My boyfriend and I loved our time at Buffalo Creek Vacations. From the very beginning Cheryl made the entire process very easy and hassle free for us. She answered all of our questions and more! Without a doubt we loved the cabin and everything it had to offer, but even more so I loved the surroundings. The farm and the entire property are magnificent. We enjoyed meeting Cheryl's family, who were all very nice and very friendly and loved hanging out with them daily as they fed all the animals at the farm. We also enjoyed the farm fresh eggs and the ground bison meat that we obtained from them very much. This little place on earth has without a doubt made it to my favorites and we have been to many destinations together. The little kitty who stays in the area became our friend as well and kept us company for the second half of our stay. We also really appreciated the early check in and late check out! Thank you Cheryl & Buffalo Creek! We enjoyed our stay so much that we started thinking if we would give up our beach trip later on in the year to visit Buffalo Creek again :) PS. If you would like to have professional massages, ask for Amanda! She had such a great technique. We would definitely ask for her when we return. Few areas for improvement in the cabin: There was a high amount of smoke smell in the cabin from the fire place the day we arrived. The couch could be a little bigger. The hanging light fixture above the kitchen isle did not bother me, but my boyfriend is 6'3'' and he constantly hit his head on it. The location of the fridge is a little inconvenient, not much space to get in front of it. Not sure if anything could be done for this, but the water pressure was quite low in both the kitchen and bathroom. The bed was also too hard for my boyfriend's liking, but I found it perfect.

So glad you both enjoyed your stay & I appreciate you taking time to leave us feedback. We will look into why the cabin still had a smoky smell from the fireplace, thanks for letting me know. As for the couch, we chose that one because we thought since there was always going to be just 2 people, that would be fun, plus having the space to put your feet up would be relaxing. Thanks & hope to see you back at our little piece of heaven again! Cheers, Cheryl

I was so thrilled when my husband surprised me for our 19th wedding anniversary w/ a trip to the Buffalo Bungalow! This cabin was totally created w/ a romantic getaway in mind!! Every little detail is taken care of. I have never been in a sauna before & my, that was outstanding!! Then, we decided to try the massage table & we even booked a massage therapist through Cheryl & Sarah was AWESOME! We did some hiking in the area & then rested my weary bones in the hot tub on the back deck. The view from there is breathtaking. It felt like we were the only ones there! One of the days it rained, so we hung inside & my husband let me beat him in a game of pool. Then the weather cleared that evening & we were able to grill our bison steaks outside. Those were delicious!!! Just want to say THANK YOU again to Cheryl & everyone else we met on the property for helping make this one of our best getaways by far! We will be back...& I am planning on bringing our family to stay at one of the larger cabins as well!

We live on the coast and have been celebrating our wedding anniversary in the NC mtns for the last 23 years. This is our first time in the Waynesville area. The road to the cabin was intimidating but doable. It is evident the owners put a lot of thought and planning into this beautiful, well designed, fully stocked cabin for two. Clear and accurate instructions were provided from beginning to end. We enjoyed our breakfast meals out at nearby 209 Caf? and Clyde's Restaurant. After touring a day in nearby historic Waynesville and the beautiful waterfalls in Brevard, we came back each evening to a welcoming hot tub which turned out to be the highlight of our stay. (We've never been in a hot tub and it was awesome.) The only negative was the rainy, warm weather which followed us from the coast to the mountains and back home. A wonderful couples getaway.

My wife and I celebrated our 19th anniversary here and could not have had a nicer time. The cabin was beautiful and had plenty of very nice romantic touches to help make our weekend great. We spent a ton of time in the hot tub and also enjoyed the sauna. We plan on staying here again whenever we get a 3-4 day weekend and want to get away for a bit.

