About the area
You wake, grab a coffee, head to the deck, relax at the table. A misty morning, but nature is just waking up, a few fishing boats randomly pass. Family and or friends work their way to the deck. Small talk! Set the days plans. Who's making breakfast?
Time to get going, pack a lunch and cooler and get dressed for the day. What to wear, obviously, the bathing suite, looks like a beautiful day! Head down to the beach, kids in tow.
It's a mad dash to the Cedar playhouse, parents bring down lawn chairs or beach gear. This is the warm up to the boat ride. Kids running around. They're already in the water. Nice gradual lake bottom, starts at 6 inches deep to 5 feet at dock end, 100 feet play area, mom’s sit on the seawall and engage. Great place for moms and kids. You might even throw a line out. You always see the fish from the shoreline, they hug the walls, especially early AM. Kids catch on. Flashlight at night is also interesting.
Put a log in the fire pit. That smell of burning firewood, cool breeze, sun coming up, lake comes to life, more boat watching as you relax. Now you are Lake Living!
I'm hot. Time to grab the pre-packed lunch and cooler. Head to the pontoon, board, safety first, back the boat out, and cruise to Randall Lake. Part of the 7 lake chain. You cruise through the large canals between the lakes, ducks, turtles, golfers, nature at its finest, get used to waving, you'll understand later, another part of the day!
That didn't address the heat. You cruise, anchor, they're electric - it's a vacation, not a job! You swim off the pontoon. Enjoy lunch, snacking, and water fun. Great boat ride, swimming, sunning, talking, just relaxing in the Michigan Great Outdoors! That's cool...
Another day you'll boat to Willow's Bar and Grill, nice ride, great food; fish, chicken, fries, just good. Fish Fry Friday evening, that's a lot of F's, say it three times. There's a State Beach at the end of the chain. Park, relax, swim, cruise in the boat, two lakes past Willow's.
Heading back to NRGLR. It's 5:00ish. Shower, change, get relaxed, back to the deck. What's up? Dinner, cook or go out? Golf Club of Coldwater, across the street, easy walk. Nice, a bit pricey, split the dinner, servings large, but good food and environment, nice bar area. It's Bill's Grill, an off-shoot of Bill's Steak House, in Bronson, 15 minute ride down US-12. The chief from BSH cooks at BG. I would consider the Steak House another evening if you like beef and fish? Willow's on the boat is a nice dinner too.
What's for desert? Kids now playing on the beach, fishing works too. Guests have caught 5lb bass off the doc k, beach point, yes, a favorite fishing spot for those that know the lake; you’ll see boaters parked off shore in the AM, at least on weekends, fun to watch.
Adults on deck, you could have grilled too, part of cooking-in. The sun is going down, great view, a few boats passing, they wave! Yep, you'll see everyone on the boat waves. It's Lake Living!
You eventually make it down the beach area, start a fire, relax. Kids tire themselves out. The playhouse, slide & swings, stone throwing, fishing, after an hour they’re finally settling down. Don't mention Smores, go ahead, adults also indulge.
So, the night gets delayed, due to the sugar. It's vacation. The adults make it back to the fire and it’s "Adult Chat Time". Nice end to a beautiful day, skins a bit hot from the sun, feels good though. Hey, by the way, is anyone golfing tomorrow? You'll love the house, location, and Lake Living!
