great entertainment late night. The kitchen is nice, however was disappointed with how it was equipped. The cookware was an odd assortment of the cheapest garbage I have ever seen, looked like someone just went to several yard sales. The stuff made Tfal look high end and limited what we could make. Glassware, had the jumbo white wine glasses that no one likes, no champagne glasses. Ok, lets remember close to $1900 for 10 days, you dont expect this. The bathrooms are nice, each had one half a roll of toilet paper! Are you serious? Come on! I had to go buy some the first day we were there! I didnt expect the place stocked, but toilet paper? Use some common sence! The pool, now that was a huge surprise. This condo is next door to what I believe is the least expensive Hotel in Clearwater Beach, The Clearwater Beach Hotel. Rooms start at $50 a night, so you know what crowd that draws. The pool is on the property of that Hotel & a sign states that it is for their guests only. The entire time it was swamped with large groups of drunken guys. Nice, my wife & daughter did not feel comfortable going there. One night we did walk over to check it out, wow, we could not believe people actually swim in water like that. We have a pool and know how to balance water, this was a milky color and no chlorine smell, the underwater light did iluminate the water a bit, however you could not see the actual light, that was 2 feet below the surface! We could not believe people were letting their children swim in water like that. Our overall experiance with this condo was horribile. Sunday morning and checkout is 10:00. Well at 9:35 the door opens, a dog runs in & I hear "housekeeping" as this older guy walks in, my wife was not happy to say the least. He had a bucket & 2 rolls of paper towels, and I prepaid $80 for cleaning? Needless to say we were anxious to leave this place & will not consider it again.

Nice place with 3 exceptions!

For the cost, there should have been internet in the unit...running up and down to the lobby is bothersome. The shower was reduced to a trickle.. not even enough for a good shower The beds were hard and felt like we were sleeping on a cement pad.. Should be more comfortable...
