Perfect Beach House!!
September 6, 2015
This house is perfect for a large family. We had 8 stay and there was room for all. The guest house was perfect for the younger ones! The house is pure Beach House and had every amenity you need and then some. Plenty of room for "stuff". We especially LOVED the use of the private dock for fishing and crabbing and sunning...beach just a short walk was also great. The view from house and yard was perfect. Thanks for a wonderful time!!

Very nice house...great view..great dock

First of all, the photos don't do this cottage justice. The interior screams beach!!! We loved it. Spacious bright kitchen laundry and full bathroom right there was so convenient. The living area was very comfortable, even though it's a 2bdr house, all 5 of us never felt cramped! We ate all of our meals as well as beverages on the awesome front porch! Looking out at the water right across the road! Love the private dock, watching sailboats and the birds. We rented a golf cart , which in our opinion was a necessity to feel like you were apart of the community, friendly people, pretty beach, unique shops and great food! Very chill little waterfront town, with everything you need within a few miles. The beds were comfy, the bunkhouse was modern and comfortable for our 2 oldest , big back yard too. Mark was super easy to work with always quick to answer any questions. The ONLY reasons it didn't get 5 stars was that the kitchen could have used a few more utensils and pots and pans, and for us... Didn't care for swimming in the water, a lot of people did though! But please don't overlook this place for these minor issues. We want to come back!

I was in heaven for a week!
October 11, 2014
I spent half my life as a professional traveler (with the airlines) and the second half of my life as a vacation property manager and I can tell you I was pleased....and I am picky! Bed was comfy, sheets and towels soft, the giant wraparound sun porch was wonderful, furnishings very appealing, back yard big enough for a corn hole tournament, fenced yard to keep my dog safe and happy (when he wasn't out on the private dock basking in the sun). The sunrises in my "front yard" were sensational! I loved this house! I have already requested dates for a return visit (and I never repeat a destination!).

An Awesome Place!
August 2, 2014
We've stayed in other rentals throughout Virginia, including Colonial beach, and this one rates by far "Best All Around" for location, accomidations, cleanliness, and price. We thoroughly enjoyed having the private dock just steps away from the front door. The pups enjoyed the yard, and we enjoyed the fact that the place had every provision you could possibly think of. Did I mention the amazing view from the upstairs bedroom? Mark was a pleasure to deal with, and refunded our deposit promptly. We will definiately be back!

A Quiet Week Away
June 11, 2014
My husband and I had time for a week to ourselves while our son attended an event in the area. We picked this cute cottage mostly for its pet-friendly feature, though we ended up traveling without our dog. We were so glad to have chosen it anyway! The water view right out the front windows makes you feel you're "away" while still right in town. The houses are close together to take advantage of the waterfront, but we found the neighborhood to be very quiet. Lovely sunrises from the porch chaise longue or the master bedroom window. Several osprey nesting platforms have been erected along the waterfront, and the birds were fascinating to watch. We walked along the little beaches in town, took a few side trips in the area and ate out a few times--that's all we were looking to do. The quaint, older home has been freshened up beach-cottage style while keeping many of the great old features. Clean, new appliances in the kitchen are great. Having a washer and dryer available was helpful. Many supplies and household items were included--beach chairs and umbrella, cleaning and pantry items, etc. Newly installed tv, satellite service and wi-fi meant we could stay connected and spend a little time working. Mr. Simpson was a pleasure to deal with and quite flexible with our changing arrangements. Our deposit was returned promptly.
