Beachy colors are hi-lighted throughout the house with art and accent walls. Relax by the Private Heated Pool (no cost for heat), make a drink at the poolside Tropical Tiki-Bar with a Mini Fridge and Sound System, and enjoy the Hot Tub and the convenience of a poolside bathroom and shower. Keep cool at the beach or the pool with the 50ppd ice machine and wine chiller. The beach is located just 186 yards from Terrapin Station and is a short walk away via Marlin Walkway. Our guests enjoy watching the sun rise in the morning and happy hours on the Observation Tower at sunset. Outdoor fun continues with both charcoal and gas grills, as well as horseshoes, basketball and a near regulation size sand volleyball court with PVC boundaries. If you are just looking to unwind, the hammock on the mid-level deck is the place for you. Multiple decks surround 3 sides of the house. Billiards, Foosball and Karaoke are always a blast in the 1st floor game room. The third floor Master Suite includes a Jacuzzi Tub to maximize your relaxation and a private balcony with ocean views. “Great value, wonderful family vacation”

Reviewed 23 May 2017

If you need 9 bedrooms and 5 of them suites, look no further. This is the best house for your money. We had a wonderful 4 generation family vacation at Terrapin Station. Lots of activity locations in the house. Even though the house was full of people you never felt crowded together. The kids (and the adults) loved the heated pool, it was hard to get my granddaughter out of it. The powder room and outdoor shower next to the pool are so convenient. My daughter-in-law said it was the best rental house she has ever seen and that the whole house was so well planned, inside and out, to give you a wonderful stay. The kitchen is well equipped, I enjoyed cooking and baking while there. The beds were comfortable and helped us have a restful week. Historic Corolla has many activities just 5 minutes away, including the lighthouse, the Currituck County museum, restaurants, a yoga studio and outdoor adventure rentals and tours. Some in our party drove to Nags Head to visit the Wright Brothers Memorial and take hang gliding lessons. The attached photo was taken from the crows nest on top of the house showing sunrise over the ocean.

“Wonderful Vacation Home!”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2016

We had two extended families stay here with some friends included as well. A very large group and the house easily accommodated us all. 5 of the bedrooms have their own private bathroom which was very nice. We enjoyed the pool table and had many exciting volleyball games on the huge volleyball court. The pool and outdoor area was perfect for hanging out and the pool gets sun all day long. The beach is just a short walk away made even easier with the handy cart provided to put all your stuff in. I highly recommend this home for a vacation. It was clean and nicely decorated and had plenty of kitchen items to make preparing large meals for lots of people very easy. There are even two dishwashers so cleaning up is no problem. The ice maker is also a convenience for filling up your cooler when packing for the beach. The crow's nest is one of the highest in the area and the view was stunning.

“Outstanding Vacation Rental”

This is a large, beautiful home located in beautiful Corolla, NC. The home is very well equipped and very spacious. It's also beautifully decorated. It's obvious the homeowners take great pride in this property. Don't hesitate to rent this property. You won't be sorry!

“Fantastic time...despite the rain!”

Wonderful home close to the beach. Well maintained and great amenities. The heated pool and hot tub were great. We normally go to Nags Head, but I saw this house and I had to rent it. Looks like I found a new place to stay when I go to the Outer banks! Owner was responsive and friendly. I really appreciate an owner who loves his home and keeps it up with such pride! Thanks Jim!

“Best family/friends vacation ever”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2015

Where should I start...sigh...First of all I want to say that this vacation will be in my family's heart forever. What a great time we had at this home. This was our first time at the outer banks. My best friends from college and I decided to have a reunion with our families (husbands and children). Some of us live in different states and have not seen each other in years and our kids had not have the chance to get together and become close...Well, this house allowed us to do what we wished for...from enjoying swimming and playing in the pool for countless hours to watching movies, playing games, riding bicycles and going to the beach which was literally 5 min walking distance. Our kids had more than enough quality time. This house was perfect for us, the rooms are very spacious, comfortable beds and with independent bathrooms and showers, the kitchen and dining rooms with great space for all to sit comfortably and eat together...there is just so much room everywhere that even if you want to have some alone time you have so many places to choose from...my favorite was the roof...man what a beautiful view from there, I was able to see the sunrise with my husband from there and it was just spectacular and romantic. Once our kids went to bed, the adults enjoyed the pool and Jacuzzi which happen to be next to the tikki bar and the grill (well the house has charcoal grills but we rented a gas one for the week). We also had a blast playing volleyball. The house is equipped with most of everything you'll need to have a great time-toys, beach chairs-many, surf boards, umbrellas, many dishes, cookware, an awesome ice machine...I just loved this home and appreciated every detail put into it by the owners...also this home is super close to everything and is one of the best looking ones as well :-). The only negative comment I have about our experience at the home is that there was little to no room to put our food/condiments away because all the cabinets were full with plates and glasses other than that everything else was fabulous!!! will definitely go back to this home!!!

Owner's reply: Thanks for the great review Wendy. Based on your comments, we have reorganized and labeled all of the kitchen cabinets, reserving two of the larger cabinets as a pantry for food items only. We have also added a gas grill.

20 members of my family recently stayed at terrapin station, ranging in ages from 2 to 59. The house suited us perfectly! There was so much room, the house was actually quiet even though there were 9 kids! The pool and tiki bar were a huge hit and we spent most of our time there. Would definitely recommend this house!

