Description from owner
Villa Debra is a luxury 4 bedroom home situated directly on the beach in Costa del Sol - a gated oceanfront community. The front door is only 65 feet from the turquoise and transparent sea. The sea in front is within the bounds of the Cozumel Reefs National Park. This home is located just south of Chankanaab National Park and only a 15 minute drive to downtown San Miguel. This luxurious home is part of the new community Costa del Sol, with 24 hour security, 135 ft pier, 400 ft beach, infinity pool plus children's pool. Diving clubs can rent multiple homes in the community to accomodate larger groups. Just ask me about this.
This four-bedroom home has three bedrooms on the first floor, each with a private bath. And, an incredibly huge second floor master suite with double bathroom. There are gorgeous views of the water from most every room and the "million-dollar view" from the second floor deck which will accomodate a large group. The first floor is spacious and open with a completely equipped kitchen which flows into the large dining room with seating for twelve. The living room, as well as the first floor master bedroom, is a wall of windows with a direct view of the water.
Beds: 2 King Beds, 3 Queen Beds, 1 Twin Bed, 2 Sofa Beds, 1 Crib

The home was spacious, adequately stocked and well decorated. We love this little community, it's the only place we stay when we visit Cozumel. Downtown is nice but we prefer to avoid the cruise ship crowds. It's conveniently located near a taxi station if you don't want to rent a car but still want to get out and about. I love the pedestrian lane, on the coastal highway, for a morning run before getting picked up at the private pier for a scuba dive, catamaran cruise or just snorkeling right in front of the house. The pier provides a nice shady spot for fish to gather and a perch for the resident pelican(s). Book a private chef and you'll not even want to leave the serene views. Our young daughter loved the multiple level kiddie pool, watching the hermit crabs, the fish, the crab, the iguanas, wading in the protected ocean area and I could keep going.
Owner's reply: Thank you Kendel: We appreciate you choosing staying with us, and look forward to see you again. Maids appreciate all the goodies you left for them. You guys were so clean, generous, kind and even you had a large wedding crowd all was very well taking care of. Again Thank you Jasianna K. Jaxen
“You would be a fool not to book!”
I didn't plan or pick this place for our vacation but it was mind blowing. There was 4 bedrooms (one with a double bed) and each had their own bathroom with walk in showers. The master was HUGE and had a giant rooftop deck outside the doors. Tons of chairs and recliners for everyone. Cleaning service twice a week. Washer and dryer so even between house cleanings we had fresh towels. Filtered water. Hammock. Kayaks. So many amenities! While the house is giant, magnificent, and exceeded any of our expectations - the beach access and view was the cherry on top. The pictures do not do it justice at all. It's right on the beach. The view is incredible and so beautiful. Plus you can kayak and snorkel right off the dock. The boats for scuba and fishing will pick you up right on the dock which is literally right next to the house. We had challenges the first night finding food because it was late and the house is by the aquarium - 15 minutes south from downtown. Not much around late night, but the owners were so incredible they went and got us pizza! Completely unnecessary but a lifesaver. The next day we went to the MEGA downtown which is like a Wal-Mart and we were good the rest of the trip. One way Taxi for us was usually $30 USD for 9. Next time we will get a van. The resort staff was incredibly helpful and always at our disposal. The owner of the house and her family were incredibly nice, very focused on ensuring our experience was perfect, and just very good people. All of us said it was the best housing we'eve stayed in while on ANY vacation. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Owner's reply: Thank you Jack and Family : We appreciate very much your recommendation and look forward to see you again in our humble Villa. You guys Rock as guest, clean, friendly, nice kind family. Wellcome back anytime. Jasianna K. Jaxen
“Villa Debra = Magnificent”
Villa Debra was exactly as advertised and pictures, a 4 br house right on the beach with 3 true master suites (2 up, 1 down), a huge 2nd floor deck facing the ocean, and 1 dual queen bedroom downstairs with a slightly smaller bath for the kids or junior members of the party. The swim area off the pier included at least 5 small pieces of coral reef with good fish for snorkeling. Staff were amazingly friendly and efficient. The kitchen was great, with full sized American appliances and lots of dishes and utensils. we cooked there every night. We hope to go again.
Owner Supplied Testimonials
This year's trip was another great success. I entertained 40 clients, business friends and family over 4 weeks on Cozumel.
The only real hurricane issues I experienced were the trees not having all their leaves back yet and the lack of sand on the channel side of the islands beaches. But by the time I was leaving the trees were beginning to show a lot of improvement. On a positive note the hurricane clearly and very outwardly tightened the community spirit on Cozumel. The survival stories were great! Cozumel has a lot to be proud of compared to the rebuilding (or lack thereof) on the American Gulf coast. No comparison.
If you have not been to Costa del Sol, you should. I have visited Cozumel over 20 times. I used to stay at Plaza Las Glorias, and then stayed at Las Brisas and last year a large villa called Santa Pliar, none remotely matched the quality of the 2 homes I stayed in over a 4 week period at Costa Del Sol. The 2 houses were Casa Deb and Cozumel Sol. Simply put they are brand new very large water front homes with American appliances / fixtures and beautiful Mexican furnishings. The grounds while still under construction were very nice. The pool was great and the hot tub was a nice feature. Their pier was especially convenient for us as our fishing boats and dive boats picked up up and returned us almost to our doorstep. Amber, Jim, Rick & Lynda with Cozumel Luxury Rentals were spectacular hosts. They came by everyday to check on us and if there was the least of a problem they fixed it almost immediately. Highly recommend these homes and the management company. Deb Stein and Darin Medley both posters on this site are the owners of the homes and checked in with us as well. It is always nice to feel like a customer.
We opted for the in home Chef service 7 mornings and 5 evenings a week. Lisa, Mario and Jose from Rock'n Java catered all our meals. I am still full. We had Mexican, American and even Italian gourmet food. They even made chicken fingers and homemade macaroni & cheese for the kids. While it was not cheap it was well worth the $50 /day for adults, $40 / day for teenagers and $8/ day for kids which included cocktails and appetizers before dinner for the adults. They served us more than we could eat, when we wanted to eat, which often changed a few times a week. Lisa would even pick up things from the store for us (no shopping fee) They were very careful to allow us our privacy but were also very much part of the group too. Every time we caught fish we would take them to Kelly's Bar & Grill to cook them. They did a great job. I would usually bring the fish around 7ish and let the troops get some shopping done and meet back arould 8:30 for dinner. Gene and his gang would prepare our own family style meal including drinks for about $20 a person (not a fixed price).
Every week we went to the wild side, scuba dove, snorkeled and fished. Wahoo tours arranged everything. Everyday either Jim or Manny would come to the house at breakfast and cocktails hour to see what we wanted to do. As a thank you gift they arranged a show featuring an excellent guitar player / singer and fire chain dancers. Awesome! They also arranged for a photographer to come out for $180 and take 70 plus pictures of our family. Great value that included the negatives. Fishing was great especially the last 3 trips we took on board La Graaan Cosa. Captain Charlie and his 20 year mate Louis are simply the best. My teenage daughters and friends caught 6 Mahi Mahi's one trip, released a white marlin another trip and had a double hook up and released two sail fish the final trip. The pictures will serve as family memories forever.
Next year's Cozumel Boondoggle will definitely be at Costa Del Sol. We will work with the same team again. 4 weeks is a long time to be away from home and the regular rigor of business ownership, but well worth it. The island is fine, while the hurricanes were brutal; the
Cozumelenos take it as just part of being an island in the Caribbean.
If anyone wants to talk to me personally about the trip or anyone we worked with feel free to e mail me at rlackey@citycre. While I may be slow in replying I will reply.
Thanks to all that made the Cozumel Boondoggle 2006 another success!

