Corolla Wild Horses
For more than 400 years, the small, swift and sturdy Corolla Wild Horses have run free on the Currituck Outer Banks. These beautiful Spanish mustangs can still be seen roaming the beaches.
The Whalehead Club at Currituck Heritage Park
Built in the mid-1920's, the Whalehead Club continues to stand as one of the most spectacular landmarks on the Currituck Outer Banks. Owners, Edward Collings and Marie Louise Knight traveled to Corolla from points north and used Corolla Island as their winter residence from 1925-34. Boasting art nouveau architectural styling and accented with Tiffany lamps, cork-tiled floors, brass duck head and water lily hardware, this magnificent structure stood isolated for years on these remote barrier islands and has been fully restored.
Currituck Heritage Park
For a relaxing day, visit Currituck Heritage Park, located at the Whalehead Club in Corolla. Take a stroll along the winding walkways that lead visitors to the original boathouse and pedestrian footbridge, both listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Just north of the boathouse are two additional restored structures: the Currituck Beach Lighthouse and Light Keeper's House. Built in 1875 and Towering 163 feet high, the lighthouse welcomes visitors to climb its 214 steps to the top. The keeper's quarters has been restored and is currently used as a private residence. Tours of the Currituck Lighthouse are held daily from Easter to Thanksgiving.

Reviews for this vacation home rental in Corolla, North Carolina
August 8, 2014
We were very happy with the house. Good location walking distance to shopping puttputt grocery store restaurant and beach. The house was very comfortable and had a lot of amenities everything in good condition. When we first got there the grass was a bit high but they came the next day and cut the grass. They wee good about cleaning hot tub but they should clean pool mid week too. The house was clean for the most part. Cleaners could do a little better job but for the most part was good. I would recommend staying at this house . Beach not crowded. Good location if you just want to spend quiet relaxing vacation away from all the crowds. The only part we didn't like was the traffic getting there. I would suggest you go Friday to Friday if you can not Saturday to Saturday. Thank you for allowing my family to use your home.

The house was very clean upon arrival and plenty of space for everyone, even the kids. The pool was a big bonus especially for the kids. We had a blast just being able to be with family, but at the same time having our own space.

We loved this house! It fit our family absolutely perfect! It was a short walk to the beach and close to everything we needed. It was the cleanest and best maintained home we've ever rented. We would definitely come back.

Our family had a great experience! The house was clean, well equiped and convienant to beach, shopping and restaurants. Our first trip to Outer Banks and if we figure out how to beat the Saturday traffic we will be back!!

Great off-season rates

This house had everything we needed to provide a great week of fun for 5 kids. Pool, hot tub, playground, walk to the beach and great extras like pack and plays, high chairs and baby gates. The biggest issue I found were the beds. They were VERY uncomfortable...especially the kids bunk beds, which were literally hard. My only other complaint is that the house was completely devoid of any provisions. Aside from a roll of toilet paper, we had to immediately go to the grocery store and get everything from paper towels to condiments. We were unable to pack these as we flew in for this vacation. I would have liked to have seen a roll of paper towels and some of the other basics just to get us started. Otherwise, the house was perfect for us.