“Awesome Vacation”

Reviewed 18 May 2015

This is the first place I have stayed where the pictures didn't give it justice. The house is well equipped, clean, and everything is in working order. The pool and hot tub were cleaned twice during our 7 day stay. The only thing to be aware of is there are 21 steps from the first floor to the third, so if someone in your party is disabled it's probably not for you. Everything you need in one spot with a grocery store less than a mile away.

“THE PERFECT GETAWAY”

Reviewed 4 Oct 2014

We celebrated my husbands 60th surprise birthday party at this location. This home is decorated beautifully and very warm and welcoming. It is located in a great area, close to retail shops / food stores / tours to see the wild horses / dining. It supplies you with every household item you could possibly need during your stay. The dining area is big enough to accommodate 20 people, if you do have 20 people staying there. Our family enjoyed the spiral staircase leading up to the top landing to fly kites, and we were higher then all the other homes, great also for seeing the sunset. The heated pool was an asset along with the tiki bar to just sit back and relax. The beach is truly with in walking distance to the home, even for the younger ones. No complaints from my 5 and 7 year old great nieces. The homeowners Jim and Linda were very nice to discuss the rental details with me.. A huge decision on why this home was decided on over others was because Jim and Linda were kind enough to let us stay to the following Sunday because family from the Northeast were coming more towards the end of the week and we did not have to rush and check out Saturday at 9AM. Our family is already seriously thinking about making this an annual event every summer and have already discussed with me about renting this home again next year. It truly is a great get away.

“Family Vacation Memories”

Reviewed 4 Oct 2014

This has been our third trip back. We love this house, it has the perfect location. Short walk to the beach and shopping near by. Having the in ground pool, hot tub and volleyball court really make it the place for our family to gather and have a great time. Changes have been that just make it an even better stay. As the parents of the large group we bring it is just great having everyone all together comfortably to make vacation memories that last a lifetime. Highly recommend this house as a getaway.

“Terrapin Station Fun”

The owners have made a few enhancements to this vacation home. We love everything that they have done. Almost every bedroom has its own bathroom! The house and its location offers everything that we needed for a fun filled easy vacation. The pool, hot tub and volley ball court is awesome. All within walking distance of the beach offers endless options. The house and landscaping are both beautifully maintained. This was our third year here and we will be back!

Our Family Vacation At The Outer Banks Terrapin Station Home. We were very excited to spend a week in the Outer Banks and were not disappointed upon arrival. Our group of 9 adults and 3 children were very comfortable in the home. It was roomy and full of lovely areas for everyone to be together or sneak away to read a book. We all enjoyed the multiple levels of decking and the fun crow's nest with the amazing views. The breakfast nook was the place we spent alot of time doing jigsaw puzzles and playing games. Thanks to the additional large dining room table and kitchen island, we were able to leave them laying out. Speaking of games, the game room with the pool table was awesome! We really loved the radio that was connected to the speakers outside. Nothing can beat floating on a raft listening to your favorite tunes! By far, the biggest hit for everyone was the pool! We used it everyday without fail. It was very short and convenient walk from the house to the beach. We spent mornings there, came home for lunch, and spent afternoons in the pool. The hot tub and volleyball court were also wonderful amenities. There was alot of night time soaking and relaxing! The outdoor facilities were also very convenient especially with small children. The entire family had such a wonderful time we are planning to return for another week this year. Overall, this was a very enjoyable vacation home with a boat load of extra's.

Terrapin Station was fantastic. This was the first time for my family to get together in 5 1/2 years. We had never done a vacation like this before. The house was equiped with everything we needed. There were puzzles that everyone got invalved with. With all the TV's you could watch what you wanted. It was clean and fitted our needs very well. The distance to the beach was short, and we went to the beach for the sun rise most mornings. We felt safe in the neighborhood with our walks at any time of day. They children loved the pool they were in it every day. We will be back again to Terrapin Station. Elan was great to work with and they made it very easy to do.

We had a lovely time at Terrapin Station. The house accommodated all 19 of us. ( age range from 2-60). Pool and Tiki bar were great. Close to beach and grocery store. The downstair fridge was not very cold, an ice maker would be great help. Over all it was a great time and loved the house, would definitely recommend!

The Terrapin Station was very comfy and spacious for our 24 person group. Everyone was able to join in the living ro for family time and later everyone could escape to their own little nook for private time. The home had an abundance of supplies both for beach and kitchen- which is great because you don't have to worry about packing all the little things. One suggestion- bring your own toilet paper- with all those bathrooms you'll be in need. Overall, fantastic place - and I will be visiting again soon hopefully.

The place was better than expected, the two dish washers were a big plus with 23 people eating all week. We all felt that there was enough space that we were not crowded, everyone had room. We were also very pleased that you could not get to the pool area, expect through child proof gates. We had 7 children, 4 under 6 years old. Very nice vacation. Thanks

This is the second year of my family staying at Terrapin Station. The house is so beautiful and well maintained. The staff at Elan vacations are all so helpful and friendly. I'd like to see about staying mid-summer, but we would need to probably hold off until 2017 to saveup as the cost is higher in-season. But, let me repeat...... Terrapin Station is the place to stay as a larger family, or a great group of friends. Enjoy!
