Description of the Coronado vacation home rental
Near the beach, in a safe, gated community of 18 homes. We are a 4 minute walk to the best beach in Panama. The beach is virtually empty most days. It is a great walking or swimming beach, with a fish co-op for inexpensive, fresh fish daily, and even horses that can be rented for riding. We have boogie boards and beach toys for your use.

We have lived in this unit for several years, so it is well equipped. It has the most complete kitchen in the complex. There is a master bedroom with a queen bed, a second bedroom with two twin beds, and a third sleeping porch (has no A/C) with two twin beds. There is one bathroom with a shower, a second with a toilet and sink, and an outdoor shower.

Water outages in Panama are common, so we have installed a reserve tank that will last several days. The average water outage is about 24 hours. No worries for you!

Our kitchen has a large U shaped counter for food preparation. We have seated 11 around our nearby dining table. There is a cook top and a small oven for any baking. All dishes and towels are provided, even some seasonings.

There is a washer and drier in the unit.

The covered porch has a BBQ and we use it for most of our cooking.

There is a covered, open terrazzo in the back for outdoor dining.

We have cable TV and reliable wifi.

Area Information
The Gorgona and Coronado beaches are the first beaches when coming out from Panama City. The city itself does not have any decent beaches, just mud flats.

Our Gorgona beach is great for walking and swimming. Boogie boarding (we have boards) is good just in front of our complex, and surfing is good about a mile or so up the beach at Malibu. where the Chame river flows into the ocean. One of our neighbors is an avid surfer, and loves to talk surfing. You can walk or drive there.

The local fish coop has fresh fish daily starting at $1 per pound. It is 5 minute walk. We have a very limited amount of fishing gear, if you are into catching your own.

There are an increasing number of good restaurants near us. Locos and La Ruina are two. There are local Super Mercados for basic needs, and street side fruit stands. A ten minute drive will take you to the Coronado shopping area with 3 (El Rey, Machitazo and Super 99) large western style super markets, an organic food store (Oganica), several more good restaurants, like Cholos, Rincon del Chef, Picassos and more. Some of our renters have enjoyed Panama without renting a car. This requires patience, but the taxi and bus system is good.

Our town is a formerly sleepy fishing village, which now has several beach front condos. The owners of these units visit only a few weeks per year, so we still have our spacious, largely unoccupied beach. The village still retains much of its original flavor, which we love.

Great safe place. Lots of room. AC. Close to the beach about 3 min. walk(had the beach to ourselves most of the time) Awesome mixture of white sand and black sand beach. Close to Coronado to eat out. Nice people in surrounding houses. Pool was a great plus. Good price for size of house. Some things weren't extremely clean but since I'm not a clean freak it didn't bother me. Somewhat tricky to find but the property manager met us at the entrance of Gorgona and was easy to reach and very nice. Just remember where the place is for when you have to go back on your own. Rough road but not unlikely in Panama! Happy with our stay altogether.
