Description of the Culebra vacation home rental
La Casa Mango is a newly remodeled, repainted and refurbished home on the island of Culebra, Puerto Rico. The house has a new kitchen and full bathroom. I am a veterinarian from Iowa and I can rent to you any time of the year. The kitchen, bathroom, floors and walls are all re-tiled and repainted. Please come down to do as little or as much as your heart desires.
Culebra Island
The island of Culebra has been featured in Caribbean Travel and Life ( February 2006), Islands Magazine (May 2006) on turtle watching and Conde Nast (May 2006). Culebra was the lead feature in Conde Nast of 10 smaller islands to get away from it all. I can assure you that the quiet, serenity and friendliness of the old Caribbean is manifested by Culebra. Traveler Magazine rated Flamenco Beach one of the top 3 beaches in the world ranked with Acapulco in Mexico and Bondi Beach in Australia. The island has another 10 beaches where you may be the only ones to enjoy their beauty. A trip to Culebrita to visit Tortuga Beach is a must. Tortuga can only be described as the deserted beach you see in the Corona beer ads. Perfection of sand, sea and sky.
On Culebra you make your own fun. Visitors can do as much or as little as they desire. Taxis or publicos can take you to the the beautiful beaches or to downtown Dewey for an evening of dinner and meeting the local people and visitors for a small fare of $2 per person. Everyone is friendly and enjoys a good time in a safe environment! The key to Casa Mango is obtained from Juan Rios the caretaker. All of the taxis know where Casa Mango is located and will take you there from the ferry or airport for a small fee of $3.00.
Monthly we have a licensed exterminator come in and set insect and rodent traps. Casa Mango is as free of vermin as it is possible in the tropics. Properties w/o monthly extermination services WILL be infested with vermin. I do not believe vermin belong in a property you are renting on vacation any more than you would tolerate vermin at home.

The house is totally renovated, repainted, re-tiled and refurbished. Friends and/or family can drive or taxi to numerous beaches for swimming, snorkeling, sunning or doing nothing at all. Culebra is unique in that a large cruise ship cannot dock there and jet planes cannot land at the small airport. The coral and fish are fabulous and just off shore. Fishing from the shore, dock or deep water fishing are also available. The house is wired for internet access via an antenna and a router. The town of Dewey is a short walk away. The restaurants in Dewey and around the island serve a variety of seafood and other Caribbean treats
