“A Mixed Bag”
Here ia a copy of a critique of the Bear Paw Cabin as shares with its owner, Scott Wenham, on November 1. “ Scott: Thank you for the opportunity to stay at your Bear Paw Cabin. It was cozy and in a good location for our interests. We do have several observations and suggestions that we would like to share with you. — the top dinner plate in the stack was greasy; a number of others, while not greasy, benefitted from a scrub. Ditto the silverware. — mouse turds on the countertop behind the sink. — the inside of the microwave oven was spattered, necessitating a cleaning. — light on the bottom of the microwave above the stove top Is out. __ Lightbulb in bathroom ceiling fixture is intermittent (may need to be screwed in?) — the Bear Paw Cabin and house number are hard to read when approaching the house the first time. — high speed internet is a misnomer; it is DSL; it was definitely low speed during our four days there — would be nice to have dish towels and pot holders for grabbing hot pans. — couldn‘t get the Direct TV to work; what instructions were there were not helpful. — various pieces are missing from the nice collection of games. — why was it a surprise to you that king bed sheets were missing when I called? You said that this was not the first time it had happened. — we found a piece of someone else‘s jig saw on the floor under the dining table; wouldn‘t a sweep up by your housekeeper picked this up? Or perhaps she just didn‘t sweep under there? When were you last at the cabin to check up on the work of your housekeeper? I get the sense that she is a minimalist who needs to be managed. Other than that, we had a wonderful time. Stan” P.S. The well water at the Bear Paw tastes like it has a lot of iron in it, so guests may wish to take their own drinking wayer.
“Great time”
Beautiful cabin. Loved sleeping to the sound of the stream. Great time. Loved the fire and all of the ammenities.
“A Great Place to Get Away”
My husband and I plus our golden retriever stayed at Bear Paw for 3 days. The cabin is in a private location and is far enough off the road that I didn't have to be concerned about the dog. I loved the cabin. It was very cozy, plenty warm enough and was well stocked. Even though it was Dec. we sat out on the screened in porch and could listen to the brook that ran right next to the cabin, how relaxing. I had e-mailed Scott, the owner, several times and he was very responsive. Ohio Pyle is close by and is worth going to see if you have never been there before. The little town of Confluence has 2 small grocery stores. The people that we had talked to were very friendly. We definitely will go back. What a wonderful place to just relax.
“Well-maintained and private cabin on the banks of the Youghiogheny River”
The Bear Paw Cabin was everything we'd hoped for and more, offering plenty of privacy on roughly 8 acres situated within the stunning beauty of the Laurel Highlands of PA. Complete with a wonderful cabin-length covered front porch and a rear screened patio featuring amazing sounds and views of the rushing river below. The cabin also contains an elevated attached deck with plenty of space for entertaining along with ceiling fans in every room that provide a nice breeze on even the warmest afternoons. Close to incredible outdoor recreational and historical sites such as Ohiopyle State Park, Fort Necessity Battlefield and Frank Lloyd Wright constructed homes. The village of Confluence is just minutes away...dinner at the River's Edge Cafe bed and breakfast is a must! Unable to pack all of the fantastic outdoor activities into one 3-night stay. We'll definitely be back!!!
“Family camping”

“Relaxing”
Cozy cabin. Beautiful property. It felt like our own little oasis. Super close to the lake! Had a super relaxing getaway.
“One of the best cabins we've ever rented”
Clean, warm, well-decorated, stocked cabinets, beautiful views from the back porch. Will visit again!
“Our family vacation”
It was a wonderful weekend. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations. Everything was as promised and more. I recommend the Bear Paw Cabin for those wanting a relaxing time.
“Great family cabin! Location perfect for enjoying activities Laurel Highlands as to offer.”
The Bear Paw cabin had everything we needed for a long weekend get away. Wish we could have stayed longer. Hope we can go back!
“Perfect cabin for our family of 6!”
This cabin was the perfect spot for our Whitewater Rafting Adventure. The setting was beautiful, the cabin was roomy and neat as a pin. We loved the fire pit and hearing the stream running behind us as we sat by the campfire. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