What a wonderful cabin! We rented the Buffalo Bungalo to celebrate my 50th birthday. The moment we arrived we were greeted with personal touches that made us feel welcome and excited about our week -- including a cute birthday cupcake garden flag near the driveway, a birthday message hanging on the cabin wall, and a basket filled with s'mores ingredients. The cabin is ideally designed for a relaxing and romantic couples retreat. Every detail is considered. The wrap-around deck was perfect for enjoying morning coffee, reading a good book, and romantic dinners. There is even room for dancing! (LOL - We waltzed by candlelight on my birthday.) The fire pit was a fun place to "rough it" one evening for dinner. We roasted hot dogs on a stick, made s'mores, sang old camp songs, and stayed out until the neighboring cows came home. And, like others, nearly every night we enjoyed the hot tub. If you choose to stay in, the pool table is a lot of fun -- especially because there is not quite enough room for serious pool playing and we are lousy at pool. We also enjoyed the sauna and massage table (including instructions and massage lotion). The shower for two is beautiful -- and we are glad we brought our water shoes. We were delighted that the cabin is doggie-friendly. We brought our two Bichon Frises who enjoyed walking the trails. We were frequently visited by Cody, a beautiful and friendly golden retriever, who quickly made friends with our Sami & Charlie. We loved visiting with the owners who are more than generous. We joined them for buffalo feeding a few times and walked up to feed the goats, miniature horses, llamas, and rabbits. Being train lovers, we quickly made a connection (and can't wait to see the future caboose rentals). The cabin is perfectly located for visiting the area. We explored Asheville, hiked in the Smoky Mountains, visited the Museum of the Cherokee, and enjoyed the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad Museum. We didn't have time to take the train ride this trip but will be back. If we could recommend anything, it would be a vegetable peeler for the kitchen and maybe some additional lighting in the living room. At first, we were intimidated by the steep gravel road to the cabin. But, quickly learned to navigate it -- and it was well worth the climb. Thank you for sharing your home -- My 50th birthday was perfect! We hope to return to the Bungalow for another romantic getaway.

Dear Kathy, So glad you enjoyed your birthday at Buffalo Bungalow. We greatly appreciate you taking time to leave us a review. Also, thanks for letting me know our veggy peeler is not there anymore, we used to have one & we will replace it. Thanks again & be sure to "like" us on FB to follow the caboose renovation! Till next time! Cheryl

Our stay at the Buffalo Bungalow was the best. We enjoyed everything the Ranch had to offer and Bison steak on the open grill was great. I would recommend it to any one who stays at the ranch. Rene and I have been married for 34 years and we look forward to returning to celebrate our 35th. However, for the Bungalow I for have liked a whirlpool tub in the play room instead of the pool table.

Romantic Getaway
My husband and I came here to have a weekend to ourselves. This was the most amazing cabin that I've ever been to. Ever detail in this cabin was to optimize couple time. From the shower to sauna to the jacuzzi, I could go on and on. The cabin is beautiful and very detailed in the decorations. I'm so glad that they share this treasure with the public. I can't wait to come back!!

Wonderful!
This cabin and property are better than the pictures! Wonderful amenities and finishes. We didn't want to leave. Our favorites were the hot tub, sauna, massage table, heated tile floor in the bathroom, and free fire wood. Can't wait to come back. Worth every penny, in fact it is a steal for the price charged. Be ready to scrap all your sight seeing plans and just hang out at the cabin and on the grounds. Make sure to take the short walk up the hill to ride the tire swing. What a wonderful honeymoon.

Our visit to Buffalo Bungalow Cabin
When we arrived, the cabin was neat and clean which included the sauna, hot tub, bathroom and kitchen. My wife, Ms. Lynette was in awe when she walked in the front door. I would/will recommend this cabin and others on the property to family and friends. I plan to rent one of the other cabins for Christmas in the next couple of years and take my childern. When looking at the pictures on-line we could not wait to get there. The photos did not do the cabin justice, it was even better in person. We made one day trip to the Sevierville/Gatlinburg Tenn area, which is a beautifull 70 mile trip. We stopped at the Smokey Mountain Knife Works, and had lunch at the Gore Bar-B-Q resturant in Sevierville. We will go back! When it was time to leave, I had to tie Ms. Lynette in the car, because she did not want to leave.
Our anniversary is in July, however we did not get to celebrate at that time. We used this vacation to do that. I contacted Ms. Hillis to please place some flowers in the cabin for Ms. Lynette. Ms. Hillis did not waste time, she had a bouquet of beautfull fall flowers waiting in the cabin. Which made me look good.

This is our second trip to the same cabin, and we had a great time as always. The owners are very polite and very helpful. Our needs were met beyond our expectations. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!
