Area Information
PIKES PEAK COTTAGE BY GARDEN OF THE GODS with a GREAT VIEW OF PIKES PEAK is perfectly located for experiencing Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Old Colorado City and the Pikes Peak Region. You will be right in the heart of all local attractions.

OLD COLORADO CITY is the oldest city in the Pikes Peak Region. Established in 1859 and designated the first capital of the Colorado Territory in 1861, it was annexed to Colorado Springs in 1917 and restored as Colorado Springs' only Historic District in 1977.

Another favorite stop on any tourist's list is magnificent towering sandstone red rock formations at GARDEN OF THE GODS, a 1,364-acre national landmark visible from many points in the city.

The INDIAN CLIFF DWELLINGS is a rare historical treasure. Preserved under a protective red sandstone overhang, authentic Anasazi cliff dwellings. The actual ruins (c.1100 - 1300 A.D.) provide a compelling setting for the Indian dancers who perform from June through August.

Drive the Pikes Peak Highway, hike the Barr Trail, or ride the PIKES PEAK COG RAILWAY to the 14,110 ft. summit for breathtaking view.

Take a tour at MIRAMONT CASTLE a Historic Victorian museum featuring 9 styles of architecture, CAVE OF THE WINDS, and INDIAN CLIFF DWELLINGS Museum. Nearby are the US Air Force Academy, US Olympic Training Center, historic Broadmoor Hotel, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo , and the Flying W Ranch.

Within an hour's drive are the Royal Gorge Bridge & Railroad (it is 1,053 ft high, come second to none to the awesome Grand Canyon), the gold mining town of Cripple Creek, Florissant Fossil Beds with its huge petrified redwoods and incredibly detailed fossils of ancient insects and plants.

Kids will be delighted to visit North Pole/Santa's Workshop, a Christmas Themed Family Amusement Park.

Exceeded my expectations

August 9, 2013

My sister and I took my Mom here for her 75th birthday. There is PLENTY to do and all very near. The neighborhood that the home is located in, is very quiet, and rarely a car goes by. I would recommend to anyone.

Owner's reply:

Thank you, Max.

We will be happy to accommodate you again for your next vacation in beautiful Colorado Springs!

I would never rent from here again

August 6, 2013

This property owner is the worst person I have ever dealt with in my life!!! I rented this cottage for my son's graduation from the Air Force Academy. The house was not what I expected but it was okay because we were close to the Academy and it made it convenient to go back and forth for the events. My problems with the property owner started about two weeks prior to our arrival. We had booked the cottage about a year prior so that when the event was closer we would not have to worry about a place to stay. I received an email from the property owner asking if we could change our dates by one day because there was someone else interested in renting the cottage that Saturday. I responded that we had plane tickets and that my son as well as graduating was getting married that week so we needed to keep the dates. She then called me and explained that a lady from Canada had a sick brother in the hospital in the area and she wanted to be near him. She offered me another property that was more expensive for the last night. I would have preferred to stay at the same location for the last night but in the interest of helping someone out I agreed to move. The real problem came when I tried to get my security deposit back. I emailed her when we returned home and inquired about the deposit. She responded two days later, after I had called as well, that she would get back to me shortly. I waited two more days and when I had not heard from her emailed her again. She answered that one the next day and said there were some issues. She said that someone had spilled what appeared to be hair dye in the bathroom and that there was a chip in the tub. No one dyed their hair and there was not a chip when we left. She said she inspected the Cottage prior to the Canadian lady arriving, but I don't believe that is true. In the end after we went back and forth and I ask point blank if I was getting my deposit back she said for $50 all could be fixed. Even though I do not think that we caused any damage I was tired of dealing with it and accepted the $200 (the deposit minus $50). I think that she has probably done this before and I would never recommend that anyone use this website as long as she is listed here. I plan on advising the parents Association at the Air Force Academy to stay away from this website and her rental properties

Delightful cozy home

September 29, 2011

This property was very clean and tidy and all the necessities you will need. Bedrooms are small but the living area is quite generous with a large backyard and all you need to have a BBQ . It's very close to a large grocery store and easy access to the freeway as well.

Great little cottage

July 29, 2011

We recently stayed at this cottage for a week and enjoyed our stay very much. The location is wonderful and you are very close to all the touristy things in CO Springs. The rooms aren't huge, but you're not spending much time there anyway, so that didn't bother us. The house is clean and everything is in working order. We have two children and it was nice to be able to fix our own food and not eat out every meal. The washer and dryer are a nice bonus, too. One drawback for us was the lack of wi-fi. It would be nice to have the option of logging onto your laptop or tablet and we couldn't. Overall this house is a bargain and you can't beat the location!

Terrible Experience

April 25, 2011

We thought we had found the perfect place to stay for our son's graduations from the AF Academy. But after dealing with this woman we'd never try to rent a place from her again. We had the damage deposit paid and the down payment paid too when she asked me in an e-mail if we had still planned to leave early as she had another party lined up to rent our property. When we didn't get back to her right away she went ahead and rented the home to the other party not even knowing if we would comply. When we said we would leave early to accomodate her new tenants she raised the home rate because we were staying a shorter time period as she had asked us to and when I objected she told us our contract was null and void and that she was returning our money. We had been basically thrown out of our rental home. I would tell you to stay away from this property and this lady in general. We are also calling the lodging association, the Better Business Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce to lodge our complaints.

