Coos Bay Christmas lights

December 17, 2012

We stayed at Annie's cottage just for one night but wished we could stay longer. The cottage is lovely. Very roomy and yet cozy. Annie left the lights and heat on for us. It is a beautiful place, full of nice amenities and charm. We will definitely stay next time we are in town. Highly recommended!

Owner's reply:

Thank you Susan! What fun it is to have people coming to see the Shore Acres Christmas lights and have a cozy night on the coast! You were great guests, looking forward to your next visit!

Owner Supplied Testimonials

Annie's Cottage is my refuge bringing rest, peace of mind, tranquility, in a world of fast paced EVERYTHING-my time here in this peaceful environment has allowed me to BREATH! I love sitting and watching the bay upstairs, the lovely sound of the fountain outside, and the lovely soak in the jacuzzi tub. A place I've found clarity of thought and internal peace. Thank you! Karla

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is your Cottage right on the Ocean?
A: No, the Cottage is a block off the Bay, and the highway that leads out to the ocean beaches, approx. 8 miles away, through the little fishing village of Charleston. The benefit our guests have told us, about staying at the Cottage instead of places they've stayed right on the ocean, is less moisture and humidity.
Q: Do you have a view of the ocean?
A: From the Barcaloungers upstairs, you can enjoy bay views, overlooking the Historic Empire House. These are the earliest homes in Empire. Across the bay, sand dunes are seen, and past them, a glimpse of the ocean in the distance.
Q: What do your guests say they like most about the Cottage?
A: The "home away from home" feeling they get, and the decor. Some of our guests have indicated that they planned to go sightseeing, but enjoyed hanging out at the Cottage so much, they didn't venture out. Many people have just enjoyed sitting by the waterfall, watching the birds play in the water, or reading a good book.
Q: Where do people go to play?
A: Hiking trails, beaches, dune buggy rentals, fishing and shopping can be found in all directions from the Cottage. There are festivals year around, and the temperatures are moderate, so off season travel is often very comfortable. Since this is a working town, and not a tourist town only, you will find things to do year around.