Villa Debra is a 5 star property!

We traveled to Cozumel for a week in early December. Staying at Villa Debra was an amazing experience and made for a perfect vacation. The property is in a private, gated community and short drive away from town. The house is spacious, well-equipped with all the amenities, and has the most perfect location. The highlight for us was the huge terrace with the most incredible views!
Last but not the least, Deb is a great host. She met us at the airport, showed us around the house and was always just a phone call away for any help we needed. She arranged a snorkeling expedition for us and also had our rental gear waiting for us when we arrived! We would love to go back to Villa Debra.

Villa Debra is everything that is advertised and so much more! We had nine people in our group and there was more than enough room for everybody. The ocean and the pier are right outside the front door and all of Cozumel's great attractions are just a short ride away. Villa Debra has all of the modern amenities that you will need and the kitchen is ready to go. Whether you're grilling on the deck, relaxing by the pool, or playing in the ocean, this is the place that you want to be. It is perfect for people of all ages and families. We arrived after sunset the first evening but never missed another from the deck overlooking the sea. When booking over the internet you sometimes wonder if your destination is as good as it looks; this one is better than advertised. If you are planning on visiting Cozumel and looking for a place to stay, the Villa Debra has it all! On a final note, Debra is an awesome hostess!
A perfect villa on the beach for our family
Left on 01/03/2012 for a stay in December 2011
Our family, ages 15 months to over 60 years, thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas on the beach. Deb met us at the airport and even helped us shop for the groceries we needed the first evening. The villa provided plenty of space for us all and we had quick access to the sea and pool. Snorkeling was great and just a few feet from the front door! We saw all kinds of tropical fish (including barracuda) and found some pretty shells. The upstairs terrace was ideal for family barbecues and just lounging around. I couldn't think of a better place to spend the holidays and want to return soon.
After visiting several beaches in the area, our group decided that Punta Sur was the best--purple coral, read fans, and schools of fish. The white sand beach was postcard perfect. We even saw a croc in a lagoon and a large crab skittering on the beach. Lots of memories for us all!
Villa Debra was hard to leave!