Amazing

Thank you for a wonderful stay in your beautiful hotel suite. We recently visted Colorado to be with my son when he returned from Iraq. Our visit was made extra special because of where we stayed. The rooms had so much character and everything was so clean and well kept. I hope to visit again soon and plan on staying in the same suite.

Comfort Cottage

October 21, 2010

What a peaceful & cozy place to be . It was one of the coziest places that I have been to . The location was perfect for what we wanted to do . Wonderful neighborhood to walk in . We saw deer one morning on our walk . Everything seemed so peaceful .A very spacious backyard for our dogs . They loved the "dog park" that was just a bit down the road . Highly recommended to anyone that is stressed out . This was a stress free vacation for us . It is a very quiet neighborhood . I can't wait to go back again . Looking at Pike's Peak everyday in itself was just breath taking .

Happy with rental

October 18, 2010

We stayed 3 nights in this great little house which was centrally located to meet all of our needs. It was a nice house that had everything we needed and we were very pleased with the location. We never used the washer or dryer and never did cook, but it was nice to know the appliances were there if we needed them. The price was very affordable. Thank you.

Just what we were looking for

September 21, 2010

We had a very nice time in this home. It was very convenient to everything that we wanted to visit in the area. The home was comfortable for 6 adults and was located in a nice quiet location. It would be a great place if you have a small child as there are lots of toys/crib/high chair available for your use and the backyard is fenced in. We ate the majority of our meals out since there are so many wonderful restaurants in the area, however the kitchen is well stocked with anything you would need to cook for yourself. We would stay here again.

Cozy and Beautiful

The yurt is an awesome getaway from the normal hotel or condo. Your backdrop scenery is Pikes Peak and he lovely evergreens. Our family truly enjoyed the smells and sights of this location. The yurt itself has all the necessary amenities and is very quaint and cozy. Enjoyed it immensely!

Lost a day of our vacation!

June 24, 2010

Due to incorrect recordkeeping, the renter double-booked the house for the last night of our vacation. We had to vacate unexpectedly. Even after discovering her mistake, she was rude and uncooperative. I do NOT recommend staying here.

Nice Little House and a Great Location

April 23, 2010

We had a wonderful time in Colorado Springs, and loved your little house! It had all the amenities of home, and was in a nice, quiet location. We liked the view of Pikes Peak and cozy living room. We walked to historic district, found some great places to eat. There is a great antique shop there my husband bought an old German beer stienglass. We went to Garden of the Gods a few times and saw some deer at sunset. We had a great time in Colorado Springs.

Unsatisfied

I was unimpressed with the "cottage". The only truth to the listing was the location. The home was unkept, inside and out. We never recieved a refund for our deposit.

I would not recommend this property

September 7, 2008

Do the the location and condition of this property, I would NOT recommend this property to anyone. It is poorly remodeled and was not clean or available when we arrived. It was a disappointment and negatively effected our vacation. If a property in the 21st century does NOT have A/C, it should be disclosed.

Thank you for a nice stay. Great location.
We are considering a move to Colorado Springs so we will contact you about renting again if we come back to look at homes.
Thanks again. Jennifer

We had an awesome time! We loved staying in Colorado Springs and being so close to all the things we had on our list to see. Pikes Peak (via Cog Railway), Seven Falls and Garden of the Gods. We also went to the Air Force Academy and Focus on the Family...We have been long time listeners of this program and our boys have many of the Adventures in Odyssey CD that they have listened to for years. All these places are a must see for the first time visitor to the Colorado Springs area. On our way home we stopped at the Royal Gorge where my youngest son (11) dared to go fly on the Sky Coaster. Unforgettable!
Your house was very nice! My husband and I often commented on the fact that we would not have found a nicer or more convenient place to stay in Colorado Springs. Your cottage was clean and inviting, your kitchen had everything we needed to cook (loved the Foreman Grill). The beds were comfortable! The neighborhood was very quiet. We loved walking the streets of Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs and looking in all the different culture type shops. We had the BEST time on this family vacation and are so thankful for your hospitality in making our vacation one we will always remember. We so appreciated all the details you thought of in making our stay enjoyable...like the gift basket, the information binder, the beautiful bedding set for our room and the chocolate.
Thanks for your part in making our time in Colorado Springs memorable!!

Thank you for the cottage for Parents Weekend, the place worked out great and we had a wonderful time with our boys. Everything was fine with the house. It was very clean. Thank you for the breakfast basket. Location of the cottage is awesome! We enjoyed our stay very much.

Our stay at the cottage was wonderful. Thanks so much for the "goodies" and information brochures. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Thanks again for sharing the cottage.

Daryl

We had a wonderful time in Old Colorado City and would happily recommend your home to anyone vacationing in the area. The house was extremely close to many area attractions and fully equipped with everything we needed to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you for the t-shirts and breakfast basket in the kitchen; these were little touches that made a huge difference to us.

Thank you again for everything that you did to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. We hope to return in the future.

Sincerely,
T and S
