“Great Cabin & Location”
We had a great experience at Trapline Cabins. The cabin was beautiful inside, newly remodeled and you can tell it was done by someone who cared about creating an atmosphere that made you feel at home and out in the woods at the same time. It was very tastefully decorated, extremely clean and had everything we needed. They even brought in an extra bed for my son even though we didn't ask them to (I planned on having him sleep on an air mattress). I thought that was a very nice extra touch. Laura was a great hostess and her lab Toby was a wonderful ambassador as well! My son loved playing horseshoes and we enjoyed making s'mores around the fire pit. As previous reviewers mentioned, the cabin is near the highway but that was not a problem at all, we never heard the traffic at night. The cabins are only 15-20 minutes from the park and only a few minutes from the main part of Columbia Falls. We did have a bit of problem finding places to eat in Columbia Falls but really enjoyed a trip in to Whitefish for dinner one night, they have a really cool downtown area. Overall we loved staying at the cabin and would absolutely do so again if we head to Glacier Park again.
“A very peaceful, quite and very clean.”
From our initial contact with Laura we knew we would enjoy our stay. very clean and comfortable. The bed would not let us go in the morning. with the location close to town and close to the entrance of West Glacier National Park. this location worked perfectly for us. plenty of room, kitchen well appointed. and hot water for the bath. See you again Laura S.
“Columbia Falls Montana”
Nice, comfortable, well stocked little cabin, all new inside and out including the air conditioner and everything else from the dishes to the pictures on the walls to the towels. Great location, close to just about everything situated at the crossroads of two main highways giving good access to all the areas attractions and also near town. This is an ideal spot to travel to with a group of family members or friends. There are several units with lots of room for group activities outside but allowing each family/couple privacy in their own space. Owners easy to work with, very accommodating and keep the cabins and grounds well maintained.
Owner's reply: Thank you Allen for the nice review. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. I hope you come back to stay next time you're in the Flathead Valley. Laura
Owner Supplied Testimonials
My husband and I (and our small dog) enjoyed our stay at the Trapline cabins. The cabin is conveniently located right off the highway halfway between Whitefish and the West Glacier entrance to the park. The cabin was newly remodeled and very clean. After a long drive and arriving late, we were pleasantly surprised and happy to have a comfortable, clean and nice place to rest. Our cabin had a studio-type layout with one large room containing the bed, living area and kitchen and a private bathroom. The kitchen had everything we needed, including some basic pantry items; salt & pepper, olive oil, even coffee! The bathroom also has basic toiletries. The owner, Laura and her dog Toby were extremely friendly and accommodating. She contacted me before the trip to see if we have questions, to give us directions, and even to let us know about road closures due to the wildfires. She also gave us recommendations on things to do, places to eat, etc. Our full deposit was refunded shortly after our trip with no issues. Overall, this is a great cabin and I would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone looking for a clean, affordable and convenient place to stay near Glacier Park. Great place and great owners!
Great Stay at Trapline!!!!
Trapline cabins were awesome! The cabin we stayed in was recently renovated. The bed was very comfortable and kitchen and bathroom had everything you needed. Location was great. It was about a 20 minute drive to Glacier and Whitefish and about 5 minutes to downtown Columbia Falls. I highly recommend!!!!

Great Little Cabin
Stayed for about a week at the Trapline Cabins while exploring Glacier National Park. I would definitely stay here again if I was planning to visit the west side of GNP or surrounding area again. The location was very convenient to the airport, GNP, local restaurants and grocery stores, etc. The cabin was clean and well cared for and had everything I needed to stay comfortable, including all the necessary cooking supplies. It was hot in the evenings (unusually hot), so the owner (Laura) actually added an air conditioner to the cabin 3 days into my stay. Laura was very friendly and accommodating, and she can provide a wealth of information about the area if asked.
Great place to stay!
