“A Piece of Paradise”
What a perfect hide-away Wendy has created! Oh! So Beautiful! You can look out from your bed and watch the boats go by in the canal while thrilling at the colorful planes taking off into the sun from the airport two stones-throws away. Toss in your fishing line from the new deck right outside your door! We didn't try the hot tub on the deck, so we'll have to do that next time. There is a barbeque spot right outside the kitchen door. Everything you need is right there. Inside the house, there are two satellite TVs, one in the living room, and one in the bedroom. The fully-equipped laundry room enables you to keep everything clean and ready to wear. For your computer, there is the coolest vintage desk with drawers that contain scissors, tools, tape, and whatever you might find you'll need. We were so comfortable in this cottage. It was clean and had many pillows, blankets, and towels. Even beach chairs and great beach towels. Wendy has worked endlessly to ensure that she has thought of everything a vacationer would hope to find in a cottage. She told us ahead of time that the bathroom is small. It is, but this is a cottage! The shower is not for the claustrophobic, but the bathroom has a window that can be opened to look out into the large yard area. We stayed two weeks, and were happy to be able to easily drive to The Dania Beach Beach and Pier, or Hollywood Beach, every day. There were restaurants and grocery stores close by. We had never been to Dania Beach, and we now have fun memories of a laid-back town with a beautiful hidden-away cottage.

“The best location”
What can I say, I have stayed at this cozy home 3 times...It is conveniently located by great beaches, the town of Dania Beach and the newly opened Dania Casino - featuring Jai Alai...Less than 5 minutes from the Ft Lauderdale International Airport on a canal..Everything you could possibly need for eating in, a grill on a screened in porch and a Publix and Winn Dixie close by..or perhaps eat out at Grampa's Restaurant, a Guy Fieri favorite...A large deck with comfortable seating to watch the boats pass by. Did I mention the hot tub??? A car or transportation of some kind is necessary as it is situated a couple miles from the town. A perfect ten, enjoy...
My family loved this little vacation cottage, it's private, beautiful, seating on the intercoastal waterway. Although we ate out so much in the south Florida dining scene, in the future I'll cook more as the kitchen is set up to bbq and cook anything. My 2children rested good while my wife and I soaked in the outdoor jacuzzi. I enjoyed the many views and watching boats go by. Much gratitude to Mac for sharing this beautiful home with travelers
Owner's reply: Thank you for the wonderful review thrilled you enjoyed your stay. Look us up in the future if your travel plans include South Florida Best regards Wendy
The locations was right off the water. The jacuzzi was great. It was also nice to be able to grill out. The bathroom was on the small side, but it was great to have a washer and dryer, microwave and appliances.
Owner's reply: Hi Dan, I am so glad you had a pleasant stay. And, Thank you very much for taking the time to review our property. Best regards, Wendy
Mac's Hideaway is a hidden gem!! This property is amazing. Stay here if you're visiting the Fort Lauderdale area. It's very close to Ft Lauderdale airport. It's very affordable as well. The property comes fully stocked and is very clean. The landscaping is inviting. It's so relaxing to soak in the hot tub and watch the boats go by on the inner coastal. Wendy is very nice and promptly responds to any email. The WiFi and cable worked well. It was nice to be able to grill and not eat out every night. The washing machine and dryer also worked well. There's one bedroom with a queen bed and a pull out sofa in the living room. Both were very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I am so thankful I found this place for our family vacation!! We will be back on our next Fort Lauderdale trip!!
Owner's reply: Connie, Thank you so much for the wonderful review. I am pleased that you and your family enjoyed your stay at Mac's Hideaway. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any of your future stays. Best regards, Wendy
Cottage is beautifully located along one of the many canals with a large deck and hot tub overlooking it. It has been recently upgraded with new carpeting a bed mattress. Kitchen is fully equipped and barbecue conveniently located outside kitchen. Highly recommend for a great stay but do need as with most American locations your own transportation.
Owner's reply: Thank you for the glowing review, you were wonderful guest. Thank you, again. Wendy
“Cute Nautical Cottage”
This nautically themed cottage was clean and comfy. It was very well stocked. We are a retired professional couple, visiting the area from Oregon, and stayed 4 nights, (Jan. 2015), prior to our cruise. We shopped at Whole Foods and cooked our breakfasts in. Did barbeque some meals, but were gone most days..The BBQ is large and works well. Not a walking area but convenient by car to many sights.. The cottage is right on the water, so there's a light scent of must as windows are secure and do not open. We kept the doors open for ventilation each morning and that helped. Otherwise it's a perfect little get a way in a great spot. It's very well equipped for long stays. The washer and dryer let us start our next leg all fresh and clean. The patio has ample furniture and great views.. I have mold and food sensitivities, so being able to make my own breakfast is important to me.. My husband is not as sensitive as I am, and he was not affected. I think that most people would not be, either. But I'm mentioning it in case you are also sensitive, and need medication.. Wendy was very accommodating and helpful, and we certainly enjoyed our stay. I'd certainly recommend it!
“great house right on the canal”
nice to sit on the deck or in the hot tub watching the boats go by well equipped house Could be noisy traffic on Old Griffin rd Will be back in June.
“Lovely Cottage on the canal.”
My husband and I spent six wonderful days at this lovely cottage with a beautiful deck to sit on and watch the boats go by. The house was immaculate inside and had all we needed for our stay. We will definately be spending time there again. The owner was also very helpful and made our stay well worth the long drive from Canada.
Owner's reply: Thank you very much for your kind words.
“Big Bang for your Buck!”
Clean and very well equipped (especially kitchen & grills), this newly remodeled cottage had everything we needed - close to all we wanted to do; great privacy; plus we enjoyed the boat traffic on the canal. Plans are in the works for us to return next winter!
