Quiet cozy getaway

November 2, 2015

overall very pleasant experience. Will list some things we feel could make it even better. TV does not receive local channels causing us to miss game 1 of the World Series ( A big deal when you're from Missouri. ) Electricity went out for a couple of hours. Could have used bigger candles. When I called the electric company, which was after hours, their automated system did not have the phone number listed in their system. Could not get ahold of anyone. Had no water or electricity and was dark and stormy. The flooring should be replaced in kitchen and bathroom. Thermostat on hot tub is not accurate. Again overall it was a very pleasant experience. From the description online, we thought it would be a little more private, Neighbors very close. Hidden by woods but just a few feet away

Michael & Brigitte Craig

Owner's reply:

Great feedback Glenn. Your partial refund hopefully covered the power outage and inconvenience. Unfortunately our new neighbors have a right to be there, but are very friendly and unobtrusive. The hot tub appeared to be fine after you left, but we will definitely take care of the things we can, i.e., stocking better candles, updating power company & other instructions, and redoing the floors. Thanks!

A Girls Weekend

October 16, 2014

It was a girls weekend for myself, 13 year old daughter and her friend, we had a good time, the cabin was nice and cozy. Everyone should know that you have to drive through a creek to get to the cabin, it is very remote and no cell service, I was not aware of these aware of these things before booking my trip. I did take advantage of the quiet relaxing time that we had, everyone did quite a bit of sleeping... We enjoyed the hot tub, grilled out each day, and the girls had a wonderful time making smores at the fire-pit.. We had the time to actually talk and enjoy each other without all the distractions of everyday life.

Michael & Brigitte Craig

Owner's reply:

Thanks for your feedback Cynthia - I now see the need to tell people all this before they book. As for cell phone usage, it is possible now since we have satellite WiFi . . . All you need is a phone with some kind of internet calling service. You can also use our land line for emergency and local calls, and a calling card for long distance.

My wife and I had an enjoyable time getting away to the Cherokee National Forest and staying in the woods in this cabin. The cabin had all the amentities we needed. The management staff was awsome in helping out with my last minute loss of directions. Looking forward to returning.

A weekend away from it all

We stayed at Cupids Cove in March. It is a quaint, cozy little hide away far from the hustle and bustle of the city life. We enjoyed our stay. It is so peaceful and quite. The mountains of East Tennessee or breath taking.

Owner Supplied Testimonials
Guestbook

We had a wonderful time staying here. We got to relax and sleep in! It's so peaceful and quiet here. We did get to do a couple of fun things. The Lost Sea was really interesting and amazing. Went to the Skyway and saw all the beautiful scenery and the falls, and people say all this just happened by chance? Only God can create such beautiful and intricate things. - Lititz Family, Pennsylvania

This was such a treat! What a charming place! Everyone here was so friendly and helpful. I can't wait until we can come here again. - Tom & Shekila, Panama City, FL.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where can I get up-to-date information on rates, pets, availability and more?
A: Visit our main site (mountain-rental) to get complete details, and to book your stay online. Since we're not allowed to list our site address here, however, send us an inquiry to get an auto-response with the direct link.
Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Yes - up to 2 small pets (35 pounds or less) with payment of the $75 pet fee (plus tax). However, exotic pets like snakes, rats, spiders, ferrets, and similar small animals are not allowed. Small birds are allowed at no charge if caged at all times.
Q: Do you have heat and air?
A: Yes, the cabin is both heated and cooled by gas and electricity. There is also a wood-burning open-faced stove that heats the cabin well in cooler weather.
Q: Do you have WiFi? How about cell phone coverage?
A: We just got WiFi installed via satellite, so you can use your computer, and also your cell phone if it connects to our WiFi. Internet usage is FREE if you only use it for email and surfing. If you need the Internet for streaming videos and games, however, there is an added charge. There is an option to pre-pay for streaming that can save you money if you plan to do a lot of streaming. As for non-WiFi cell coverage, it is non-existent for most providers except by using a calling card or make the trip to Tellico Plains where you may be able to pick up a signal.
Q: I don't have an off-road vehicle. Can I get there in my Chevy?
A: Although the last mile to the cabin is dirt and gravel, most cars have no trouble getting there. There is, however, a small creek to cross that will get your tires wet, so make sure you have at least 8 inches of clearance under your car to make it comfortably. During times in Winter or Spring when there is extreme weather like snow or heavy rain, however, you are encouraged to come in a 4 wheel drive or off-road vehicle. Bring chains for your ties in the winter months, just in case.
Q: Does the cabin have filtered water?
A: Yes! Although we have a well that provides good water, it sometimes has sediments. Therefore we installed a double-carbon filter between the well and basement water tank to provide sediment-free water for the hot tub, washing and showering. We also recently added an under-the-sink reverse-osmosis filter that takes out 99.7% of all impurities. You can now get pure drinking water by using the hooked dispenser in the kitchen sink.