We had a great time here! The cabin was clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable for 2. The kitchen was very well stocked. We also enjoyed the fire pit each night; everything we needed was right there - matches, fire starter, and plenty of firewood. The property is right off of Hwy 2, which is a pretty busy road during the day, but it quiets down at night and the road noise never bothered us while we slept. We really loved the central location - it was very easy to get to Kalispell, Whitefish, and the Park. We would stay here again!
Trapline Cabins, for the two of us, was a perfect choice for our 8 day stay in the Flathead Valley. 15 minutes or less from the west entrance to Glacier NP, the airport, and downtown Whitefish. Doesn't get any more convenient than that if you're here to hike, ski, hunt, or fish. The cabins have been completely remodeled by some VERY talented proprietors and look brand new. Our cabin was very tastefully decorated, complete with local artisan products and some really good local photography. On arrival, our cabin was neat as a pin and clean. I mean immaculate clean. We felt comfortable the moment we walked through the door. The kitchen is complete with just about anything you'd need to cook dinner if you get sick of going out. The shower is awesome with great water pressure and plenty hot. Perfect after hiking. The owners paid attention to every detail of our stay from booking to departure. They're loaded with local knowledge and are more than happy to share it. And if you need a dog fix like we did, they have a beautiful yellow Lab, Toby, who is also more than willing to help you out. We can't say enough about the accommodations. Like I said, a great place and also a great value. We will most definitely be staying at Trapline Cabins on our next trip to the Flathead, you should too.
We recently enjoyed a one week stay in Cabin A. The cabin was exactly as described, and well located for visiting Glacier National Park and other area attractions including the National Bison Range and Flathead Lake. Although the primary reason for our visit was to see Glacier, these other attractions proved invaluable because of cold, rainy weather the first five days of our trip. The bison range is particularly good for a rainy day. The approach there is a bit like the safaris that one sometimes sees on TV. You drive through the range on a well maintained dirt road and see the animals (when you can find them!) from your car. It is not a zoo, and the animals really are wild. During our visit we saw a black bear, bighorn sheep, antelope, deer (various kinds), a golden owl -and of course herds of bison. The cabin is convenient (by car) to Glacier National Park. Even in non-stop cold rain, we found the Avalanche Trail and beautiful Avalanche Lake to be well worth the effort. Once the rain finally cleared, the park was spectacular as is well known. Trapline Cabins is located next to a highway on the outskirts of Columbia Falls. Although we did not choose Columbia Falls for its shopping; everything that we needed was within a short driving distance. For example, there are two supermarkets (both are large and stock beer and wine in addition to food; at least one is open 24 hours), a hardware store (maybe more than one), several simple restaurants, and all of the shops that one would expect in a moderately large rural town. Nearby dining options include good BBQ at the "Back Room at the Night Owl" and Backslope Brewing for good beer and burgers. Most nights, however, we chose to eat in. Between the supermarkets and the cabin's kitchen, we had everything that we needed. The cabin itself was clean, recently renovated, and very well maintained. Everything in the cabin worked flawlessly. We were looking for a good self catered cabin, and this is exactly what the owners delivered. The online description and photos convey an excellent impression of what one will find. We would definitely recommend Trapline Cabins to friends and family.
On our trip to several National Parks in this area of the country we stayed in several cabins. This was the best one. It was very clean and decorated beautifully. The setting was restful. The cabin provided everything we needed and wanted. We also travelled with our 2 dogs and the accommodations were wonderful with a large green area to walk them. The location was perfect. It was close to Glacier National Park as well as Whitefish. We discovered a neat whisky distillery close by and had a great experience there. That was a first for us. We travelled to Whitefish daily, very close by, with a huge assortment of shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this group of cabins to anyone travelling in this area.Recommended for: Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Adventure Seekers, Age 55+, Romantic Getaway.
Thank you so much for the lovely review. It makes us so happy when our guests feel comfortable and enjoy their stay. Whitefish is a great place for food, drinks and entertainment for sure. We got there all the time! Come stay with us again any time! Laura
